A license-free digital wireless microphone system that goes way beyond what analog can do.

The Line 6 XD-V70 Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone System can do what analog digital wireless systems can't. It can deliver top-notch wireless performance, simplicity, and sound on every stage around the world”license free.

Line 6 digital wireless technology won numerous awards when it debuted in 2008. It proved that 50-year-old analog wireless technology wasn't the only option. Now in its 4th generation, Line 6 digital wireless technology is leaner, meaner and raising the bar for all digital wireless systems.

Unmatched wireless performance
XD-V70 keeps you on the air longer with less to worry about. Exclusive digital technologies ensure against all types of audio interference. XD-V70 offers frequency diversity, which incorporates a hybrid frequency-hopping spread-spectrum practice. This results in thoroughly reliable operation”even in hostile RF environments.

Broadcasting in the 2.4GHz band successfully avoids interference caused by TV stations, public safety broadcasts, cell phone towers, and other high-powered sources. Plus, it enables XD-V70 to broadcast around the world without a license.

Unmatched simplicity
Simply power up, pick a channel, and go. Analog wireless systems are notorious for making their users jump through hoops to get set up. XD-V70 offers the opposite: zero required adjustments, and nothing standing in the way of you and your performance.

No more show-stopping dead batteries. Get eight hours of constant usage from two AA alkaline batteries. Battery life data is monitored via clear, easy-to-read meters on the transmitter and receiver.

Unmatched sound
XD-V70 delivers clear, pure, and responsive vocal reproduction. And it does so throughout its entire 100-meter/300-foot range. (Unlike with an analog wireless system, XD-V70's audio doesn't degrade with distance.)

Recognized as a world leader in digital modeling technology, Line 6 has outfitted XD-V70 with a variety of accurate microphone models. These models enable XD-V70 to take on the sonic characteristics of six popular microphones. Via a button on the microphone shaft, you can chose from presets based on a Shure SM58, Shure Beta 58, Sennheiser e 835, Audio-Technica AE4100, Audix OM5, and Electro-Voice N/D767.

An original Line 6 microphone model, L6-DC7, features the best sonic qualities of the other six models. It has the sparkle associated with condenser mics, the ruggedness and high dynamic range of dynamic mics, and plenty of responsiveness to cut through the mix.

This modeling advantage makes XD-V70 the perfect match for any vocalist or vocal application.

Even Better Than Expected !!!

By Douglas Hart

from Near Stillwater, Ok

Comments about Line 6 XD-V70 Wireless Microphone:

The Line 6 XD-V70 is by far the best wireless mic I have used to date. I compared it side by side with one of our Shure SM58 wireless mics. The difference is night and day. The Line 6 is in another league. It is crystal clear with no EQ. There is almost zero handling noise. The mic is absolutely silent... no static or hiss at all (even listening through headphones). It also makes no noise whatsoever when turned on and off.
We will be purchasing at least 5 more of these.
I love the ability to display a name on the LCD of the mic. Not quite as useful as colored electrical tape, but certainly looks better and has a "cool" factor.
Battery Life listed in hours/minutes instead of a segmented bar like other mics. It actually tells you how much battery life is left. I can also read the battery status of the transmitter on the receiver at mix position.
As an audio engineer, I love the fact that I can look at the receiver and tell if the mic is on and if it's muted or not.
Antenna pass through: You can link multiple units together and use only one set of antennas for the whole rack... and you can place them remotely. Very nice to not have a bunch of antennas cluttering the back of the rack.
Modeling: I don't have all of the mics to A/B test against for accuracy, but I really don't care about that anyway. Scrolling through the different mic models, you can definitely tell a difference. Just pick the one that sounds best for that particular vocalist. To my ears, the Line6 models sounded the best, followed by the 767...
I used the Line 6 XD-V70 mic for the first time at church this evening. Since I've only had it for one day, I can't speak of durability, but I will say that this appears to be a very tough, well build mic. The first thing I noticed upon opening the box is the receiver. It's aluminum chassis feels very solid and looks nice. The piece to connect the units together is made of rugged plastic and feels very solid, although quite difficult to install.
The handheld transmitter also feels very durable. The exterior is metal and has a nice weight and balance. Fits in your hand very nicely. The LCD screen is recessed just the right amout for protection. It's bright and wasy to read. The buttons feel solid and are recessed to prevent accidental pushing, although they are recessed "almost" too much. Fat fingers will have trouble pushing them.
The only complaint about the handheld is that the battery compartment seems a bit cheap. It's plastic and feels like it would break easily if not handled carefully.
Personally, I think most wireless mics are too expensive for what you get. This is the first wireless that I've used that I felt was worth the price.

Good but

Comments about Line 6 XD-V70 Wireless Microphone:

I would of gave this a 9 if I wasn't having problems with 2.
I have 3 of these. 1 sounds very good, but the other 2 must have something wrong with them because they have a strange high fuz sound when being sang into. It's not super noticble but to one with a good ear very annoying. Going to mail the 2 weird ones in hope that there is something wrong. I really like this mic. Just annoying having only 1 that sounds good. And yes I make sure that all the settings were the same when I was trouble shooting them and had the same vocalist with all EQs flat. Def something messed up with two...for $500 each that's a bummer and it's all set up in our rack and it is very difficult to get out.
This product is pretty heavy duty. Also have never had any wireless interference which is awesome.

Great item but affects WIFI Wireless G

By RockMan1

from Santa Rosa, CA

Comments about Line 6 XD-V70 Wireless Microphone:

This is a really powerful wireless mic system. In fact i'm going to get one for our church. My experience is this: One of my clients has 11 of these setup for a conference center and when this thing is powered on it blew away the WIFI Wireless G Access point for the customer as well as any in the area at other businesses. Spoke with an engineer with the manufactuer and was told this item is "Military Grade", uses multiple (4)channels at once that change every 300ms and is designed to ensure that it doesn't lose it's signal. The solution I was told is if WIFI is needed use wireless N which runs at 5 mhz range and not the 2.6mhz that this system and wireless G uses. They should state that in the description. Besides that the mic is great and does everything they say it does and more.

Great Mic...Worth The Money

By ace2003

from Jasper, Ga

Comments about Line 6 XD-V70 Wireless Microphone:

I won this mic at the WFX Convention in Atlanta. At first I was sceptical about the quality of the mic (as far as sound) because of the brand. The reason I entered the drawing is I liked the way it fit in my hand. Now on to the important part...the preformance. I have a small home recording studio so I thought Why Not. This mic did a steallar job in the studio! Much to my surprise! I put it up against an Audio Technica MB4k and this mic blew it out of the water. Even with a dbx Provocal unit attached to the AT mic.I took this mic to my church where it blew the VOCOPRO 5200 mics away. This thing works great live and in a studio environment. The built in mic modelers really help to dial in the mic for your voice, plus you can custom label the mic name on the lcd of the handheld unit and it will display that name on the reciever when the handheld is powered up...no more ugly colored tape. YAY!! All the hardware is included for rackmounting this mic and for repoisitioning the antennas on the rack ears.Buy it, you wont be sorry, in fact I want to buy another one.

Great, great, great!!!

By Ron Young

from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Line 6 XD-V70 Wireless Microphone:

GREAT! GREAT! GREAT! Some background: I?m a lead singer that has been on several major labels and I was also a sound man for many years at a top club in a major city. I have owned and used top of the line wireless handheld units such as Shure, Sennheiser, Nady, and Samson over the years, and have used it them in venues from clubs to arenas. Wireless units are just lousy radio stations that replace the mic cable. The technology has not changed for years other than slight tweaks and upgrades to give you more channels of lousy RF to get around the interference. Finally a company is taking newer technologies and applying them to musical equipment. Now I know the major hurdle in buying a Line 6 wireless is just because the other companies have been making them for years. Someone told me about this unit and my first response was LINE 6???!!! Yes, Line 6!...it actually makes perfect sense. This company has made a great name for themselves getting warm analog tone from digital technology. They have been making innovative, reliable, and versatile gear for long enough for the company to have a SOLID reputation?just not in wireless technology. But the same clever engineers that helped pioneer digital amp modeling obviously went to pretty smart engineers to come up with this one. First off the signal is clean and crisp. They have basically taken wireless out of the bands that have tremendous competition for airspace and put it in the band that?s more efficient and most of all LEGAL? and usableall over the world. (I tour and that?s a problem as many other wireless units work in frequencies that you need a license for). It operates as WiFi and cordless phones work, but there is no possibility of cross talk due to different encoding. I am Pissed that my Sennheiser I bought just a couple of years ago is noe illegal to use hear because the Govt sold off the 700 Mhz bandwidth. The Line 6 mic element sounds great. I have previously used condensers and dynamics in my mics for various reasons, and their capsule sounds as good, and in my opinion better than any Shure?but if you are still a slave to those mics ( many Front of house and monitor rigs are dialed in for those mics), you can replace the element with any Shure wireless capsule ( Audix is available with an adapter from Ratt Sound as well, and you can also use Heil capsules). They also have their great modeling to emulate the EQ colorations of some very popular mics?I chose to just use their element without modeling as I thought it sounded best with my voice, I even AB?d it against a Shure 58 and a Beta 58 capsule I had from my other handheld wireless units I still have, and still preferred theirs. DON?T LET THE OTHER COMPANIES BRANDING KEEP YOU AWAY FROM THIS WIRELESS!!! They have hit it out of the park with this unit. My sound guy loves the way it sounds, and so do I in my in ear monitors?speaking of which?.when is Line 6 going to apply this technology to wireless in ears??? Hint Hint. Please make one?then I can lose the other archaic piece of wireless gear that I own!

Excellent wireless system

By Pastor JC

from Sperryville, VA

Comments about Line 6 XD-V70 Wireless Microphone:

We had to upgrade from a 700 MHz system that is no longer legal in the US. After searching and researching for days, I settled on this unit. I could not be happier.I am an Acoustic Systems Engineer designing digital sonobuoys for the Navy. I can say that this microphone system is inspiring and state-of-the-art.The best feature, however, is the pristine sound. It is rock steady over the transmission range that I used it (around 100 feet out of the total 300 specified). The sound quality is superb. The mic modeling is outstanding. The system is built like a tank, and contains professional features that you would find only on very expensive equipment--there is not skimping in the manufacturing of this product. The microphone is exceptionally well weight balanced, and is easy to hold. The included microphone clip and nice road case only add to the value.Battery access on the mic is somewhat cumbersome, and the on/off switch operating takes some getting used to (a visiting speaker would need some help figuring out how to mute/unmute). These are only minor issues, but that is all that I have found.Overall, this is a superb system, well worth the price.

Comments about Line 6 XD-V70 Wireless Microphone:

this a great product...tried it out at CG and bought it on the spot- Recently did an episode of MADE for MTV (I was the MADE Coach) and I was offered a deat with Audio Technica, but I wasen't sold on the product...this is is cool...it has pro-co-ax connectors for televison, and even my redicious vox could not distort the capsul....go for it, I wish the battery cover was steel but it other than that the thing is a TANK and all of the rack harware is INCLUDED!....Not to mention the mic case it comes with RULES!...it is like a large version of the oakley (horse pill sunglasses case) and it holds extra batteries! I am super happy with this mic.
