I bought this card (ESI Maya44e) after close to a year of research and testing other interfaces. It's been a real mixed bag. The drivers are far more useful than the previous interfaces I've used (Yamaha, Sek'd/Magix, M-Audio) the card is fast and seems stable, however I bought this card for not only general recording but also midi triggering. Recording is satisfactory though the stereo imagine could be better. Midi, any midi however is 100% useless. I've learned too later there is a known issue but if you need midi, skip this card period.
This card is simply great. The audio quality is much better than other PCI type cards I have owned (Yamaha, M-Audio, E-MU, Creative). Dead quiet. Outstanding stereo image. Drivers loaded perfectly. DirectWire feature is VERY handy.
