Comments about Gear One G100DX Isolation Headphones:
I was a little sceptical about this. cause the price was so low. but when they arrived I used them and I was blown away. Their great head phones. I was shocked. I've been playing and recording for over 30 years. I would totally buy this a gain. great deal.

Comments about Gear One G100DX Isolation Headphones:
All these one star reviews are ridiculous! You need to compare apples to apples here folks. I got these at the "stupid Deal of the day" but 25 and under and these are a steal. Good sound, nice isolation, solid construction and a nice long quality cord. I've been using then in my drum practice room and they are just fine.

Comments about Gear One G100DX Isolation Headphones:
I think I look silly using these headphones on my computer (they're designed for use with drum recording and click tracks) but I don't want to waste my money.

Comments about Gear One G100DX Isolation Headphones:
These headphones have finally gotten me frustrated enough to buy a very expensive and well known pair. They are extremely uncomfortable, cheaply made, and sound awful.
These headphones are completely unadjustable. The headband idea is probably the worst I've ever seen or worn. For "padding" there are solid rubber pads that either 1. pull your hair if you move at all or 2. rub like crazy if you're bald (at least I assume, as I've never been bald before). The band isn't long enough and so I can barely get these on my ears with a stretch. Stretching them to my ears makes the rubber pads pull my hair painfully. There is no winning. The headphones themself look like something you'd get for free on an airplane 20 years ago. Like someone else said also, the adapter is shaped in a way to make it worthless with any other cable. After testing it, too, it didn't work. I had to manually put pressure to push the cable into the adapter hard enough for it to make contact.
Build-wise, they seem moderately sturdy. My old plastic Seinhessier's lasted me a few years of moderate use and so I bet these would last a while too. They are bulky and inconvenient and so not good for travel. As far as sound, these headphones are completely awful. The bass has a nice kick but the treble loss is astounding and anything in the mid range sounds like complete mush, there's no clarity at all. These headphones are horrible in every way.
If I had known about these headphones I probably would have been willing to pay half as much. My cheap sony ear buds have better sound quality and comfort than these.
Comments about Gear One G100DX Isolation Headphones:
Thought I'd try these when they were on sale for less than the "standard" studio cans.
About all I can say good about them is they are very light, about half the weight of my regular phones.
The problems are many...
-These are NOT circumaural unless you have ears the size of a two year old. That means, for me anyway, they are half on and half off my ears making them extremely uncomfortable. It also means they will never seal properly, so much for isolation.
-The isolation is bad. Sealed against my temples (to avoid the ear problem listed above) and playing at a moderate volume, they are easily picked up by my studio condenser mics. About the same as a set of open backs.
-They feel like they're going to crush your head. I suppose they did that to try to get the lousy design to seal on your ears. You can probably stretch them out, but that would make the seal even worse than it already is.
-The frequency response is not very good. A big peak in the mids, and rolling off pretty fast both high and low. Makes for loud but thin vocals, and really weak instruments. The talent will be pointing at their instruments and motioning to you to "turn it up! turn it up!".
-The build quality is terrible. To Musicians Friend's credit, they tell you when you order these that there are no replaceable parts, a red flag that I foolishly ignored. The cord is stiff and hard, the plug is cheap, the 1/4" adapter is heavy but designed so it will only work with the plug on these phones, and the ear pads are cheap and stiff. I don't think these will last more than a few months if used regularly.
I have had on worse headphones, but not in the price range these are pretending to. Since I can't imagine ever using these, I'm sending them back even though the shipping will eat a third of the price I paid. Bummer.
Comments about Gear One G100DX Isolation Headphones:
they're lightweight, kinda cheap, kinda small, and the least comfortable headphones I've ever put on.
They're fine for what I paid, but nobody should ever under any circumstance pay the regular price. The sound is fine, pretty good actually, but I've got a pair of sonys that sound better. But it is a good clean sound for tracking, good tone, so I'm gonna use them. The only real problem is the size, they're so tight, and I have a normal size head. I had to stretch them and reshape them, didn't enjoy that, but now they fit. "hours of comfort"??? Really??? My advice is to keep looking,
