For the average listener, these are a great pair of solid, well-crafted pair of headphones. When this pair wears out I will probably get another pair just like them. They're probably the best set I've had to date. I believe they are the ideal bargain for anyone who is an aspiring musician or DJ. This will give you the sound quality you want without breaking the bank. Or, if you're like me, you just don't feel like spending the several hundred extra bucks for the noise cancellation. Plus, the way these cup around your ears, you aren't likely to be hearing much of anything going on around you while they're on anyway. In short, if you're on a budget but you hate low-quality sound, this should do the trick nicely.
For these headphones, the coil cable can be a bit annoying. However, the fact that it comes with a 1/4 adapter is quite helpful if you're a guitar player that doesn't want to disturb fellow students in a college dorm. This adapter actually screws on, which gives it superior sound quality to my other set of Sony headphones (which have a standard snap-on adapter). This is great for me if I just want to practice a few riffs. The nice part about these is that I don't even have to plug in an amp. All I have to do is plug them into my Pandora processor and I'm good to go. They fold nicely also for trips. My only complaint is that they don't have very good sound quality through the 1/8'' adapter. I was hoping to listen to them through my iPod, but I suspect that the iPod didn't have enough juice to be able to power the oversized DJ headphones.
This pair of headphones is very solid. The padding is also more than enough to provide comfort for extended periods of listening. However, I wouldn't recommend listening to them with glasses on. They're a bit tight and they leave marks if you do so. The speaders themselves are great and have better bass than I would have ever believed was possible! The sound is very crisp, clear, and responsive. I can't ask for more than that on headphones at this price.
For as cheap as these are, they sound fantastic. I actually listened to a set of Beats Audio headphones after I got these, just for the sake of curiosity. I was shocked that the Beats Audio headphones had exactly the same audio quality. For that much, they had better be the best headphones money can buy, however, that pair wasn't. I think that with some companies you're paying extra for the exterior styling, the extra padding around the ears, and for companies like Bose and Beats Audio, the name brand. If you want a good pair of headphones and you don't use them for just listening to your iPod or MP3 player, I would definitely get these.

I like the features that this product has for what I paid. Such as the removable cable and screw on adapter. Unfortunately after one day of very light listening to my iPod and about 30 min of mixing at my desk I noticed that I couldn't hear the vocals, the bass and mids were very distorted and there were no highs. At first I thought it was a problem with my Numark Mixtrack Pro DJ controller or with the EQ's or gains. After a quick test with several songs on my iPod and stereo I realized that it was the headphones.
Final Opinion: If you are on a tight budget you can't beat the value but if you are willing to spend more you can get a much higher quality product.
Has great features. The removable cable is the best.
The headphones have a solid build with full metal earcups, however after just one day of very light home use I could no longer hear vocals, the bass beccame very distorted and there were no highs.
The headphones are a great price on sale. but much more than that and they are definetly not worth it.

Works great for silent guitar practice

        By Tomk2

        from Chicagoland

        Comments about Gemini DJX-05 Headphones:

I wanted inexpensive headphones that folded flat to slip inside A Traveler Guitar gig bag, so that I would have one small package with everything I needed to practice without making sound. These headphones fit nicely into the Traveler Guitar gig bag pocket when folded flat. The cord is a good length for plugging into the guitar directly, but would stretch for other applications as well. Mostly plastic construction, doesn't look like you can abuse them. And they were not expensive. I didn't want headphones that would block out external noises, so that I could hear telephones, alarms, timers, all sorts of things that go beep... these do not block out external soulds much. Sound quality is perfect for my uses. I have not used them for any other situations.

For what I wanted them to do... serve as inexpensive, compact, light, flat folding headphones for silent guitar practice, these headphones are great.

        Very Comfortable

        By Susan Pritchard

        Comments about Gemini DJX-05 Headphones:

I bought these to wear at work. I work in a some-what open area and when I seriously need to concentrate, I put on headphones and listen to music to drown out the chatter of my co-workers. These work well for that and are very comfortable. I am not musically inclined to speak to quality of bass, etc. (blah blah blah) but they suit me and I am happy. My only wish would be that they would drown out the chatter without playing music. I know that sounds odd, but yeah, that's me.

        Review of DJX-05 Headphones.

        Comments about Gemini DJX-05 Headphones:

these are really good for mixing and producing, or just having fun and listening to music. these are all around great headphones.
These things have really good sound quality and are durable, but they can get distorty sometimes, if that makes sense. (distortion.)
They are made of plastic, but its very strong plastic, but its plastic..
these things are valuable to me for my producing.

My girlfriend who has a pair of skull candies, put on these gemini headphones and exclaimed, "They feel like clouds!"
It's what you'd expect in DJ headphones. The cord and screw on adapter is a plus.
They are pretty solid but when you look them over, you can easily see where the corners were cut. Sound quality is a smidge above average. You can't mix on them. They are good enough for your music listening enjoyment or for DJing.
For the price tag, you are getting a decent headset, considering that there are brands out there that sell the name more than the product for double the price and aren't that much better.

        Great headphones

        Comments about Gemini DJX-05 Headphones:

Overall, these are good headphones. They have an overall great sound. They have great highs and mids, but they are a little low on the low end. They block out a good amount of noise too. The only problem is that the plastic they are made out of feels a little cheap, but it hasn't been a problem so far. I've have them for around 3 months or so. I would recommend them for basic use.

        Gemini DJX-05: The Ideal Deal

        By Timothy Donahue

        from Albuquerque, NM

        Comments about Gemini DJX-05 Headphones:

        Best. Headphones. Ever.
At least at this price point, and I've paid far more for headphones that simply weren't as good.
I'm a guitar/bass player, not a dj, so what I look for in headphones may be a bit different. I live in a compressed student community, so having the 13' cord so that I can use my processor (Digitech RP500) standing up, or plug into my amp (Carvin SX100) without sitting on top of it is fantastic. The screw on 1/4" adapter is great, I thought I would hate it, but now I don't understand why all headphone adapters don't all screw on.
I've had them for about two months and use them for everything: my processor, my amp, recording, and my mp3 player. The response is great across all frequencies. The cable is thick, the cups are plush, they feel solid all the way around and the 50mm drivers are loud without hurting your eardrums.... even with my little mp3 powering them.
Okay, I got them on sale; at regular price they're a 10, at the sale price they're a 15.
