Very simple user interface, works great with Garage Band directly onto iPhone 6. I have a library of over 100 Casio Workstation songs I wanted to convert to high fidelity polyphonic M4A or MP3 files so I can leave the piano at home for gigs. The MIDI files direct from the piano are of course not useful standalone. I tried several other devices which were too complicated for me, though obviously good products themselves. The SLIDE through garage band easily creates excellent sounding M4A files which I can play directly on any iPhone interface, or email around etc. It fit my specific need perfectly and at a very low cost. I can also of course, just plug in my guitar anytime and record tracks to my iPhone as well. Highly recommend for simple recording interface with iOS devices.

My plan for this device was to use it for recording on my PC with Windows OS. I installed the "free" software package that comes with it, though it's really just a microtransaction platform (which seems to have some really good options).

Before I could use the Amplitube program, I was prompted to register the device. As usual, the registration prompt asked for a serial number. The prompt required a certain number of digits in three groups. I search everywhere for that number, but it was neither on the Slide, the packaging, or anywhere in the shipping information. Without that serial number, there's no way to use Amplitube. Without Amplitube, this device starts to feel more like a paperweight than a piece of recording gear (although, in all honesty, it's far too lightweight to serve as an effective paperweight; so no good there).

The instructions (printed in 0.06 point font) directed me to Fender's support site, so I figured I would at least try that before I gave up completely. Fender's support page is terribly disorganized, but once I found the area I thought would be helpful, I gave it a shot. First, I was prompted to select a product from a drop-down menu. The Slide shows up exactly nowhere in the menu options. That ended my only chance of getting it to work on PC.

I also searched through online forums and found a few places where people had posted similar questions to mine. All of those questions went unanswered.

tl;dr This is probably a great device, but Fender no longer supports it, so if you have even the slightest technical glitch, you're completely on your own. Thanks again, Fender!

I'm going to go play my Schecter now...

Comments about Fender SLIDE iOS, Mac, and PC Audio Interface:

Both me and a buddy each bought one. I have a lot of experience with USB interfaces, DAW's, etc and I couldn't get it to function at a usable/acceptable level/performance. My buddy, that doesn't have much experience couple get his windows pc to recognize the device to use even with the help of phone support. That's two bads for two here locally, so - unfortunately - my advice is to stay away from this product.

Comments about Fender SLIDE iOS, Mac, and PC Audio Interface:

I wanted an interface to use amplitube with my ipad into a PA or guitar amplifier, to use as a usb interface for various PC software for recording. It's a joke that it's adevertised as including software that is the same trial stuff available to anyone. Then there is no mention of the product of the Fender website, and any links mentioned in the manual are long gone. How hard is it to leave a page with drivers and direct links? As to the device itself, It's worth the cheap SDOFTD price, but heck Fender have a little pride and give this thing a proper burial instead of tossing it in the dump. I will think hard before buying any Fender sound equipment besides used guitars, and I recommend others not to buy this on principle alone, and buy a focusrite interface (also bus powered) or as mentioned by others, Rocksmith (which is revolutionarily awesome) with usb cable.

Comments about Fender SLIDE iOS, Mac, and PC Audio Interface:

What I was looking for was a tool for interactive instruction and portable amp. This may do what I am looking for, but I have not successful downloaded Rock Prodigy or a usable amp. The serial number for Rock Prodigy did not work. Fender contacted Rock Prodigy and they sent me a link to download a long licence agreement. At that point I was already annoyed and gave up. IK Multimedia's AmpliTube trial version does not seem to allow for output. I think that I bought an expensive USB sound card.

I bought this as a Stupid Deal of the Day for a really great price, and wanted to see how this woouod work with my iPad and the Rock Prodigy app. When I recieved it, I followed the instrctions to get the app from Fender, but the website would not recognize the serial number on the Slide. I called Fender, and the guy was super friendly, but admitted that he knew nothing about this product. He sent my info over to the Rock Prodigy guys who sorted it all out. The guy on the phone mentioned that I should be able to use the interface with Garage Band, and I have had a blast using all the different tones (amplifiers) and pedal combinations that you can use with GB. I'm running the iPad to my Pignose, and getting all kinds of cool sounds. Lots of fun for very little cost!

I got this as 'deal of the day' and was reasonable. I consider myself savy with computers and install & use technical programs in my work everyday. The support for this product was very limited, incomplete in fact. Fender should just include an installation CD. Instead you need to search quite a bit online, on Fender forums, just to get the link to download support drivers, ect.

First installation failed to work on my laptop. Next installed on a desktop PC and finally got it working correctly. The free Amplitude software is limited , unless you buy the more expensive packages.
This will take some time to learn how to make tracks, but it seems to function correctly. Amplitude software is also not very intuitive. Time will tell. It is a cool way to record directly to PC.

If you want to get from your guitar (or pedal chain) into your PC, this is the simplest way to do it. No fuss, no muss just plug it in, Win7 recognized it instantly, I plugged in my guitar, opened up Audacity and started recording.

It's very basic and doesn't have any features but it's very affordable and it just works. If you want a simple, basic solution this one works great.

I use this item to record my song on ipad. When follow instruction inside the box, the link to download Amtitude for Fender is not worked. So I have to use Garage Band is third party to record.

Comments about Fender SLIDE iOS, Mac, and PC Audio Interface:
