I use this as the PA for a small Jazz Club, so far I've just tried it with various musicians and instruments and DJ music as well, we haven't opened yet so I'm trying it out in different situations and I think it will be perfect for the jazz club thang. It has great bottom using pre recorded music and the bluetooth works perfectly and is super handy providing a wireless hookup. Acoustic nylon guitar, bass and vocals sound amazing, hollow body jazz guitar sounds perfect, haven't put keys thru it yet, waiting on my B3 player to be available to see how the tone is, but so far one should fill the whole room (100 peeps) as promised with really good, even great quality sound. I'm stoked that such a simple system and a modern high tech look will make the room sound amazing. For more than 2 instruments and a vocal I am using a mixer feeding it into the line inputs like any other of these type systems and it sounds great. Very impressed and extremely happy. In my humid environment I was recommended to steer away from the Bose system, and with my isolated spot on the globe I would need to send a Bose to another Island or the Mainland for inevitable repairs, so I went with this and I love it. :)

I'm a performing singer/songwriter, wedding singer, nursing home entertainer and church worship director since 2001.

The quality of my sound is VERY important to me.

I'm convinced that a column PA is exactly the best tool for what I do. The column systems that are now coming out like the Eon One makes things very exciting for the singing instrument playing artist who needs to put an iPod on during breaks or during set up or tear down. I purchased a JBL Eon One system to replace my LD System's Maui 28 column system a couple months ago.

First, I'll start with a list of what's important to me and then where this system does the job or fails...

Here's what's important to me.
1. Portability
2. Set-up/tear-down time
3. Built in mixer
4. Sound quality
5. Sound dispersion (horizontal and vertical widths of coverage)
6. How far the sound carries before dropping off
7. Quality of unit, durability
8. Price
9. Feedback rejection

Here's my thoughts after two months of usage at weddings, restaurants and my church.

1. Portability:
It is the best portable solution available since the distance segments and main speaker segment fits into the sub unit creating one solid unit to travel with unlike my last system, the Ld System's Maui 28 which had two separate travel cases (one for the two main speaker segments and one for the sub unit). You will however have to buy the JBL transporter pastored hardened soft case. My Maui system had the padded soft cases included. You would think that all portable units should come with a transport protection case. Silly. The Maui cases didn't include castors and you would have to pay extra for that if you wanted that feature, so it's not too bad.

2. Set-up/tear-down time:
Absolutely the quickest set up. I can set this up in about 1 min. NO EXAGGERATION on that either. I'm not counting running cables like I would have to do with anything, but getting the system ready for cable

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

After trying all the available inputs for sound on this unit, it would not deliver near the sound, volume, and clarity than the Bose L1 Compact I have. I purchased this unit based on the seemingly great reviews and JBL name but immediately returned it after comparing it next to my Bose L1 compact.

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

If you have an acoustic act, stop reading here and go and buy these. One system will sound great. Two will be awesome. I compared these to the Bose L1 and these are better. They have significantly more bass and overall presence. My Taylor Acoustic guitar sounds incredible through these. They were designed for acoustic guitar and do not disappoint. I also have a Motown band with bass, guitar, drums, 3 horns and male and female vocals and the question was whether they would do the job for the band. So far, I am pleased. They have a great sound and are loud and clear. The sound quality is superior to my Berringer 1x15 & horn PA speakers. They do not get mid-range distortion at loud volumes. Because the mixer section of the JBL is not sufficient for a band, I am continuing to use my Berringer mixer with the JBL's but this is easy. I simply run a single cable to each JBL from the left and right preamp of the mixer. This allows me to use the 10 channel board and built in vocal effects. I noticed that they disperse sound really well and you do not have the issue of the speakers being super loud right in front of them and then not so loud a few feet to the side. There is one caveat. These are really built for an acoustic setting and I generally end up setting the JBL's pretty close to full volume. However, they have handled it just fine so far and they sound good. They have plenty of bass and I am able to set them behind the band and they do not feedback. I wish that they had a bit more power so that I would not have to drive them so hard. However, they weigh about 40 pounds each and I can carry the entire PA in one trip. They don't distort, get hot or show any other ill effects of being driven hard so I am thinking that they will be okay. We play small to medium venues and I think they are going to be a great, portable addition to my setup.

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

This PA speaker seemingly has a mixer with two microphone inputs. Don't think you will be using those...the volume from the microphone inputs is awfully poor. So I connect my Mackie Mixer to the Eon One using the 1/8" jack. I quite like the sound quality, and via the mixer, the volume is great, good fidelity of the music. I had planned to return it, then I compared this unit to what is out there in terms of PA speakers; this was better in my ears than the Bose L1 and an expensive Yamaha speaker of the same price range. So I'm keeping the Eon One. But JBL, please work on the microphone pre-amps if you want to keep selling these. I'm recommending this because of the powerful volume, bass and fidelity but as noted above, don't bother to use the mike inputs.

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

When I saw the One I researched it, found a good thread about it on Acoustic Guitar Forum, and read reviews. One con was low gain for line inputs. I bought it back in August. I decided to buy it because of its compactness, portability, affordability, included sub, the built-in mixer, and high praise for its sound and even coverage.

      My Gear
T5z or acoustic electric guitar and ELT Edwina condenser mic into a VoiceLive 3 Extreme (VL3x). BeatBuddy drum machine pedal, Shure PSM300 IEM.

      Vocal and Guitar Routing
On the VL3x I put the XLRs outputs in dual mono mode where vocals are on one channel and guitar on the other channel. These go to channels 1/2 on the One. The guitar outputs on the VL3x are set to carry the backing track/loop audio. These go to line-in channels 3/4 on the One. Since the line-in gain on the One isn't strong I had to increase the output of the backing track/loop audio on the VL3x to 12db (the highest it would go). This provided a good signal to the One with room left over to get louder if needed.

      Monitoring
If I use the monitor out from the JBL One I only get the main mix, but when monitoring I really want a little more vocals than guitar or backing track/loop. I use the headphone outs on the VL3x to monitor, because I can adjust the volume of the individual elements on the VL3x's headphone mix menu. The monitor outs on the JBL One could be used to add another speaker if I needed more coverage.

      BeatBuddy
The BeatBuddy connects to the VL3x midi in to keep the VL3x's effects & looper in sync with the BeatBuddy. I use the 1/4" L & R outputs from the BeatBuddy to the 1/8" stereo aux input (channels 5/6) on the One.

The One really does sound very good and even. Having the sub is a nice add, as it allows the BeatBuddy, backing tracks, and intermission music to sound full. It also brings out the fullness of the guitar. I am happy with my purchase.

Comments about JBL EON ONE Linear-Array PA System with 6-Channel Mixer:

Yes, it's true, when I took it out of the box, I was disappointed. I had it wide open in my living room, and yes, it was pretty loud....for my living room....but it certainly wouldn't make it at a gig. But I bought a Yamaha MG-06 mixer to plug into it, and that made all the difference! It needs a pre-amped board to make it loud enough....and btw, the sound is absolutely fantastic! I play at wedding ceremonies,,,and then I also play at the social hour time after the ceremony. I'm getting another JBL EON ONE so I don't have to set up between the ceremony & social hour. I love this system! :)

Love the sound of the eon one I decided to give the column speakers a go I went to the shop to look at the different ones they had there The three I like at were RCFE evox The Bose l1 compact and the Jbl eon one the Rcf sounded too sharp and in your face to me the Bose sounded great but lacked base and when you tried to drive it The sound started to get messy and distorted as for the JBL sounded full and clean with no distortion Plus it was lots louder than the Bose l1 compact . I'm planning on buying another JBL eon one so I can use 2 in larger venues they are Quick and easy to set up if you want to link up to a external mixer just come out of your mixer and in two Channel 1 Xlr on the eon make sure it's on line not mic you won't be disappointed
