No Pain With Gain
Why compromise gain structure to achieve a comfortable listening level? As musicians and recording people themselves, KRK asked that question too. So each Generation 2 Rokit monitor comes with an Input Volume Control that provides an adjustable gain range from +6dB to -30dB. Just another way the Rokit lets you focus on your mix, and not on compatibility concerns.
Catch A Wave, For A 3D Mix
Recessed tweeters may look the same, but they don't perform the same. KRK has designed a superior tweeter wave guide for the Rokit that provides optimal high frequency pattern control and focuses the sound outward, away from the cabinet. More conventional designs direct sound along the plane of the cabinet where waveform interaction can cause phase problems and increased diffraction. KRK knows a properly engineered high frequency wave guide is a critical component to great sound, and one key to KRK's award winning performance.

Take Control
While your Generation 2 Rokit monitor leaves the factory voiced to demanding specs, KRK also knows that no two rooms "sound" the same. As such, each Rokit speaker comes equipped with a High Frequency Level Control. This feature provides specific adjustment of high frequency output most commonly affected by room acoustics. It's just one extra level of control that KRK gives you to ensure the most accurate mix for your
particular room's acoustics.
Don't Be Square, Curves Ahead
The new Rockit monitor looks different, so it can sound better, and in a wider "sweet spot". Traditional rectangular speakers suffer from diffraction as sounds leaving the edge of the cabinet are reflected back into the original sound field, and at different time intervals. This phase distortion creates a "narrow" or boxy" sound. The Generation 2 Rokit series eliminates this issue with radically engineered curved surfaces, so diffraction is virtually eliminated. Simply put, you'll get better sound in a wider area.
Let's Be Up Front
Take a look at competitive monitors and you'll find ports on the back of the cabinet. These rear-firing ports tend to create bass coupling with walls and corners amplifying low frequency information which will color your mix. GOOD
MONITORS
I bought these at a cool price. I'm thinkin maybe it's because they were blems or B Stock. The paint on the plastic face was a little bumpy. Looks like a rattle can job. Also, it didn't match the color of the rest of the enclosure. There was quite a difference. The enclosure paint was a greenish blue. Other than that, the build quality is similar to that of competing chinese built monitors. The only significant difference is the quality of the sound. Waaaaay better than the M-Audio's. I was disappointed to discover a undefeatable 40hz high pass filter. I make music with information down to the 20HZ range and I need my monitors to try and recreate this. M-audio does the same thing. They do it to protect their woofers from over-excursion. Understandable I suppose but a turn off for me. I was pleased upon listening, despite this issue, they didn't have the exaggerated treble and boomy bass like the M-Audio's so things still sound linear and very listenable. The midrange resolution is where they shine. They also revealed previous mixing mistakes. They get reasonably loud. The KRK logo lights up. These monitors lack any useful controls. The treble pad on the back is useless. They say you need it when your room is too live. BS if you ask me. If a monitor has flat frequency response out the box you don't need to adjust anything except the bass. Even then you should treat your room and position your self and your speakers better before going to the EQ. A continuously variable high pass filter to help integrate with a subwoofer would be the most useful addition to this monitor set. I suppose all of my issues with this set are acceptable at this price point. To expect perfection I suppose I should have gotten the expose's or VXT's. If you dont need a subwoofer and just want to mix well for a fair price, grab 'em.

Great speakers that won't empty your wallet (or max your credit card).
RCA, 1/4" TRS, and XLR jacks are nice, so no need to piece together adapters
The level and tone controls are also nice for adjusting to whatever sized space you have.
A foam, skid-proof pad is glued to the bottom (good idea KRK) to dampen vibrations and keep the speakers from scooting off of whatever surface you set them on.
This is my first set of studio monitors, so I have nothing else to compare them to. (Probably can't really compare different monitors anyway unless you have them side-by-side.)
But I don't have any complaints with the Rokit 6's - they sound great!
I got these on special - the Rokit 6 Blue "Special Edition" for the same regular price as the Rokit 5.
I'd say that's a pretty good value.

Previously To Buying This Awesome Monitor, I Picked Up A Pair Of Rokit 8's With Stage Stands. I Love The 8's, But Wanted A Monitor For More Of A Mono Mix. I Grabbed A Single 6 & Am Very Pleased With My Purchase. I'd Recommend This To Anyone Who Is Looking To Mix The Higher End. Great Find, Great Buy!

Great finish and solid build quality. These speakers are very versitile for whatever hook ups you could have and have a great sound. I am using these as an over the top music set up on my computer and run them with a cambridge audio Dac Magic and B&K Ref 5 for control. While not necisary adding a subwoofer behind these is an added bonus. The bass is great down to the 50 hz rating with no distortion. I was orginally worried about the SPL they would put out since they do not have a ton of power behind them, but now i am a believer.
I bought these speakers completly off of what I read in fourms and this is my first pair of powered monitors. I just pulled them out and I am letting run through their break in period but I am very happy with these. The blue is a high quality finish similar to what you would see on a car paint and looks very cool.
Very well constructed and they have a following for a reason. There is only a tiney inperfection i noticed on the paint on the inside of a seam between the front and main box. You have to really look for it and I only see it on one of my speakers so its just per chance.
You would be hard pressed to find a better value then these KRK's at their price point not on sale. With the price they are going for new you should just buy them.
