I bought this product knowing what I was buying, I review everything I buy. "They don't keep me in my band because I'm gorgeous, they keep me there cause I'm smart" (Judge Judy) If you think a 15" sub with a total of 400 watts is going to shake the floor, then you live in an upstair apartment and it will do that. This sub is what it says it is, its to "enhance" you FOH loudspeaker low end. That it delivers on. I play alot of clubs in the Youngstown, Oh area, some are big, some are small, so instead of taking a huge monsterous system to small clubs, I bought one of these to try out. I use a Behringer PMP5000 to power 2 12" Kustom KCP's for FOH, and 2 10" KCP monitors. I run the Gemini through the mono out of the board which has a sub crossover. This single sub gives me added low end to the vocals, and extra punch to the kick drum. Small clubs don't want you to blast out the customers and this sub works fine for doing just that. It also sounds good punch for our break music adding an extra kick to recorded music. If I want to rattle a bigger venue, I simply bring 2 more 18" subs and add 4000 watts. The math is quite simple, I will be buying another one of these. They are fairly light and I don't have to bring a rack of power amps for a small club, makes tear down quick and easy at 2am, plus now I don't have to spend 2 hours setting up at a small club, educate yourself before you buy, is my advise.......

So, this worked great for a few gigs, then we went to turn it on at our next gig and the fuse popped upon turning on. Changed the fuse a number of times, still happens with nothing plugged in. So basically I have a 60 lb brand new piece of junk. I am going to remove the amp and just turn it into an unpowered speaker I guess. I would not normally review something, but currently been on hold with gemini for over 1.5 hours and basically burning time waiting for them to have an available agent. I started with a voicemail about 10 days ago, no return. Then filled out the support form on the website. I got a response...4 days later. It asked me the same questions that the form asked. I answered within 5 minutes. That was 4 days ago again, still no repsonse. So I am on hold and plotting revenge

Check out my 1st review: Deep, "Floor-Shaking Low End? No. Worth the Coin?" Yes. I just obtained the cash to be able to afford another one of these subs, plus MF had just recently gotten more in stock. Now I have 2 to complete my small PA set up and that added low end the band needed for small clubs, perfect sound again, whats nice is just plug in and go!! Although I was a little concerned when I opened the box and found the grill was dented in 3 spots and it had a quarter sized nick in the front top edge of the wood, I plugged it in at its virgin gig and it performed flawlessly!! The wife says: "Call MF and send that back, you want one thats not dented up" I said: "Shut your pie hole, it works and its going to see more abuse than that for years to come!!" I have to give Kudos to MF for giving me a great deal on this sub, they have treated me awesome over the years!! A+++ MF

I am using this subwoofer with a Fender Passport 300 PA system. I am a sax player and play solo. I wanted a bigger bottom end and this really fit the bill. Have only had it a couple weeks and not on any gig yet. However, in my spacious basement practice room. It really rocks.

Good for the price
First let me say I was worried sick when I decided to purchase this SUB because we all know they can be a pain in the neck!!!!! when ready. Anyway I got it and was blown away because I wasn`t expecting to hear such a smooth and punchy bottom end my bass player came over and when he heard he wasn`t impress so I cranked her up and he start smiling and thumbs up right away. I went in the studio and hook up a cable to my kick drum and insert it to the my mixer and punched it and couldn`t believe the sound it sounded better than the CD from there I know I made a good purchase. I use this live and it just does the job as any other sub out there the only thing is the power level is not as much to drive so I had to buy another one to get more power because I dont wanna push a single one too hard but over all a great buy a 8 out of 10 thanks Gemini.

After reading the reviews decided to give one a chance.Seems to be well made, solid. Hooked up, cranked up, sounds great. Tight bass know rattle. Just what my PA needed and I have 15's.
Just had it a few days now but have pushed it pretty good for several hours at a time each day. So far great! Very impressed.
Comments about Gemini GVX-SUB15P Powered Subwoofer:
I am going to be fair about this review. I owned previous to these the smaller GVX-Sub12P also made by Gemini. I moved up to the 15s because I simply needed more power. The 15s are definitely more powerful and produce more airflow. Our band used them twice outdoors this summer. The 1st time on a large wooden stage and they sounded full and produced more than enough volume. The second time was at a company picnic and they were setting directly on gravel and we could not seem to get enough volume out of them. Within 25 feet they sounded perfect but as you moved away, you could barely hear them. I suppose that where you are using them makes all the difference. The sound great during practice in our music room but that is a small room. I plan on keep them for practice and purchasing better subs for playing out
They have all the features that you need in a good sub. Simply plug them in and start playing. The volume control on subs I always set on 10 and control the volume from a separate output on the mixer. The crossover control is a plus. In the practice room, I set them at the deepest setting they sound very good. At some venues, you will need to move the frequency up in order to hear them. I suppose this is common but I am glad the crossover control is included. Also has a Phase inverter switch but I cannot hear any difference in or out.
I have owned mine now for about 6 months and have used them mostly in my music room. Twice, I used them at an outdoor job this summer and let me tell you that you need to be careful. The corners can get dinged up very easily. As far as the internal quality, Our band plays ours hard on a weekly basis with no issues whatsoever.
Even though they are one of the least expensive powered 15s on the market, they are loud so I would give them a good score on value.
Comments about Gemini GVX-SUB15P Powered Subwoofer:
Okay i bought this sub like two months ago and it was fantastic. I used it for about two months and for absolutely no reason it quit working. I investigated this problem and i found that the fuse was blown. So i took a trip down to the store and bought a replacement with the same rating as the two that came with it (and by the way it also blew the second fuse it came with) and it blew every fuse I had bought. So if you are looking for good quality for like 5 seconds buy this sub.
Comments about Gemini GVX-SUB15P Powered Subwoofer:
I recently purchased two of these units. When they arrived I have to say I was quite impressed. Solid design, portable and fit and finish was good. Now for sound quality... I have 2 of these units paired up with 2 Mackie Thump PA speakers.I was hoping they would provide a nice solid low thump when playing various venues. The Mackies bass over powers these subwoofers easily. Kinda disappointing especially since these are made for bass. When you wind up the gains on the Sub and Mixer it does help a bit but still not the boom i was hoping for. With the gains turned up to increase the bass it doesn't take much for the clip light to start coming on and you have to back it back down. Good value for an entry level sub but you get what you pay for.
Comments about Gemini GVX-SUB15P Powered Subwoofer:
I have been in the sound industry for 14 years and when I was given this as a gift I was thankful but mentally I brushed it off as the brand was Gemini. I finally took it out of the box and plugged it in. LORD HAVE MERCY THESE THINGS POUND! I would put them up against just about any sub with the same specs. They absolutely thump...and HARD! I am now using them on the field for my DJ business and I always get people saying how awesome the bass was on certain songs! This is a no brainer! At this price....heck at $200 more it's worth it! Forget the name Gemini...close your eyes and listen. You will be a believer!
