I bought the 515's to replace an older passive system. Their best attribute is the convenience of the integrated amps and their portability. They are ridiculously light.I ordered the 515s and a pair of the 518S subs, but they arrived a day apart. When I got the 515's, I tried them out by themselves and initially, I was really concerned about the output. They sounded really nice at low volumes, but if you boost the low frequencies and turn them up, they peak fairly easily. Bass eats up that 350 watts pretty fast.Once I got the subs and split the signal with the built-in high-pass filter, it was a different story. I ended up getting really nice and unexpected clarity and tone. Vocals and guitar were reproduced nicely - and at significant volume.I've only used them in small spaces so far, and the output was sufficient. I am anxious to see how they do in larger venues. Based on the specifications, I would have expected to have a bit more headroom than I do. Looks like I will routinely run them at about 90%. Again, their real value is in convenience and portability. You have to take that into consideration.I would have also liked to have seen a more detailed user manual. It's very basic.Overall, I am happy with them, but will say that based on my applications, I would not purchase them without subs. Subs make a huge difference in getting the most out of the available power in 515's.

I purchase a pair of 515 to do a Jazz Gig, I do live sound for a Youth Jazz Big Band. I was disapointed to find the these PA's have a very low volume output for there size. What I later found is that they actually have a VERY high input requirement to get the available power, I think this is a design flaw, I would have expected better from JBL. If they wanted to do this I would think a PAD button would have been better. I have seen postings that suggest using the MIC/input to fix this issue. This worked very poorly for me. The mic position is very hot and the Input is very cold. The overall sound is great and the construction and weight is outstanding, but this input issue makes them almost unusable. If you choose to buy this PA make sure you listen to the PA at 100% volume with your gear or simular gear attached, I wish I had!!

Comments about JBL EON515 450 Watt 15" Powered PA Speaker:
One of these died on us before our second gig. They were highly recommended but MAJOR FAIL. Would get Mackies next time...live and learn I guess.

I use these regulary with a 6 piece rock band. Inside and out and they sound great. I always get compliments on the sound. They have no problem keeping up with a ftr37 and a SVT... and we run the keys and drums through them at the same time. They just keep cranking night after night. A clear winner in the I don't want a hernia by 30 catgory.

I purchased these to replace my Mackie 450's. They dont produce enough volume for there watts and the speakers boom from behind leaving your head pounding at the end of the night
Comments about JBL EON515 450 Watt 15" Powered PA Speaker:
I use this for a floor monitor for vocals. I bought a cheaper one and mf gladly took it back on a return and sent me this one. The Behringer 1220A was a nice unit, it just had no volume. This thing has volume to spare. It is louder than our practice PA. The one thing JBL could do better would be to put the volume control in a place that would be more convenient for someone using it in this application. OVERALL I say WOW! this unit rocks. Thanks again mf for your fine customer service team.

Comments about JBL EON515 450 Watt 15" Powered PA Speaker:
I play out almost every Friday and Saturday. These have been in the band for 6 months and they are incredible!! I can run as loud or quiet as I need to and they always sound crystal clear. They have held up quite well playing in bars, clubs, inside and out all the time but get the cases for them to keep them nice, they do scratch up easily.
Comments about JBL EON515 450 Watt 15" Powered PA Speaker:
Was looking for a system to perform at local hotspots along with the occasional 400-500 crowd. Must say these speakers are probably the most versatile i've seen with clarity throughout the entire spectrum. Reviews do not give these speakers justice. Followed up with the 518 sub and we have the perfect light-weight package. Many reviews flaw the volume however we have yet to max the speakers. Excellent choice
Comments about JBL EON515 450 Watt 15" Powered PA Speaker:
I'm the owner of a latin music band playing almost salsa music. I bought a pair of these JBL 515's a couple of weeks ago to replace my Peavey PR-12's, the sound improvement was amazing. Cristal clear on voices and the bass punch is powerful. I'm combining them with a Behringer PMP5000 for large venues and a Behringer PMP1000 for small to mid venues, just using the mixer power for my monitors, the sound on this combination is amazing. Just waiting to sell my old equipment to get one JBL EON 518 subwoofer.
Comments about JBL EON515 450 Watt 15" Powered PA Speaker:
Got a pair of these EONS and it hits hard at all my gigs, crisp highs and solid lows. The built in amp doesnt get hot, in fact just a little warm, very little. And yes its lightweight baby!
Comments about JBL EON515 450 Watt 15" Powered PA Speaker:
I bought these speakers on a recommendation from a friend and I am very happy that I did. They sound and look fantastic. I cannot get over as to how lightweight they are with the built in amp. Most of the rooms I work accommodate about 300 people and the speakers handle the room just fine. The only disappointment is in the so called "Rebate" offer, that enticed me at the time of purchase. The wording is slightly deceptive resulting in my purchase not qualifying for the rebate. Harmon Kardon also did not respond to my inquiries, leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Poor customer service.
