Comments about Focusrite Saffire Pro 24:

I've been home recording for the past 10 years and owned, experienced a few interfaces during that time. Obviously over the decade, audio interface technology has kept up with user demands for quality and affordability.

Compared against other Focusrite interfaces and other manufacturers interfaces with more I/O and features, they would have been an overspend.

Totally happy with this interface. It meets my expectations and works well with Cakewalk SONAR X2 running Windows 7. I was up and running in approx. 15 minutes. If you read the user manual and have a basic understanding of audio interfaces, you should be able to get good quality recordings.

Comments about Focusrite Saffire Pro 24:

The Saffire pro 24 is an awesome interface and is working exactly as promised. Having optimized my computer as directed has made the recording process work well with no noise. The possibilities are almost endless with live recording of vocals and instruments. I wanted an interface that I could grow with and this one fits the bill. The one thing I was not aware of was the critical need to be fully familiar with the DAW that I am using. This has made the learning curve go up.

Cudos to the Musicians Friend folks. Everything was in good order and was new as promised...hermetically sealed and packed well.

    Great Audio Interface!!!!!!

Comments about Focusrite Saffire Pro 24:

Focusrite got it rite with the saffire line of interfaces. I bought the pro 24 to replace the terrible m-audio fast track pro(please stay away). This interface is an awesome piece of equiptment. It has 2 Focusrite preamps, 2 line in's, 6 line out's, headphone monitor and adat capabilities. All of these features combine to provide all I need in my home studio. Installation was was a breeze and the the software that comes with is pretty useful too. The best thing IMOP is the preamps very clean, colorless & alot of headroom. This is not the best on the market but in this price range there isnt a better interface.

    Works well

Comments about Focusrite Saffire Pro 24:

Unit has been working pretty well so far. As advertised. Sound out to my monitors through the TRS jacks sounds great. I have it running sound out to another system that only has RCA inputs, make sure to use mono TS to RCA adapters and not TRS (stereo) to mono RCA otherwise it won't work. The Saffire mix software is pretty nice, has a lot of different functionality to it and options. The one complaint i have is that the headphone output is always linked to outputs 3/4 but within Saffire mix you can find outputs 3/4 whatever signals you want. It'd be nice if there was a selector switch right on the front of the box.The included VSTs and loops/samples are a nice adder.Overall it appears to be a well made product and it works fine.

    This unit alone is amazing...but

    By Selly

Comments about Focusrite Saffire Pro 24:

If I were you I would go for the DSP version. I just sold mine to get the DSP because it has effects that can be added to the signal before it is actually recorded in the DAW. If for nothing else this is useful because you will then have a limiter to use so the sound levels don't clip. Anyway...onto the product review. This unit is incredible. The preamps are what I bought it for and to my amazement sounded better than I had ever expected. I have a host of other effects and tube preamps I stopped using when this unit did everything I wanted it to better. For the experienced, the suite of software it comes with is rather useless except for the Focusrite plug-ins, they are awesome. This unit makes nearly no noise and allows you to record at very low levels without getting any type of hum or hiss in the background. The mix software that is used between the unit itself and the DAW is awesome too. It's super clear and easy to adjust all of the routing and software parameters to store them for use in stand-alone mode.Overall this is the perfect unit at a price well below what it should be sold at. The preamps alone are worth the investment and every other feature works awesome just as they should. For anyone that has any trouble with their device, make sure to upgrade to at least the 2.0 software. If it continues mess with your firewire device driver on your computer. One of these is your problem and completely fixable.
