I've mixed and mastered tracks with more than 5 different headphones and these are hands down the best. In my personal opinion, these are one of the best headphones for mixing music in it's price range.

These KRK KNS-8400 headphones are the most comfortable headphones i've ever owned. They also sound amazing. I really like the way the cord is detachable. This means that the cord can easily be replaced if it gets damaged. I have only had these for a couple of weeks - so i can't speak for longevity - but they seem very well made.

In general they sound awesome; really clear and isolated. They sound as loud as it has to be. They seem poor designed although I'm hoping KRK wanted to make them light but durable. Before buying them I saw some reviews about people working with them 7 or 8 hours without getting exhausted but it does not apply to me since after a few hours (2 or 3) editing I definitely have to take them off for about 20 minutes.

I am going to keep it because I can use an extra headphone.
I am very much like others engineers looking for new age/technology headphone or monitors to see what benefits can bringing to the better mix. I found that 8400 is way less then I expected in terms of quality of the sound.
I found that it is not usable for Mix. It may help to get instrument level, but not to eq for the tone.
It is average.

Big sound change!
Soon as I put these puppies on , the sound was fantastic! I could tell a big difference from the headphones I was using. The bass was well rounded. Now it will be a pleasure to mix my songs

I don't at all regret buying these headphones. I bought them mainly based on KRK's reputation for monitors and have not been disappointed. They are pretty flat, and will allow you to do a pretty good job at mixing if you don't have, or don't have access to monitors. The biggest reason why I didn't give them a 5 star rating is because of the build quality. Not that they're falling apart or anything, they just have a somewhat fragile, lightweight feel to them. I have a pair of Shure SRH440s which are not as expensive, but I still prefer to use because they are heavier and more thickly padded. But this may not be an issue at all for some people. Different strokes for different folks. Don't get me wrong I do like these. I think they'd be great for a drummer to record with because they do grip your head pretty securely. Not uncomfortably, but securely. I guess it depends on the size of your head too, but they are tighter than my Shures. Overall I'm glad I got them. If you like KRK stuff, you'll like these. That's the main reason I got them. But KRK does make pretty good stuff so go for it.

ok so i purchased these in search or a way to mix things when i cant run my monitors, and i made the best decision ever. they are pretty flat in sound reproduction and im able to listen through these hours and hours at a time. i cant tell u about other products or which one to chose due to these are the only mixing headphones i have ever used but they definitely work great and u cant go wrong. get u a pair maybe 2.. work excelent in the booth to, not alot of sound leakage and unlike the guy in the last review my pair get WAY loud, louder then i would like it to sometimes... some people dont respect other peoples things and turn it all the way up, which could blow these but havnt been blown yet so i guess that makes the product better?

While these are not as loud as what i'm used to(Sennheiser HD280), they seem to be very accurate, and do not color the sound at all. Appear to be well built, although i would have preferred a thicker cord attachment. With KRK monitors being used in so many pro studios, i'm sure checking my mixes on these headphones will be an improvement.

I just got these headphones for Christmas and they are terrific! I recently recorded an EP on a pair of KRK Rokit 8's, and when I got these, I ran to my computer and listened to the master copy. Nothing changed in the sound whatsoever. The treble was still perfect, as well as the midrange and bass level. The only problem is if you're playing a heavier style of music and blasting the volume, you will get a slight "crunch" sound. Other than that, these are very "honest" headphones. I recommend these for any recording engineers/mixers/mastering specialists/etc. who need a pair of headphones that will put out the exact same sound you put into it, without being limited to one room or disturbing others. These were a steal!
