This is a great system. I tour with guitar/piano/voice gigs and needed light PA that sounds clear and carries to 100 people. I have been very satisfied with sound, portability and reverb effects (on voice). Audience always feeds back "your sound is so clear." CONS: The cons are not dealbreakers, but savvy minds might want to know that...1) Roller bag is okay, but does not fit the stands and when filled it is too heavy to lift in my car.2) EQ system does not have "mid" EQ per channel nor an overall EQ but truthfully, it sounds great despite this. Looks like in their new upgrade they include much better features including general overall graphic EQ, 3 bags - for stands and power amp and speakers. AND monitor inputs as well as feed to master mixing board. If you have the cash, I'd go straight for the upgrade. If you want a great deal, get this one.

I've used this for performance and practice and found it disappointing. The sound quality isn't that good.. It seems like it would be a great package but if you are looking for a good sounding system for the money, save some money and buy KPM4080 with the two KSC10's. It costs about half the price and even though it only has 4 channels instead of 5, and is only 80W instead of 100W, it is far and away better than the Profile One. Especially the speakers, they were shallow and tinny sounding no matter how much you tried to adjust the eq. You just can't make this thing sound good. I was going to buy one till I tried it, instead I bought the KPM4080 package with the two KSC10s, then added a pair of KSC10M floor monitors.

Disappointing

Bought this system without testing and was deeply disappointed. Wanted to use for acoustic sets but the sound was shrill and hurt my ears. I found all aspects about this to be poor and it went back. Bought Yamaha system - sounds great!

It's a performer, It's attractive, & priced right

The Kustom Profile One is a dark gray little miracle. You have five channels, but you actually get six. The speakers on first examination make you wonder until you plug them into the mixer. I almost began to talk to them,as those to little ladies can sing. A stereo mixer for this price was icing on the cake. I was gifted with the entire system and the stands were an added bonus. You get adjustable height with the speaker stands, and this entire setup is very attractive, and worth its weight in gold. I plugged up my JVC twin tape deck, and the playback of music is awesome, not to mention the recordings leave you guessing as to whether or not they were studio. An excellent product at such areasonable price.

Both of mine were lemons

By Oldboat

from Oregon

This PA has some nice features, is very user-friendly, has great portability, and sounds fantastic. I'd be happy to give this slick little PA a great review - except that I had to return TWO of these. First one cut in and out and subsequently went out altogether. Second one had a factory flaw wherein it had the same echo effect on three of the settings, so it didn't have chorus/reverb. Sorry Kustom, but the quality is just not there, and it's a real shame considering this unit's other assets.

it worked good for awhile, but now won't even turn on. while it worked, it was barely loud enough if you're in a band with a loud drummer.

Great as an acoustic PA (small venue)

By SAB-8q0LM

See all my reviews

Especially when you factor in the price, this is a great little PA system. When the speakers are used on stands, they look really sleek and unobtrusive. The unit reproduces vocals and acoustic instruments beautifully. The quality of the effects is really better than an inexpensive PA should have. Considering its diminutive size, the unit can play suprisingly loud. I give this unit the nod for any small acoustic act. However, be warned that this unit employs dual 6.5" drivers in each cabinet. Hence, the unit can only faithfully reproduce so many frequencies. If there is any criticism of the system, it's the lack of bottom end performance and the lack of pan controls. Obviously, This is not the unit for you if you want thumping, gut-wrenching bass. The unit was not designed as such. I had hoped I could use it as a home karaoke set up for rehearsals. Voices sounded great and I did not have any feedback problems, but I just wanted and needed more low end performance. When I crank it, I want to feel the bass. All in all, an excellent value and a well-designed, easy to use portable PA system. If you are a guitarist doing a solo or duo act at the local bistro, this baby is for you.

LOW PRICE/LOW VALUE

By Teleman-j_T2.

Various reviews before me were positive but my experience was different. The weak link in the chain of sound is the speakers. Very tinny with no bass to speak of. Plugged in a CD and the sound made everyone run for the exits. Effects leave a lot to be desired and its not stereo as advertised. Listen to Yamaha entry packages. More bang for the buck! Mine went back to the store.

I don't think so

By Zoe Vette

from Wilmington, NC

I can't believe they're still selling this thing. I paid nearly $400 for this thing years ago and I ended up selling it after a couple of months. This is something I'd planned to use in rehearsal for a hard rock band, seeing that it was 100 watts. You'd think it would be loud, but I couldn't even hear myself sing when accompanied by ONE guitar. The speakers are awful. PLEASE do not buy this, unless you're just going to use it for speaking at a small venue.

Good beginner PA

By onesideddice

This system is a great for practicing or playing with lower powered instruments, but when you uprade to half-stacks this PA gets drowned out... I would recommend it for beginners, but if you are going to purchase it to play live with two guitars with half-stacks or a bass cabinet, get more power.

Ask me a question

I give this PA an over all rating of 10. Let's face it, you get what you pay for. This PA does everything that one could do with in this price range. I've had it to Tennessse, Las Vegas, Detroit, etc. I wasn't in hugh concert halls, just banquet stye rooms. If you have a problem with yours then send it back, you got a lemon. For all of you that are crying about the sounds. IT COULD BE YOU. Out of here.

3 years and still kicking

By Lee Coulter

from San Diego, CA

See all my reviews

I've had the profile one PA for over 3 years and couldn't have asked for more. I initially got them for my solo shows (vocal/guitar) and that's what I still use them for but they've come in handy as monitors for band shows too. I've dropped them, left them in my trunk through all sorts of weather and played them louder than they should go. Yes they might cut out when played in the hot summer sun for too long, they don't have much of a low end (at all, if your serious about live sound), and the speaker cabinet will crack after about the 6th drop, but they little thing just keeps working for me and still sounds great in cafes, restaurants, wine bars, house parties, weddings and small stages. This system has been my bread winner since I bought them so I say it was definitely money well spent.

For use with a Modeler.

By Casey-ixcQ3

from Connecticut

I've never actually tried to use this thing for it's intended purpose, I use it instead as an ultra clean amplifier for my Vox Tonelab, were I to play with a band, I'd mic it into a bigger PA. My Father used to play restaurants with it, acoustic/singing, and for that size venue it works fine.I'll rate it for what I use it for.It works great, the extra EQ and effects allow me to make an even more defined tone, and if I want an untouched tone, I simply set it too neutral.I'm bored so I'll end there...

Laytonco

By Laytonco

from Parker, CO

I use this system in a limited environment, my studio. Therefore, it's plenty loud and actually sounds very good. I also use it as my amp for my Takamine Acoutics and that sounds very good too. I can imagine the speakers would not be the ebst for a large room because they simply are not big enough at 6 inches. Nor is the 100W power system. But, for studio use, it's very good and compact.

Pretty good.

This PA was our bands first. We were originally running our mics through guitar amps, but we decided to finally get a PA. I gave the features a ten mostly because of the effects (although I don't use them much). It's a solid PA for practice only. 100 watts just doesn't cut it for medium sized gigs. Save up another couple hundred and get yourself a pro model from the same company, or Yamaha.

Low Quality

By Teleman-j_T2.

Advise to musicians looking for a good entry level system - avoid this product. The most serious problem, the speakers. They do not have serious dynamic range or sound quality. They are actually painful to the ears. I plugged in a Yamaha 12" Club monitor and the sound was much improved but still average. The effects are useless and the system is not stereo as advertised. Kustom needs to re-think or delete this product. Yamaha rules in this area for overall quality and a reasonable price.

Great little system for an acoustic set, and when going electric, spin the speakers around. It makes a killer monitor system.

Great Value

By Cliff-q-uqC

from Los Angeles, CA

I was afraid it wasn't going to be loud enough for the mid-sized, long room we were to play in, but when we used it for the first time, it delivered more than enough output for vocals & saxophone to the end of the room. Was very clear, with no noise. We hooked up a computer to the RCA outs for DJ'd music between sets and that sounded great. Overall, for the value, a very good unit.

Profile One

By Azambog

from Georgia

My church purchased this system for the children's ministry and it works just the way it was designed to. It is not a concert sound reinforcement system, so you cannot expect it to perform like one. It is best suited for a small act in front of no more than 50-100 people. If you need something for more than that you'll need to purchase something bigger.
