I'm a active musician, play acoustic guitar and sing. Play with another guy who plays acoustic also and electric and does some singing also. The negative reviews on this board are mostly application issues only. A few were having channel problems, that should be a warranty thing for sure, unless it's past the year, and if so, it's probably because of a man made error in sending to big of a signal to a channel. A channel will only last so long before it dies if it's getting stressed every show! For my application, acoustic guitar, electric guitar and two vocals, it's the best sounding analog board I've heard! We use EV SXA +100 powered speakers and a EV SBA2 powered sub and the sound is great. You get to directly plug your sub right into the board, it crosses it over for you, WHAT! That's awesome! Once you figure out that the sub groups are what control the channel feeds to the mains, which wasn't hard, it's such an easy board to figure out, not alot of buttons to screw with. For what we use it for, there are no complaints form me. For a small group that gigs a lot and wants a great sounding, great build and easy to run board, this is it, trust me!

I have had this mixer for a little over a year. It has been at the most once a week and has been treated very well. It has never been dropped and there are no scratches on it. However, two of the channels have now quit working. We only use 6 channels so it is not worth being repaired at this time. I find it would be cheaper to have it repaired locally than to pay all the shipping costs to send it somewhere. I thought Mackie was quality products but at least on this mixer I am very disappointed.

Comments about Mackie CFX12 mkII Mixer:
I was using mackie's VLZ III board and bought this when it was on sale. The VLZ III was dull sounding compared to the CFX, No kidding! No its not a $80.000 pro mixer.
The CFX does sound excellent,The clarity is just excellent with the QSC RMX power amp and Electro Voice SX 300 and SX 250's I use it with. The FX are not bad But I like the Rack mount gear better.
SPX90II etc. Love having the sub groups, that's a added plus imo. Mackie's got their stuff together! this is a very good mixer and at this price point, Amazing quality for cheaps. Lets see how she holds up over a few years. I'm very satisfied with this mixer.
Comments about Mackie CFX12 mkII Mixer:
Look forward to using this for many, many years
Great features, clean effects, all the inputs you'd ever need.
Mackie quality throughout
Got this for a bargain price
Comments about Mackie CFX12 mkII Mixer:
All I can say it is a best mixer on the market you can buy.
Comments about Mackie CFX12 mkII Mixer:
It really gets no better. I use it with a muted trumpet and the reverb on this thing really brings it to life - so much better than anything else I've used (Mackie or otherwise). It also really makes vocals pop nicely. Sonically, it gets no better. It's a little pricey but it's price is very nearly justified by how good it sounds.

Comments about Mackie CFX12 mkII Mixer:
I have a 4 member vocal band and unfortunately this is the closest that mackie gets to the features we need while lacking in some areas. Using the sub groups to control additional speakers affect the mains volume. no direct channel assignability. We use the subs for in ear mixes and having no independent assignability to the mains from each channel makes us sacrifice a set of sub groups (2 faders). Cant ask for everything.
Comments about Mackie CFX12 mkII Mixer:
Me and my band bought this to expand what we were doing and it has proved to be the best investment we have ever made. The sound is great and we dont even use a power amp for it. We are actually using a peavey head from an old system and it still works great. I would recomend this to anyone who is looking to expand or even get started for the price.
Comments about Mackie CFX12 mkII Mixer:
I've used this mixer for over 5 years, never a problem, matched with a BBE I have a sound like no others in the area. I do large shows and karaoke, works great for Karaoke. I would recomen this product to anyone.
Comments about Mackie CFX12 mkII Mixer:
I do karaoke shows in small to mid size venues and have been using this mixer for over 12 years. If you want a tank with tons of dynamic headroom, flexability and nice effects you couldn't buy a better product! In my business mixing live on the fly is the rule, not the exception. This is where having a tough product that's easy to work with pays off everytime you use it. Buy a Mackie and you won't be sorry.
Comments about Mackie CFX12 mkII Mixer:
I had this unit for over five years , maybe longer. I have used this unit with my home recordings, and the sound is very clean. And now I take it with me on the road for my live performances. The EQ and the effects come in handy as well.
