Wow, I really hate these numark cdn 25's, first of all I'm a Club DJ and I have all my music on burned cd's, well well..numark doesn't even read half the songs on my cd's, sometimes the left deck will fully play the cd, but the other deck will only play half the songs, this product is really wierd, not only has it happened to me but also my friend & sidekick DJ Mike as well, we both have the same system and have the same problems, some songs take a longer time than others to load. Numark is not reliable, I swear it really sucks when you don't have enough time to mix in a track when the cd won't read a specific mp3. DO NOT BUY NUMARK CDN 25'S SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SPEND A LIL MORE ON THE CDN 30'S, those are better quality! Numark is good but only good for mixers, I have the Numark PPD-01 Digital Scratch Mixer, and it works superb, it's great for scratching & mixing.

My very first Dual Player was a Numark 20 years ago. And it was awesome until I leaned into the right side transport...and it never cued the same ever since. After dealing with the issue for a few years I got a Gemini which after 5 years started to become very sensitive to the slightest vibration on the dance floor. I think the springs wore out or something. So just 3 months ago I did my research on features and price and I was very happy to purchase a Numark again. That was until it started skipping with my CDRs. It happened with new burns and ones I've had for years. 24x and 4x didn't make a difference, it would always pick the exact song to skip whenever I walked away from my equipment, I hated it and complained to Numark. They said send it in, not mentioning this was a known complaint I shipped at $35 my cost, just to have them return it a month later stating nothing was found wrong with it. I called and they gave the 'ol burn speed excuse which I replied didn't make a difference. I am now shipping it back to them at there cost with a sample CDR. They addmited that their "newer" model players don't have that problem. So I suggested they swap out the transports in mine for those in the newer models. He said send it back...so we shall see if them make good...too bad I really love the features it has.

I bought one of these units as a back-up when my main CD deck was in for repairs. It's simple and basic, no extras, just play and cue. I've never had any problems with it not reading discs. Sometimes the cue up time seems slower for some discs. The jog dails are nice and big and have a cool rubber like feel. They spin easily so you can find cue points fast. The play buttons were a little stiff and took a while to get used to. It doesn't have schock proof memory, so be prepared for discs skipping if your dance floor's jumpin'. I've never had any problem with mine, but since it's a back-up, I don't use it alot either. For the money and features, it's a good "starting out" or emergency deck.
I bought a used unit and it didn't work at all. Returned it for a new unit. First, I noticed it wouldn't play most CR-R, that I tried. Within a year, one of the 2 players craped out. So I replaced it with a Gimini, so far I very pleased.
I say selective because like other reviewers, ours won't read some CD-R's, even though I always burn at low speeds. What's strange (and rather idiotic) is we have an older single play version of the CDN-25 (looks just like it, except it's one piece and has a number keypad for direct track number entry), and it'll play the same disks that the CDN-25 refuses to. If I had it to do over again, I'd buy two single players because they'll fit into the same rack space as the two-piece CDN-25. Plus you have a direct track number entry keypad, which is very handy for our use. Pay attention to what other reviews post, it can save you making a bad purchase. Next time I'll go with another brand.

I was told by numark that this player reads CDR's better if they are burned at 4x speed nothing faster. I have had the same problem with cd's not being able to be read. Mine is getting fixed again. Will try slower burned CDR's when it returns.
This little thing has been awesome for me right out of the box. It has seamless playing with great features all for a very small price tag. I have had no problems playing any types of CDs including CD-R and CD+RW. The start is very quick. Also, the rubber buttons and jog wheel make using this machine easy. Great product from the guys at Numark!
I have two new Numark CDN25's. I have CDN30's in all of my mobile systems. I purchased the 25's online because of the value, big mistake. I can not get them to read my CDR's and have tried everything from the cheapest to the most expensive CDR on the market. The 25 loads very slow and sometimes will read the first 4 or 5 trax and will not read the rest. I so suprised at the performance of this product. I love Numark products and have used there mixers and players for many years. I do not know what to do about this situation.
I have three CDN-25 players, works good for about the first 6 months. Will not play some cdr discs that are burned with liteon burners, witch are in most Emachine, and HP, computers. All three players put a ring scratch in the middle of cdr because disc spins onto tray when ejecting the disc. Player gets hot when reading the slightest scratched discs, thus making the player stop, I put a fan in all the players, problem solved.
I bought this unit about 6 months ago, and it hasen't given me 1 bit of trouble yet. It sounds great and has no trouble with CD-Rs. I love mine and will probably buy another one for the school i work with. definately worth a look.
I've been using three of these decks for a couple years. They are a little slow to respond once in a while, and the dispay is too dim for outside work. Other than those problems, they have held up well to the road.
