I love the all-in-one CD/Mixer concept, very convenient for set up. There are inputs enough for 3 more components such as CD or tape players; two can also be used for turntables, the other one is shared with Mic 2. All the positive points others have made I agree with. I do have a few minor beefs, though. One is that the mic jacks are 1/4" Hi-Z only, so I have to use impedance switching adapters with my Lo-Z mics. Second, while you can very precisely line up your start points, if you want the channel to stop looping through a microsecond at the point where you've paused it, so that you can turn up the channel and do a cold start instead of fading in, you have to hit the Play/Pause button twice REALLY fast, or you lose your start point. Third, since the metal case is rather thin in the back, the XLR balanced inputs feel squishy when you're plugging in and out. Makes me afraid I'm going to hurt something. My biggest beef was that both CD drawers started closing by themselves as soon as they opened. They're supposed to close after half a minute or so, but not immediately. Numark service would have had me ship it back, and I couldn't go without that long, so I took it to a local repair guy I trust, who modified it slightly with a part that won't wear out, as the normal drawer latches apparently do.

I bought this CD mixer about 3 years ago and currently I'm on my 3rd one so far. My main complaint is the right deck won't track through the entire song without getting 'stuck' or it simply can't find the first song on some CD's.(Mostly) one's that I have burned from original disks. "NUMARK"...What's going on here? I've been embarrased too many times by this "flaw". Then the disk won't eject immediately which makes you look even more incompatent!!! Then some times the left tray would come only halfway out and go back in. *(Sloppy electronics or transport systems)* The design engineer need to redesign this product to KENWOOD or DENON standards of reliability. I D.j. in night clubs on weekends and I need this deck to be a "ROCK" in my gear. Believe it or not the CDM-150 that I only paid $99 bucks for (used) was supposed to be my back-up deck, and it has NEVER failed to track through a song and never gets stuck. (Go figure). The CD Mix-2 has a superb look and the features are (A #1)...but please, redesign the electronics & transports and I'll keep this deck foe'life cause when it plays a song, the bass and treble are hard hittin' and you can't beat the seamless looping features this deck brings to the table.(I'm all about the music)D.J. Numark CD-Mix 2

This System is great for any mobile DJ's that need a cheap, yet smooth quality mixer to keep them going. The buttons are not cheap, they are made of soft rubber - eliminating any clicking sounds, and it plays CD's with very little time wasted while the mixer reads them. Overall this is a good quality mixer for the money, and has had no problems.

Love It

By Yogasawy

from MI

I'm a radio disc jockey and looking to get into DJing parties. Received this the other day for my birthday and love it. For a beginner like myself it makes it very easy to understand the controls. The best part about it is that you can pick it up and just take it anywhere with you. For those wanting to be a DJ pick this up!

Still going

Ask me a question

I did a review of this almost four years ago. Had a problem with the drawers closing by themselves before they're supposed to. Still have that problem (local repair didn't last), but have simply gotten used to throwing in CDs as quickly as possible while the drawer is closing, or pressing the button a few times until the drawer stays open. Seriously, I don't even think about it anymore. Otherwise, no obvious problems DJ'ing an average of 40-50 times a year, and I've figured out the proper way to set a cue point. But there were some weird interactions with my Carvin amps, both of them, being driven into standby at specific points in bassy hip hop tunes (with bass at noon, or less, and levels well below unity on the Numark). My techie friend says there may be some incompatibilities between the Numark's output and the Carvins' ability to clamp off big sub-bass. So I compensated for a while with external EQ and compression, and eventually switched to powered speakers -- no such problems so far, knock wood.

Great to Use With Your Laptop

By Digital Grooves

from Baltimore,Maryland

Want to impress people with a small amount of equipment on your table? Use this baby with active/powered speakers with a laptop, and you will look good and professional, not to mention minimal equipment to haul.I play cds occasionally. Only recommendation is to use permanent rca elbows so you do not wear out the solder connections inside the board, which is a $150 repair.

What a Great Way to Start!

By DJ Chef Nguyen

from Lawrence, KS

It just came in the other day and I just loved it! I would just absolutely recommend this to anybody and along with that, get the carpeted case to complete the set. It's a true match!I spun my first gig at this sorority here at KU and they just adore me. They're expecting me to come back and do a mixer during the fall. Thanks!

Great for beginners, Great for the price

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I'm very new to Dj'ing but I know when I have something worthwhile. Although it may not seem like it has much, the CD mix-2 is everything a beginner needs. I couldn't ask for more [exept CDJ1000 MK3's haha]. But as far as the features go they're decent if not great. The portability, the pitch control the only thing I wish it had was better EQ control. Aside from that this is perfect as a back up or for a beginner. If you're just getting into the world of Dj'ing then this is for you, look no further. & remember no mixer is going to work like maigic if you dont know how to use it. So practice, practice, practice!!

I just used it for a 40th birthday party and its worked great! I also had a pair of Tapco speakers which were great too. My friend had a video showing and used my auxilary for the sound and there were no problems there either.I'm glad I chose this unit!
