Overall:
Well, I am an amateur in recording, so I pretty much went in to buy mics and asked the sales guy what were good without breaking my wallet. He suggested these to me because I wanted to record vocals and guitar. So far they sound amazing. I am running them through a profire2626 interface into pro tools and or garage band. For guitar I use both mics which creates an amazing sound because the big mic has a really smooth warm low end sound while the pen captures a really crisp high end. I suggest using both for guitar recording or if you only have one input use the large condenser. The pen mic is strictly a high end sound and doesnt pick up low frequencies unless thats what you want. The high ends however are really crisp and sound smooth combined with the large condenser. The package comes with handling gloves, which I would use unless you want large smudge marks and dirty fingerprints on the mics, something I did as soon as i took them out of the package. Quality wise these things are hefty, I was almost expecting a plastic feel because of the shiny chrome look but you could knock someone out with one of these. Not so heavy to tip over a stand or anything though. Overall you cant beat the sound quality, how well they are built, and the whole package deal for 200 dollars.
