KRK

KRK's glass-aramid cone technology sets a new standard with even better performance and accuracy!

KRK's Rokit G2 (Generation 2) powered studio monitor delivers amazing performance and accuracy for the home or project studio at a very accessible price. The G2 Rokit has radically curved edges which virtually eliminate diffraction and provides a wider sweet spot. The Rokit G2 also features a great looking cabinet with a front-firing bass port and KRK's trademark yellow glass-aramid composite woofer and soft-domed tweeters. Dual high-power amplifiers in each speaker and active crossovers provide smooth and accurate reproduction. The Rokit monitor has the most accurate response curve in its class ensuring that you hear all of the details in your mix.

The KRK RokitG2 Series takes value-priced monitors to a different performance level. All of the great stuff that Rokit monitors have been known for (front-firing bass port, soft-domed tweeter, glass aramid composite yellow cone) are still there, but the G2 Rokit studio monitors feature refined voicing and a curved baffle that looks great, reduces diffraction, and provides even better monitoring accuracy.

No Pain With Gain

Why compromise gain structure to achieve a comfortable listening level? As musicians and recording people themselves, KRK asked that question too. So each Generation 2 Rokit monitor comes with an Input Volume Control that provides an adjustable gain range from +6dB to -30dB. Just another way the Rokit lets you focus on your mix, and not on compatibility concerns.

Catch A Wave, For A 3D Mix

Recessed tweeters may look the same, but they don't perform the same. KRK has designed a superior tweeter wave guide for the Rokit monitor that provides optimal high frequency pattern control and focuses the sound outward, away from the cabinet. More conventional designs direct sound along the plane of the cabinet where waveform interaction can cause phase problems and increased diffraction. KRK knows a properly engineered high frequency wave guide is a critical component to great sound, and one key to KRK's award winning performance.

You've Got Connections

At KRK, the focus is your mix. But it doesn't stop at creating accurate monitors. KRK appreciates the need for monitors that not only sound great but work easily into your particular set up. That's why you'll find plenty of input options with your Rokit monitor, sure to accommodate any studio environment. So if it's RCA, quarter-Inch (balanced/unbalanced) or XLR inputs you require, Rockit has got you covered.

Even More Accurate Than Before

KRK took a great monitor series and made it better. KRK's engineers and listening panel took the Generation 2 Rokits' speaker voicing to even more accurate levels. What you hear is what you are intended to hear, coloration is not part of the spec. This performance is brought to you by drivers that are custom-designed by KRKs world-class studio monitor engineering team, for clear, low-distortion performance.

Take Control

While your Generation 2 Rokit leaves the factory voiced to demanding specs, KRK also knows that no two rooms "sound" the same. As such, each Rokit monitor comes equipped with a high-frequency level control. This feature provides specific adjustment of high frequency output most commonly affected by room acoustics. It's just one extra level of control that KRK gives you to ensure the most accurate mix for your particular room's acoustics.

Don't Be Square, Curves Ahead

The Gen 2 Rockit studio monitor looks different, so it can sound better, and in a wider "sweet spot". Traditional rectangular speakers suffer from diffraction as sounds leaving the edge of the cabinet are reflected back into the original sound field, and at different time intervals. This phase distortion creates a "narrow" or "boxy" sound. The Generation 2 Rokit series eliminates this issue with radically engineered curved surfaces, so diffraction is virtually eliminated. Simply put, you'll get better sound in a wider area.

Let's Be Up Front

Other monitors have ports on the back of the cabinet. These rear-firing ports tend to create bass coupling with walls and corners amplifying low frequency information which will color your mix. The KRK Generation 2 Rokit studio monitor's design includes front-firing ports, which are just the right shape and taper to reduce port turbulence. You'll appreciate the clean and accurate bass performance this approach delivers, even at high SPL's.

Power Up!

A great sounding monitor doesn't stop with a great cabinet and custom drivers. KRKs true bi-amplified amplifier system provides discrete low-distortion power for each driver. While the active crossover systems provide smooth and accurate frequency response, and again, accurate diffraction control.

Note: Price reflects a single unit.

KRK Studio Monitors

Look no further for studio monitors I have these in my home and my interface doesn't have the 1/4" connection. I was told that they would sound much better if I had the larger cables.  The base is scary it's so loud. No distortion even when you turn it up. Also like the yellow speaker baffle and the small light behind the KRK logo to let you know the power is on.  Very classy design.

GET THESE SPEAKERS! They are amazing. I've had mine for weeks and I am so impressed that I am taking the time to write this review. Sound quality to construction? What you hear is what is on your recordings. Freq response is most impressive. Lower lows than you would think and the soft dome tweets on the highs excellent. Perfect near field monitors. CAUTION on the size of these speakers. In the pictures they all look the same size, but they get progressively larger. I initially got the F6 and they were so big but sounded so good I didn't want to return them. Bottom line, I did return them for something that would fit better on my desk, and the F5s are just as amazing. I don't notice the few extra missing Hz on the low end. Very responsive, punchy, accurate sound reproduction speakers. Products can be art, can have a soul, flawlessly executed, exceeding all expectations. This is one of those products.

Overall, I was made a fool of by these things. I doubted them and they shoved their awesome sauce in my face. I read some reviews of people saying these babies couldn't go loud enough and I must say that is a user error. These things shake my windows, and you think I'm joking when I say that.     If you are thinking about getting these, do, you won't find better.

Has everything you need and just a tad more.

I can't believe these are only 5 inch monitors. They blew my mind, I took them out of the box being like,     "they are kind of small".     I plugged them in and I was proven wrong. Size can be deceiving with these monsters.

In my opinion the best 5 inch monitors with an amp you can get on the market. These things sound bigger then some 6 inch monitors I have heard.

This is first time I have written a review and to be honest, it's the first time I have had something worthy of such acclaim. These speakers are absolutely amazing. After hooking them up and listening to some music, I was speechless. If you are putting together a home studio, get these... end of story. Even if you don't record, these speakers will let you hear your music the way it was meant to be heard. You hear every nuance and subtlety  that most speakers just can't reproduce. Bottom line, you will not be disappointed.

Not for POD X3 Live users

Looking for the perfect live solution to use with my Pod X3 live, I decided to give active monitors a try. I first tried the M-Audio BX5a. Incrdible sound with the X3L - but I experienced some popping on one of the speakers so I exchanged for these - based on all the hype. I was not impressed. I hooked up my X3L direct using XLR's. The speaker volume was way low using the guitar, and I couldn't even hear my MP3 backing tracks over the guitar. I increased volume to max on all devices, and still not... very loud. I reconnected the X3L using 1/4" line outs. OK, now they got loud. Unfortunately, this setup causes A LOT of clipping and distorts the KRK's something awful. In order to stop the clipping, I had to turn the volume WAY down - back to the point where they aren't very loud. I later found out that these KRK's are only 35 watts! That's half of the M-audios. Not sure what all the hype is about, but I was not impressed. Unfortunately, I am going back to GC for my 5th exchange and going back to the M-audio's. They sound gorgeous with the POD X3L. I'll just have to deal with the quality issues and get the extended warranty.
