Don't be fooled by the seemingly meagre 150w rating (I was at first, and initially went with another brand by wattage alone, until two out of three of theirs failed in less than a week, leading me back to Martin) this is as bright(er) a fixture as comparitive 250w efforts, and is truly well-built. I mean it's just a delight to own, even not plugged in. I expect these units will last years of heavy use. Even the mounting hardware is quality anodised, not just painted. The panels aren't just screen printed...The sound-to light is superior, having the best musically interprative display I've seen. Particularly nice is how the beams sort of rest, but sway on quiet, like it's still "alive". Very cool. The projection quality and optics are stunning. VERY fast mirrors. Work well in smoke of course. Seem to cut through just a little better too. Probably the optics, not just brightness. If you're looking at scanners, for just a little extra cash this unit is pro-quality and has features they don't mention in the sales specs (dunno why!) such as gobo ROTATE, and lamp DIM!!! The nice thing is that you can have four for the power rating of only about two apparently similar scanners, make as much light, generate less heat, and it comes with the standard 500 hour (yes FIVE-HUNDRED hour bulb - not just 50 hours like in others) and save nearly 40 lbs of truss weight! Oh, and that 500 hour bulb is only about 50% more expensive for ten times the life! I'm converted... Get Martin, they think about you, and it'll be the smartest intelligent thing you ever did!
