One thing 1st, please:

To "Britfunk" from WV, who wrote a review on these on 12/11/11 or so, Ok. ANY musician with experience will be able to tell that no, one DOES NOT put an Electric Bass thru these. Or even go line out from bass amp to these. NOT designed for it. Not even a synth bass. Even miking a bass drum would cause damage to the woofer. Mid to high frequencies is what it can handle, and provided you don't crank the volume/OD it. That being said....

I own a Harbinger HA120 P.A. amp head, 4 channels. Just the head; got it cheap from a pawn shop. Called the Harbinger Co. to inquire about buying the speakers that came with it. Rep said they don't sell them separately; but a good substitute would be these Kustom KPC12's. So, got a pair, and they sound great! They DO put out some great bass response, at modified volume levels. One could play a coffeehouse gig/small gig with these, and do fine. 20-80 peeps in a venue; your outfit will be heard. Or a backyard party. At one time, a band had to rely on 100 watt P.A systems in clubs. Back in the 50s-60s-70s. Can you imagine Van Halen, Aerosmith, the Stones, Beatles, the Who....etc...being heard thru a small P.A. Me neither, but it happened.

Bottom line: get these. For the price, they do well. I wanna get the KPC 15's. Recommended.

I purchased these cabs new from Musician's Friend, and I admit the sound is pretty incredible for so little money. When we're playing smaller venues with our acoustic trio they perform very well indeed and overall I have been impressed.

That said, the last gig I did with them the woofers started buzzing and distorting terribly. After emailing back and forth with a rep from Kustom it was determined that even though I was well within the power handling of the speakers I had probably damaged the woofers by running my electric bass through it, and I was advised that they really weren't designed to reproduce those frequencies (my bass is a four-string tuned EADG).

I was initially pretty annoyed, in that it appeared that I would have to pay shipping for the cabinets both to Kustom and back to me for warranty work. After a bit of discussion with the Kustom rep, he felt comfortable with my working on the cabinets and sent two replacement woofers to me in-warranty on Kustom's dime. I did replace the speakers and the cabinets are as good as new, so I do have to give credit due to the company for flexibility and a desire to take care of their customers.
Small footprint and weight is managable. Good-looking cabinets, though they do get little dings really easily. I am kind of uptight about my gear and take really good care of it - I don't mind honest wear, but these look broken-in pretty quickly.
Having been in the guts of these cabinets I will state that the internal build quality is pretty good. They're solid gear that should take a reasonable amount of normal use without failure.

I can't stress enough, do NOT run heavy bass through these speakers and you should be just fine. I decided to start taking my normal bass rig to gigs and running just the high end of the bass guitar through the PA (sort of a cheap and dirty bi-amping for bass) for better projection out front.

I'll also mention that I inquired of Kustom if the KPC15 would be a better choice for running electric bass in our group (rather than sherp around my bass amp) and was told, "they're really not designed to run a bass through."
If you're not pushing heavy bass through them I absolutely recommend them. They're well-built, solid, and the clarity is amazing for the price.

Comments about Kustom PA KPC12 12" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I have had these speakers for quite a while now, and i have been disappointed. They are nice speakers if you're gonna play for a crowd of 20-50 people, but any more than that you will have a lot of trouble. I am currently pushing them through a Behringer EUROPOWER PMP980S and you will find even when they are being used within their power rating, they sometimes rattle when you play bass guitar through them. On the other hand, though, they can really crank out some treble volume. So, the bottom line is, if you want a set of speakers to practice with or play VERY small venues, then these will work. But, use them for anything that has loud bass, and you will be toast. :-)

Comments about Kustom PA KPC12 12" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I use 4 peavey PR-12 speakers for a notive american Drum that plays outside all the time. I recently started playing with a small group again and we purchased these for the "Garage practice room" I was amazed that they sounded better than the Peavey pr-12 tha I have been using. I am sung a 150watt head and a small mixing board and to date these are as good a quality as I have seen in this type of speaker.

Comments about Kustom PA KPC12 12" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

Unbelievable sound and quality at an unbelievably low price! I have had these speakers for 5 months and am still thrilled. I have performed in duos, trios, and 4 -6 piece gigging blues/rock bands for 28 years, these are the best sounding, and least noisy pa speakers I've worked with. Perfect volume and size for any 3-5 piece band, unless the guitarist and bassist have really small amps. I recommend these to any gigging musicians.

Comments about Kustom PA KPC12 12" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I bought a set of these about 6 months ago to use with an old (mid 80's) EV 6 channel powered mixer. I use them for a solo show and open mic jam session with vocals, acoustic guitar(s), banjo, sometimes keyboards/drum machine. They sound good, are lightweight with comfortable handles, seem to fit well on stands. I also use them as vocal stage monitors when I play with a band - They work well for that application too. Keep in mind that these are small speakers intended for small venues. You can't power a metal band in an arena with them!!!As a comparison, one of the venues I play has a Fender PD500 as a house system. My system has crisper highs, fuller bass and more volume. There is enough of a difference that I will bring my own rather than use theirs.

Comments about Kustom PA KPC12 12" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

First of all, the price of these speakers is unbeatable for the sound quality they produce. I use them for general purpose sound reinforcement here and there and the they get the job done. If you're wondering about bass, there is not much. Two of these and a subwoofer would make a great small PA system. I am using a 150w per channel amp and that is plenty to make these speakers come to life. Look no further than these!

Comments about Kustom PA KPC12 12" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

Speakers where delivered on time and in excellent condition. My setup is not very big, but it has very good sound now. They are rated at 100 rms, and they perform to every specification listed flawlessly. Distortion is not an issue with this line of speakers.

I would also like to point out that the salesperson did not try to sell me components that I did not need. She looked up the specifications of my older mixer and offered these speakers as a good solution. I was ready to scratch my older system until I made this purchase. I do not have a lot of money to throw away, and her professionalism really matters to me.

Trust is important to all of us these days. These fine folks have earned mine.

Since my earlier review, one of my kpc12s has devoloped a rattle. I don't think that it's a problem with the driver, rather, i think that something in the cab got loose, and is causing a racket; mainly on the low bass notes. As far as i know i have not used it above it's power rating. I guess you truly do get what you pay for.

Comments about Kustom PA KPC12 12" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I have a three piece band and we're hoping to get some small gigs, so i started shopping for pa equipment. I already have the behringer xenyx 1202, and i also have a small 2x75w amp. I didn't have a lot of $$ so i started looking at the kustom kpc series. When i finally got 2 of the kpc12's and pulled them out of the box, i was surprised at how big they are. The first thing the lead singer in my band said was "wow those are big!" Anyway, they sound decent (they have a little bit of a 'sharp' sound, but i guess that's typical for pa speakers.) I haven't really tested them out fully because i only have a 2x75w amp. So far they've been great.

Comments about Kustom PA KPC12 12" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

Got these speakers because my budget was tight and needed to do a small gig (wedding). I hooked them up and of course cranked em for all they had. Surprisingly clear and VERY loud. I have built competition car audio vehicles for many years, all have been trophy vehicles and the loudness of these speakers impressed me. They are NOT subwoofers. The mid and high ranges are good. Add lows to the equation and you will get distortion. Distortion is what will blow a speaker not power. Use these as intended and they rock. The price speaks for itself.
Mids and highs. I will look into getting subwoofers as an addition to complete the setup. These speakers are LOUD

Comments about Kustom PA KPC12 12" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

These Kustom speakers are a great comprimize between size and sound ! When a subwoofer is added they will work for many public events .
For PA use they work great in pairs ... just add more pairs for bigger events . They are well built and not heavy to carry . These are an excellent value and will last a long time .

Amazing sound and quality construction for incredibly low price. Great value!!!
I am a solo acoustic performer. Excellent vocal and acoustic guitar sound reproduction. Handles plenty of volume and gives a fairly true acoustic sound output. I use a 300 watt powered head---NO problem !!!
