45 sample-based instruments inspired by the sound of the Beatles, together in one plug-in.
Fab Four is a virtual instrument inspired by the sounds of the Beatles, using the same kind of period instruments and authentic rare EMI recording equipment the Beatles used to create their music. Sound engineer Ken Scott worked on five legendary Beatles albums, and used that extensive knowledge in the creation of Fab Four. No expense was spared finding the same kind of period instruments and rare authentic EMI and other recording equipment the Beatles used to create their sounds to produce this collection.
Well over a million dollars worth of instruments, amplifiers, microphones, recording desks (including very rare EMI REDD tube and TG12345 desks), outboard equipment (including Fairchild limiters and EMI RS124 modified Altec compressors), and Studer J-37 tube multi-tracks were used in this production. If you are a film/tv/game composer, or a musician/producer looking for sounds not found in other collections, this is it. Blending these unique and sometimes bizarre sounds with today's music should enable you to produce something truly fab!

- Great Sound
- Lots of Features
- Needs Preparation
- Not Recommended for Beginners
Comments about EastWest Fab Four:
Kind of mixed feelings here.........great product, with great sounds. However, takes some preparation, and not recommended for beginners. I am not exactly DAW-savvy....but at the same time, not actually new to music production. Two things you do need to get, before attempting to do this, is (1) make sure you have a "full" DAW installed on your computer(i.e. Logic, Reason, Sonar, etc.)---and NOT just a loop program(FL, Acid, etc.).......(2) you need to also get a MIDI controller, and the appropriate cables. This will get you to operate in the optimum way).
The first time I attempted to download this, I had problems. This was due to my own computer having some issues. Fortunately, the folks at EastWest were able to re-set it, and I was able to install it on my other computer. Using I-lock is a bit of a minor nuisance, which is no surprise.
Still having some issues with tweaking it, to synch up with my SONAR, and some latency issues involving my MIDI keyboard. But other than that, going in the right direction. Doesn't come instantly, it takes a while to learn.
It's only a matter of getting everything all synched up, on their "Play" program. (Hopefully by next week)Which would probably be also the same with Gypsy, Hollywood Strings, or any of the other EW packages. Lots of good samples there, with excellent tone. Plus some ways within "Fab Four" to do some additional sound modifications(i.e. Artificial Double Tracking, etc).
I have come slightly short of "recommending" it, only due to the fact it is complicated and time-consuming to set up. The main thing is to have above average knowledge, and do extra preparation.
