Comments about M-Audio Sputnik Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone:

I couldn't resist the new price, but wondered if this new version was going to be as good as the original. In and A/B test, the re-issue sounded as good or better than the original. Comes with flight case, shock mount, 7-pin cable and power supply.

Swap out the transformer and you've got a mic worth several times more than it's asking price.

This is a great mic

Comments about M-Audio Sputnik Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone:

After submitting my tracks for professional mixing/mastering, the guy asked me what kind of mic I had used. I told him Rode NTK. He said he personally didn't like the sound of those mics and found it more sibilant and tougher to mix. He recommended a Sputnik. I'd never heard of them and always thought my Rode was a great mic. I bought one and recorded a song for him to work on. He immediately emailed me and asked what I had used on vocals as they sounded so much better than my previous tracks. I haven't used my NTK for 4 years.

Very cool mic, got it at a SDOD and is a great value. Just sorry I didn't get two at the price. Sounds awsome on 12 string. Quality construction throughout.

Comments about M-Audio Sputnik Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone:

This is an awesome microphone. You could spend 5 times the price and not do as well. Primarily a vocal mic. I already owned 2, just bought 2 more. Online reviews coompare this mic to Neumannn U-47, U-67, and AKG C-12.
