    The ION LP 2 FLASH Turntable is the fastest and easiest way to convert your vinyl records directly to an SD card or USB thumb drive without the need for a computer. The LP 2 FLASH turntable listens for the silence between songs on your records and automatically breaks up albums into individual tracks.     ION LP 2 FLASH has a large display and familiar controls for Record, Playback, and navigation. You can even control the quality of your MP3s without connecting a computer.     ION LP 2 FLASH comes with EZ Vinyl Converter software for PC and EZ Audio Converter for Mac. They are the simplest way to get the music on your vinyl directly into iTunes. A free download of the latest EZ Vinyl Converter software features Gracenote MusicID technology, which analyzes your music and automatically retrieves album, artist, and song information for you. EZ Audio Converter also lets you easily enter track information. You can digitally archive your collection in just a few mouse clicks. Audacity professional recording software is also included so you can reduce any unwanted noise in your digital files.

    Once your music is on an SD card, a USB thumb drive, or your computer, you can sort your music, make custom playlists, take songs with you on an iPod, or play them directly from your computer. Finally, LP2 FLASH provides a way to make your record collection completely portable and secure.

    I am a gearhead who has transferred many albums to CD. What this unit boasts, it does not live up to. Pro: You can record direct to SD or USB Flash Con: You cannot transfer the recordings from SD or USB Flash directly over this units USB cable to your computer. The SD or Flash must be removed and inserted into your computer to transfer Pro: It can record at 128, 160 or 192kbps Con: Set it to 192kbps and start recording ... it magically resets itself to 128 ~ which you don't discover till you've completed the recording session and transferred the files over to your computer. Con: sales pitch says it records as 33/45/78. There is no 78 setting. This is only accomplished using Audacity software after you record at 33 or 45. Con: says it will detect breaks between tracks and automatically break out each song into its own MP3 file - wrong - I tried several albums with varying break lengths and this function simply did not work.  I did plug an external tape deck in and recorded some tracks from it, and it did detect the breaks between tracks.  I believe the natural background noise of the vinyl is picked up as music and therefore - no breaks. Beyond that, it's a great unit ~ oh, except for the fact that the platter wobbles ever so slightly up and down for each rotation ... not much, but when added to the other failures of this unit ... it just figures the platter would wobble. The firmware shows print on the display screen. One of the screens has a type-o, showing the word "Pree" instead of 'Press'.  I just get the feeling that the manufacturer didn't put their heart into this one. I am awaiting my RA :)
