New TRAKTOR Pro S4 Software
It's super simple to get straight in the mix, thanks to the included TRAKTOR PRO S4 software, adapted from the pioneering TRAKTOR PRO. Developed in perfect synergy with the S4's controller, new features have been added to the TRAKTOR PRO S4 software to fully take advantage of this all-in-one solution, while premium ready-made and instantly combinable loops have been provided by the renowned Loopmasters sample house.
4-Channel Mixer
TRAKTOR KONTROL S4 boasts a full-featured 4-channel mixer section with sturdy faders, CUE buttons, illuminated level meters, high-quality 3-band EQs, and a filter control knob on each channel. The filter is switchable between TRAKTOR and Xone-style. The ergonomic layout has been created by DJs for DJs, with some of the world's biggest names having direct input in to the design. It's easy to integrate other DJ and performance gear like turntables, CD players, or a microphone via the inputs.
The innovative new Loop Recorder feature acts like a fifth deck, to add an exciting layer on top of your mix by recording and looping audio on-the-fly. An optional foot controller can be used to engage the Loop Recorder while both hands are busy—for instance while performing an advanced scratch routine.

The Traktor S4 controller and Traktor Pro software combine to make a powerhouse of a DJ tool. Even though the S4 has a plastic body, it does not feel cheaply made. The components feel solid and are easy to use. The jog wheels have a nice movement to them and are not overly sensitive. The Traktor Pro software has a bit of a learning curve but once you master it, the sky is the limit for DJ creativity and remixing. Well worth the investment!

A truly outstanding piece of equipment with all the versatility you can keep down. Too much functionality to mention all but the sample decks coupled with a clear and ergonomic layout make this a quick study. Although the learning curve is steep for some functions, it comes with a huge payoff at the summit.

Don't waste your money on the cheaper alternatives if you are a Traktor fan. I bought two other controllers trying to find a cheap solution to effectively control the problem. I finally broke down and got this, and it's awesome. If you want a niece, relatively compact solution to controlling Traktor, wait until you can afford this and buy it...it's great and the soundcard inside is far superior to others I've used (other than the Apogee Duet 2 - very comparable to this, but it serves a different function entirely - also a great product FWIW)
The only thing I'd like to see are kill push features on the EQ and a knob for key control, but you can definitely live without these. Overall it just works - as described - without anything weird going on.
Feels solid - definitely not a toy like many other controllers available
Like the title states: you get what you pay for. I've had the Numark Total Control and the American Audio VMS4. This is the only one that's worked exactly as advertised and works well. Makes my job 10000000x easier.

I've had my S4 now for about a week and I have to say I'm REALLY impressed. I love how intuitive it is to use, the Traktor 2 Pro software is simply awesome! I used to own Serato Scratch with a pair of 1200's as well as CDJ's and have just this small piece of hardware has completely made my entire setup compact and simpler to use. I've reclaimed a lot of desk real estate too since I'm in a small apartment. I'm not a professional DJ by no means, but just going at it and using it without even reading the manual says a lot about it. The S4 is solidly built, has great effects and tons of features. I haven't even begun to scratch the surface on its capabilities. If you go with this...you will NOT be disappointed. I love mine!!!
