OVERVIEW

Correct room acoustics with 3D imaging and filters for accurate mixing.

The KRK ERGO Room Correction System brings you close to the acoustics of a perfect room. A great mix starts with a great recording room. But when it comes to achieving the most accurate mix, your room may have the upper hand. Like any room, your studio's acoustics include offending frequencies and room reflections, and none of these help your mix. Getting a handle on these problems has traditionally meant the installation of soft foam or fabrics, which is a great start. But now you can get even closer to a perfect room, and a perfect mix, with help from ERGO Room Correction System.

While conventional room correction systems utilize simple analysis and limited bands of EQ (often fewer than 8), ERGO uses multiple measurements and proprietary algorithms. This sophisticated room analysis and correction system within ERGO, "RoomPerfect", was developed by Lyngdorf Audio in Denmark after many years of research and development by some of the best audio engineers in the world. It creates a 3D image of the room and then applies 1024 dynamic filters to control the audio environment. This 3D model allows users to preserve the good characteristics of the room, while correcting the bad. It doesn't color the sound or produce an artificially sterile environment, but it does produce a "best" mix for a given room - one that will translate better to other listening environments, since it was mixed in a "perfect" room.

ERGO integrates with all PC and Mac-based computer recording systems. In these environments, it appears as a standard FireWire audio interface, so setup is easy and compatibility is assured. With its analog inputs you can still use whatever non-computer-based recording hardware you are currently using without having to reconfigure your system. In analog mode, it sits between your existing recording interface or mixer and your speakers. It also integrates with Pro Tools by allowing a S/PDIF signal to be digitally connected. Because all processing resides inside ERGO, no overhead is needed from the computer audio system.

Comments about KRK ERGO Room Correction System:

I'm finally here! and have to say the folks at KRK showed out with this one,and customer service held true to their word for I had a slight hang up when I first got it,it took a minute to get it back, but honestly it was worth the wait, now this unit is not a magic wand so beginners new to recording beware learn your room, check for correct monitors etc. with that in place for I had to do about 4 or 5 takes befor I got the hang of shooting the room with ergo but once i got that down pat the results were amazing i could now here my tweaks oh and it totally eliminated the need to re EQ my mixes after final mixdown and where i had to make 1000 trips(it seemed like it Lol!!) to the car to check the mix Lol!!(drove me crazy)now only takes two mabey three,ERGO is like haveing a seasoned engineer(I'm talkin bout one from the old school when stuff was mixed right and accurate)70's 80's 90's in the room with you helping you mix I'll put it like this on a end note if my ergo got lost or stolen or just died on me I would buy another one get this unit if your tired like me of MUGGY MUDDY MIXES

    Works Well

Comments about KRK ERGO Room Correction System:

I was having low frequency translation problems and instead of filling the corners with bass traps I bought this. It definitely works. Once the bottom end was under control I could hear the mids and highs much better as well. If you don't want to fill the corners of your room with bass traps, this is the answer; along with some treatment for flutter echo and early reflections on the hard surfaces, such as Auralex. I've had it for a few months now and I'm impressed. It's not voodoo BS. The price is a little high for what it is, but I'm satisfied with the results it gives. You can have the best monitors in the world but if the acoustics of the room aren't under control, there's no point. Ergo does that.
