This was the first personal system that I ever purchased when I started doing small on-the-road solo gigs. When I received the Kustom Profile One, I was disappointed with its size. The speaker stands were squatty. And what's with those wimpy speaker cables? However, when I plugged everything in and got it going, I was amazed! Something about those line-array speakers shoot the sound with clear quality. I've assembled systems using better brands pumping three times the power that still don't sound as good as this package. The powered mixer is constructed to screw onto a mic stand, so you can have it right next to you for easy sound adjustments during performance. Even the effects aren't half bad, and you can flip them off and on with a foot switch. One of the drawbacks though is there's not really an option to connect monitors. If you wanted to use the speakers for something other than the Kustom Profile, well they only have one "in" connection and no "out." I'd advise buying larger stands for it than what's recommended, and you'll want more reliable speaker cables than those provided.Still, for small venues, this is what you want. I plug in two vocals, a keyboard, and a guitar, and it accommodates nicely. I still use this system for practices when my drummer needs to hear vocals and instruments over his playing and we don't want to mess with a lot of hookups. I understand that Kustom has released a Profile Two with even more features, and I fully intend on buying it -- especially since the new version allows you to connect monitors and even a sub. The Kustom Profile One is quite a deal. I'd recommend this system over the Fender and Peavey models of similar portability.

I've used this for performance and practice and found it disappointing. The sound quality isn't that good.. It seems like it would be a great package but if you are looking for a good sounding system for the money, save some money and buy KPM4080 with the two KSC10's. It costs about half the price and even though it only has 4 channels instead of 5, and is only 80W instead of 100W, it is far and away better than the Profile One. Especially the speakers, they were shallow and tinny sounding no matter how much you tried to adjust the eq. You just can't make this thing sound good. I was going to buy one till I tried it, instead I bought the KPM4080 package with the two KSC10s, then added a pair of KSC10M floor monitors.

This is a great system. I tour with guitar/piano/voice gigs and needed light PA that sounds clear and carries to 100 people. I have been very satisfied with sound, portability and reverb effects (on voice). Audience always feeds back "your sound is so clear." CONS: The cons are not dealbreakers, but savvy minds might want to know that...1) Roller bag is okay, but does not fit the stands and when filled it is too heavy to lift in my car.2) EQ system does not have "mid" EQ per channel nor an overall EQ but truthfully, it sounds great despite this. Looks like in their new upgrade they include much better features including general overall graphic EQ, 3 bags - for stands and power amp and speakers. AND monitor inputs as well as feed to master mixing board. If you have the cash, I'd go straight for the upgrade. If you want a great deal, get this one.
Bought this system without testing and was deeply disappointed. Wanted to use for acoustic sets but the sound was shrill and hurt my ears. I found all aspects about this to be poor and it went back. Bought Yamaha system - sounds great!
The Kustom Profile One is a dark gray little miracle. You have five channels, but you actually get six. The speakers on first examination make you wonder until you plug them into the mixer. I almost began to talk to them,as those to little ladies can sing. A stereo mixer for this price was icing on the cake. I was gifted with the entire system and the stands were an added bonus. You get adjustable height with the speaker stands, and this entire setup is very attractive, and worth its weight in gold. I plugged up my JVC twin tape deck, and the playback of music is awesome, not to mention the recordings leave you guessing as to whether or not they were studio. An excellent product at such areasonable price.
This PA has some nice features, is very user-friendly, has great portability, and sounds fantastic. I'd be happy to give this slick little PA a great review - except that I had to return TWO of these. First one cut in and out and subsequently went out altogether. Second one had a factory flaw wherein it had the same echo effect on three of the settings, so it didn't have chorus/reverb. Sorry Kustom, but the quality is just not there, and it's a real shame considering this unit's other assets.
it worked good for awhile, but now won't even turn on. while it worked, it was barely loud enough if you're in a band with a loud drummer.
Especially when you factor in the price, this is a great little PA system. When the speakers are used on stands, they look really sleek and unobtrusive. The unit reproduces vocals and acoustic instruments beautifully. The quality of the effects is really better than an inexpensive PA should have. Considering its diminutive size, the unit can play suprisingly loud. I give this unit the nod for any small acoustic act. However, be warned that this unit employs dual 6.5" drivers in each cabinet. Hence, the unit can only faithfully reproduce so many frequencies. If there is any criticism of the system, it's the lack of bottom end performance and the lack of pan controls. Obviously, This is not the unit for you if you want thumping, gut-wrenching bass. The unit was not designed as such. I had hoped I could use it as a home karaoke set up for rehearsals. Voices sounded great and I did not have any feedback problems, but I just wanted and needed more low end performance. When I crank it, I want to feel the bass. All in all, an excellent value and a well-designed, easy to use portable PA system. If you are a guitarist doing a solo or duo act at the local bistro, this baby is for you.
Various reviews before me were positive but my experience was different. The weak link in the chain of sound is the speakers. Very tinny with no bass to speak of. Plugged in a CD and the sound made everyone run for the exits. Effects leave a lot to be desired and its not stereo as advertised. Listen to Yamaha entry packages. More bang for the buck! Mine went back to the store.
I can't believe they're still selling this thing. I paid nearly $400 for this thing years ago and I ended up selling it after a couple of months. This is something I'd planned to use in rehearsal for a hard rock band, seeing that it was 100 watts. You'd think it would be loud, but I couldn't even hear myself sing when accompanied by ONE guitar. The speakers are awful. PLEASE do not buy this, unless you're just going to use it for speaking at a small venue.
This system is a great for practicing or playing with lower powered instruments, but when you uprade to half-stacks this PA gets drowned out... I would recommend it for beginners, but if you are going to purchase it to play live with two guitars with half-stacks or a bass cabinet, get more power.
I give this PA an over all rating of 10. Let's face it, you get what you pay for. This PA does everything that one could do with in this price range. I've had it to Tennessse, Las Vegas, Detroit, etc. I wasn't in hugh concert halls, just banquet stye rooms. If you have a problem with yours then send it back, you got a lemon. For all of you that are crying about the sounds. IT COULD BE YOU. Out of here.
