First would like to thank all at Musician's Friend. Get my orders quickly and always have a follow up after placing the order. The candy is nice, too.
These interfaces are fantastic. Negative reviews I read don't make any sense. Some complained about hissing. Last time I turned on a twin verb, it sounded just like it did in amplitube. Sounded great. 59 Bassman, Delux Reverb, Metal, Clean, Lead, all sounded great.
Bottom line--get it. Not hard to use and the support staff is great--issues were self imposed in the record setting. They got me out of it in one email.

This was a huge disappointment for me. Now for one the Feedback. I know there is a "No Feedback" option in the software, but it reverses the polarity of one of your earphones. So it is out of phase, which drives me batty. So I was able to turn it off and play just fine for a while. After getting out of the software and going back in, I about had my eardrums blown out. It was absolutely terrible. My poor headphones/eardrums! Odd thing, there is no mic to produce feedback... it comes from.. nowhere. And really should not be a problem at all.
Also there is a very noticeable hiss on the amp models. It is very loud. The noise filter effect helps but takes away all of your highs. The tone is terrible and there is no volume at all.
The software is in chunks, I guess you have to buy the 8 channel mixer portion separate, and it will not transfer to the fender or other alternate versions of Amplitude. Even if you get the paid versions of the apps.
I did not buy this from MF, however delving into the hype I did order the iRig Stomp from MF. Unfortunately it shipped before I could get a cancel order request in. I will be sending it back, the sofware just is not worthy of my Twin Reverb. It will just destroy my tone. If you consider yourself an Audiophile in any way. Run away. If you want something to play around with and don't mind your headphones running out of phase, by all means, check it out. It is a neat toy in its own right. Just not what I was looking for, which was a cheap way to record some riffs and learn my way around recording software. Unfortunately it fell way short.

I bought this just to screw around with. The app is free but it has hardly anything on it. The price was cheap (mid teens)so its worth it. I was hoping for more effects but thats where thay get you to add on more forsmall upgrades. Its ok, I think I would buy again though, we will see.

Comments about IK Multimedia iRig - Audio Interface Adapter for iPhone, iPod, iPad:
I use this with the Amplitube and iRealB apps. It works great for practice as long as you don't set the amplifier app to a high gain setting -- if you do, it will feedback (squeal) like crazy. If you want a high gain sound, just stick a stomp box in line before the input. I got mine as a half-price return/refurb. It's a good deal at half-price.

Comments about IK Multimedia iRig - Audio Interface Adapter for iPhone, iPod, iPad:
IK Multimedia tries but at the end of the day they will gaffe you off if you have a problem. This is a toy to noodle around with your guitar. Don't expect alot. Expect a toy that if you can get it to work will be fun to goof around with. My first one was dead on arrival. The replacement is working.
