JBL's rule and I wouldn't own anything but JBL's. I had a pair of JBL SF15's and the sound was excellent using them, but my only gripe was how heavy they were at 60 pounds each. So I sold them because I didn't need to add insult to injury to myself trying to set these speakers up on stands. (Long story there) So I looked into the EON's and seen they were only 38 pounds each. So I was a bit skeptical on how they would sound because of the weight factor. Man was I ever impressed when I first set them up to hear for the first time. They blew me away! The sound was precise and clear. I should have known better because of them being JBL's. And being light like they are sure took the grunt out of setting them up myself. But I do recommend getting the carrying bags for these speakers as an investment to protect them while traveling gig to gig. In conclusion, for me they have worked out great, but I am only a solo 12 string acoustic/electric guitar and vocal act. I don't know how they would hold up for a 4 or 5 piece band. You would just have to experiment and see how they would work out for such applications. I rest my case.

Years of satisfaction asoundnd great

I purchased these speakers in 2002 and have been using them for everything from 5 piece live band shows to solo acoustic performances and they always deliver 100% awesome sound. I've powered them with a Crown CE1000 and a small yamaha 200w mixer. Either way they work great. The built in handle, heavy case construction yet light weight make them a gigging musicians best friend. Only issue ever was a nut rattled off inside the cabinet. 10 minutes with a power screwdriver was all it took to fix it. After decades of playing, my advice is spend 50% or more of your budget on your PA speakers and start with JBLs. Then add what ever you want and you'll sound like a pro.

Have sold everything but my EONS

By Paul B.

from Winston-Salem,NC

I have been a commercial sound person and musician for 30+ years. I have owned most speakers and PA systems that are commercially available. Six years ago I bought my 1st EON speakers. I now have sold all the rental and personal PA speakers I own and have replaced them ALL, with EONS (Ten Pairs of them). I also have installed EONS in Eight churches, including my own church. I also have assisted 9 different acoustic groups who are all using the EONS now. Great speaker, great value. Thanks JBL.

I'm a 13 year old and i like to DJ at parties as a hobby. i use these speakers with a QSC RMX1450 amp and it's a perfect combonation. I also use the PA system with an American Audio MKII 4 channel mixer, which has effects (like WOW) that really improve the sound quality. I highly recommend JBL and only JBL because other brands either die out easily, or are too expensive for what you get.

JBL Always The Best

By sgt steve

from Appleton,WI

I Have Been A Professional DJ For over 2.5 Decades and have played gigs with all the brands. JBL is the best sounding and quality. I only use these speakers for small venues or portable. These speakers can rock a large room without a sub(A sub always improves the sound)Light weight and very portable These are the original and best sounding poly speakers. I have Compared these to Mackie, Peavey & EV. These won hans down.

great sounding portable, versatile speakers!

By jaii

from West Virginia

I power these speakers with a Mackie 808S and have been pleased with the combination. Having used these both indoors and outdoors, they have proven themselves to "fill" the room (or deck, if outdoors) at moderate levels, but also rock the room at higher levels. Not only are they a lightweight alternative to other heavier mains, they also serve as fantastic monitors if other mains are used. I currently own 2 passive, 2 powered (Eon15), and am considering buying eon subs to enhance the kick drum and bass guitar.

Great volume, should definitely use with a sub.

Well at first I wasn't very impressed with these then I started to xplore there capabilties, Then I found that they work awesome as Vocal PA speakers, Quite well for any type of music as long as you cross them over and use a subwoofer (they don't produce much low end at all) But what can you expect from such a small enclosure...They are REALLY light and mobile they are VERY responsive and Don't need alot of power to make em' loud but when you crank em they can get a little muddy..

Great quality sound for the price

By A Good Music fan

from Sacramento, CA

Great quality sound, I can't believe it for this price range. I heard a pair of this speakers in a place on the street where I search some special jazz and new age CD's in the weekend, and the sound, regarding the outdoor application, was really good. Thats why I own four of these already.
