All-new professional transducers
MRmk2 Series studio monitors feature all-new professional transducers specifically designed to meet the demands of the modern project studio. The neodymium magnet-driven silk dome tweeter is both smooth and accurate, featuring ferro-fluid cooling to help protect against power compression during wide dynamic playback. The hyperbolic curved cone woofer, inverted dust cap, and long voice coil windings work in tandem to deliver smooth, consistent output with controlled low frequency performance. When paired with Mackie’s precision-tuned amplifiers, MRmk2 monitors provide spot-on input-to-output tuning that you can take to the bank.
Precision power amplifiers
The dual precision Class A/B amplifiers have been re-voiced to specifically match their new driver components, ensuring that your sound is minimally impacted by distortion, artifacts or changes in frequency response often imparted by working at a variety of volume levels. MRmk2 Series monitors are a 2-way design that offers up to 150 watts of total system power. Delivering more power than anything in their class, MRmk2 studio monitors provide exceedingly smooth output, from ultra-low bass frequencies to precise midrange and sparkling highs.
Custom waveguide & baffle
An optimally-sized custom waveguide is designed to maximize sonic clarity and dispersion, while also serving to minimize diffractions. Everything even down to the cabinet design of MRmk2s are handled with the utmost attention to detail. These Monitors do everything they(Musicians Friend and Mackie)said they can do. I mix and record in a treated studio/ mixing room. Moving up from 5" M-Audio's to these?....a well made investment. If your serious about hearing solid, clear audio for recording, mixing or just plain enoying music.....these Mr8's are where its at. This Company will serve you right as well!

I've had these for a few months now, and I can safely say they are worth every penny. I've been a firm believer in "you get what you pay for," and this is no exception. Clarity is phenominal. In my own research I've heard the MR5mk2's color the sound with a bit of extra bass, so I went with the MR8mk2s. The larger cone replicates lower frequencies well. My mixes sound consistant through theses spearkers, my car speakers, dinky little headphones at work, etc. This wasn't the case with my last monitors, which was a crap shoot. If you want speakers with style, grab some KRKs. If you want a product where the name speaks for itself, and your mixes sound bigger than life, get these.
PS: Don't forget to mix at lower volumes kiddies. If you mix at high volume, it'll only sound that good at that decible level and above. Mix low, and when you're finished, then crank them up for all the world (and neighbors) to enjoy!
Between the inputs, and switches, you can reliably hook up these puppies and adjust them to your room.
Very sturdy.
There will always be a better product, but value for money, this is where the line is drawn.

Kudos for MF for being the first to have it in stock, I was waiting patiently.Just started using this new model, the sound is deep and open, with a wide sweet spot, much better than my old digital Roland's, simply fantastic, I'm also glad not to be another KRK lemming!. No complaints so far, but I haven't mixed on them yet, that explains the my score of 4, but I did run a few listening sessions and I'm very pleased with the sound. It's always nice to hear things you never knew existed in music you've listened to for years.
