Mic is okay, cable sucks.

I've owned this mic for a couple years now and have used this mic in a couple different projects.
Good for high volume stuff, not so much for quiet stuff.
As far as I can tell it's best for mid range stuff like vocals, guitar cabs.
Works decent as an overhead.
If you have an isolated space and can crank the preamp, works okay on micing acoustic.
As expected from the frequency response, not spectacular for kicks, bass cabs, or floor toms.
The mic is pretty decent for the money.
The cable on the other hand did not hold up very long at all.

This mic was bought to replace the mic from a cheap karaoke machine, and Wow! I was surprised how great it sounds, it cleans up the sound nicely.

I was hoping to pay a little more get a little more with this mic. Looked great in the package but when I set it up for the first time during practice it sounded awfull. dirty overdriven sound from the start. Ive used entry level Nady mics in the past and still do that sound 10 times better than this. Im not prone to fits of anger but feeling ripped off I took it from the stand and threw it across the room. If you need a cheap mic, buy the basic cheap Nady instead of the SP4C. Maybe it was just this one mic but the SP4C was very dissapointing for me.

Our drummer uses this mic to talk to M.D. during live performances at our church kids services. Works very well, easy to use, has the on/off switch which is why I purchased it. Drummer has to make sure to turn it off when he's playing or the whole sound PA goes crazy. Otherwise, the mic works exactly like it's supposed to.

This microphone is great! Like the other comments state, the cable isn't top of the line. The main reason the cable gets a low score is because the XLR casing/housing isn't die-cast, it's plastic, I would suggest a new cable of your liking. The mic itself is great; durable, stable, die-cast and does exactly what it should. great sound quality. I would definitely recommend this.

I bought one of these mics and its ok for what I do. Which is play at nursing homes. If I were to play in front of a audience of people that would make comments about your equipment your using I'd invest in Shure mic's.
