For the Musicians Friend Price these are probably the best LED cans you will find. Others are selling this can for much more. The LEDs are pretty bright and in the 4 units we received all LEDs lite up. The brightness of these lights is about like a Par 38 with a 150 flood Geled. If you use one color (red, green or blue) you are only using 1/3 of the bulbs and the brightness drops to about a 125 watt flood with a dark Gel.The Beam is probably around 25* or less - this unit is no flood. At 10 foot it is pretty much a spot light with a slight soft edge. The beam pattern at 10' is about a 4' soft edge circle. These would not work for wash lighting.A few down sides. First, (if you can call it a minus) there is a little fan inside the can that is a tad noisy. If you need these lights in a small quite setting this may not work for you. I was getting a db of 58-60 dbC from the fan noise at 1' in a room that was 53 dbC with no other sounds. Also, When mixing colors they did not blend perfectly across the beam pattern and there was some color wash on the edges. Small issues for a such a great LED Par Light.

I bought these lights for a theater, but when fading them in or out with a DMX controller, they do it in steps pretty severely, so smooth fades are impossible (steps at approximately 5% increments). With the first step up from 0%, they pop on to a relatively high intensity. They also have a very strange method of controlling the RGB channels individually by DMX (Ch 1, 4, 5, 6 UP for all channels off, then bring DOWN ch 4, 5, or 6 to bring up each color - makes programming very difficult!). Probably awesome and a good value for DJs, or anyone looking for fun and feature-rich party lights in stand-alone mode, but CANNOT be used for theatrical applications. The blend of the 3 colors isn't so great out of the box (red and green give a green center and a red ring around the outside), but they can be blended very nicely without losing too much of the edge with an R100 frost (the red and green can make nice ambers with the frost! Unfortunately, the stepping issue makes the blending very specific colors difficult).

- Be sure and read the instructions - programming is straight forward, but the instructions will save you time
I really wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered these appliances - but I went on the quantity of positive reviews- and was pleasently surprised - They really put out the lumens, and draw a miserly 22 watts. I have now replaced all of my halogen par cans.

I DJ school dances where I teach. I originally purchased 2 of these. Only one worked out of the box. Musician's friend sent a replacement. I used one of these for a small event I was working and it worked fine. The very next event, one of the cans didn't work at all. You are taking your chances with this product. I have only a 1 for 3 success rate.

VEI par 64 led intelligent lighting

    By Brian English

    from Vancouver Canada

Comments about Lighting LED PAR 64 Light:

I like the fact that these lights can be programmed individually as stand alones or daisy-chained and run in a DMX format and they have a digital programming system as opposed to dip switches which in my opinion maketss them easier to set up. All round a very nice inexpensive product.
Plenty of led's,good blending of colors and digital programming. No dip switches for DMX programming. Lots of stand alone scenes and speed control for strobes or color changes.
Not having anything to relate them to I can't really attest to the quality aspect. They came well packaged and all functions worked on all lights when tested.
They are definitely the best bang for one's buck that I could find anywhere.

This light works great and is a good value for the money. It does not have memory so when you shut it off/ unplug it, the fixture goes back to dmx channel one. We hang our lights from trusses permanently installed on the ceiling. When we shut the power off to them they have to be reprogrammed.

Comments about Lighting LED PAR 64 Light:

I have been researching these lights as well as every other company with led parcans for months. I have had guys demo almost every kind of can from st. louis to Chicago, and these are just as good as any other company. There is a fan you can hear if your right by it, but it's no louder than a fan in a power amp or computer. I got the black short cans and they wash my stage great. I have them 15ft above and 5 ft out, as well as 20ft out. And 4 of these guys wash a 22ft by 18ft stage easly. I dont know what is wrong. I also ordered 9 of these cans and not a thing wrong withany of them. For the price and quality, they are sweeeeet!!

Comments about Lighting LED PAR 64 Light:

Mounts are great, sturdy and do not let the light move once tightened. I would buy these again without a thought. Again the application is gig lighting.... Hope this helps!
Not sure what other features you could need in a light. Easy to use - fan a bit noisy but they stay cool. Noise not a factor at gigs. DMX worked just the way it should. I did not try to manually program them so that part was not tested.
You cannot beat these for the price. They seem pretty sturdy and are great for gigging. Very bright and a capable of a lot of colors. These light have literally a zero cool down time. This is a big deal if you ever used the older lamp style!!. All working well so far!

The only thing unknown is how well they will hold up over time but I do not see any reason to be concerned about that so far
Hands down one of the most cost effective lights I have ever purchased (I own four). After +30 years in the music biz, these are one fo the best values I have ran across.

Comments about Lighting LED PAR 64 Light:

Overall, I'm please with my purchase...that is, once again if I can get them to work with my controller. I have yet to see how roadworthy they are. Based on reviews I had read, they'll be just fine. Would like to know the Arriba bag size for these fixtures, however.
I bought two of the short black par64 LED's and they work great all by themselves, however I wanted to control them with an Obey3. Well, the description says they are a 3 channel or up to 7 channel fixture. No matter what I tried I could never get the Obey 3 to "talk" to the par64. No functions on the Obey3 had any effect at all on the fixture. Perhaps I was naive into thinking 3 channels on the fixture...3 channels on the controller...what's not to like? Turns out these fixtures have been changed to a 6 channel fixture and consequently the Obey3 will not work. I ordered an Obey10 as recommended by Chauvet tech support. We'll see if that solves the problem. Hope so...
They look and feel pretty sturdy. The fan is a little louder than I anticipated, but I'm sure I won't notice it on the gig.
If I can get these things to work with my new Obey10, then great! If not, then I'm seriously thinking about turning them back in and getting some slim par 64's. According to the Chauvet tech, the slim pars are a perfect match for either the Obey3 or Obey10.

Comments about LED PAR 64 Light:

Light does not produce white light. Tried all types of color mix.

See image of LED can shining on wall next to par 64 can with white light. The LED was blue on the white light setting.

Colors do not blend well. Straight Red or Green or Blue work well.

these are my first LED lights and the quality is very good the only complaint i have is the user manual is pretty vague i really wish they would explain how to use the features that these light have theres 110 or 12 little switches on that change so much and the manual doesn't really tell you what to do in plain english esspecially for a novice like me , they work very well but i would love to get everything out of them but you just have to experiment to figure all that it does but they are very cool i really need someone to explain how to get the most out of them

I believe I truly handled this unit with care and it was working well and I enjoyed its quality and lighting effect but it suddenly burned out right BEFORE a small gig (when I really needed this one light)(I'm NOT full-time singer and thought this LED had not accumulated many hours). I do wish the CORD was a few inches longer and they'd find a way to save money elsewhere. I have another unit and have started using and hopefully will last longer.
