OVERVIEW

10" passive monitor at a working musician's price.

The Kustom KPX 110M passive monitor cabinet packs a lot of value into a compact, affordable package. This full-range cabinet offers fantastic audio quality. A specially voiced crossover maintains clear separation of frequencies for crisp detailed sound reproduction. The cabinet's 10" woofer delivers punchy low frequencies, while the horn reproduces all the clear high tones. The KPX110M is equipped with two parallel input/output jacks which allow additional passive cabinets to be connected (do not connect to powered speaker cabinets). The KPX series has been designed to withstand years of active duty with sturdy metal grilles, stout handles, and a high quality, heavy-duty finish. The cabs also offer 30, 60, and 90 positioning, along with a 1 3/8 pole mount insert.

This is a competent floor monitor for vocals in a smaller portable PA.

My main PA speakers are a pair of EV SxA360s on top of EV SB2A/SB122 subs. Not big, but certainly loud for its size. This monitor works OK at this level.

I would not consider using this as a main PA speaker for any application.

Its frequency response and power rating makes it good for vocals only. With its 150W peak power rating, I'm afraid that at a suitable volume for vocals, a bass drum thump might shoot the voice coil right out of the speaker. It is efficient enough for decent vocal SPL at low power. The piezo horn? I don't like them at all, but its acceptable in this rig. The cabinet is well made and compact. The empty cabinet is worth the sale price.

I bought this on sale to try it out and will buy more if it goes on sale again. I would not consider paying the full price for it. 5 stars for its VALUE on sale.

Comments about Kustom PA KPX110M 10" Passive Monitor:

I recently used this passive monitor with a full PA for a gig for the first time, and I could not be happier with the result. The sound was clear and crisp, and it was a great improvement from our earlier attempts to coordinate the levels of four independent boutique acoustic amps (Fishman, 60 watt, two channel). The monitor in conjunction with the PA made the gig all that much better. I recommend it.

There is a less expensive Kustom model that seems to offer the same specs, but the case is a little more bulky. I do not know which offers the better value, but I am pleased with my purchase.

Comments about Kustom PA KPX110M 10" Passive Monitor:

At 75 watts these are ok for small, relatively quiet acts. We have a four-person ptimarily acoustic group, they work well for that.

Comments about Kustom PA KPX110M 10" Passive Monitor:

I have used these for the last year as monitor speakers for our mobile church. Just bought another as an open box item. They sound great on the Behringer NU1000.

Comments about KPX110M 10" Passive Monitor:

A bit much in the midrange, and almost no low end. Which is just fine for a monitor, but don't dream of using these for mains.

Comments about KPX110M 10" Passive Monitor:

I needed something small for a floor wedge to use on stage at church as well as an ambient monitor for home recording. The Kustom 10" monitor works perfectly and has a little more top end than I expected. It's light weight and easy to carry. Durable and sleek look I expect from Kustom products.

Not much low end, too much midrange. Which is just fine when you use these for their intended purpose.
