These nicely priced condensers have worked great for me with acoustic guitar, vocals, and as drum overheads--they are hot! I only gave four stars for quality because one of the first pair had a bad ground, but MF had no problem with return and exchange. My new ones work great! Recommended!
Used them is 90 degree stereo config for recording acoustic guitar. Sounds very nice and bright. Very full, bright and low distortion. Overall a great pair of microphones for the price. I recommend these to any home recording enthusiast on a budget (who isn't). 5 stars.
I used these the other day in my studio on a martin acoustic guitar and they sounded amazing! I have one pointed at the guitar where the neck meets the body and another one pointed at the hole both about 3 or 4 inches away. I did the same thing with the same guitar and same room conditions with a pair of Shure SM81 Condenser Mics and I got a better sound from these Fostex mics! I highly suggest these mics for any studio!
I just got these and recorded some drum tracks with them as overheads and I have to say I was very impressed. For the money you can't beat them.
