Bought this about a year ago. This is a really good cd player. Although my ratings are pretty high, i do have reasons for them. First off the features are awesome, seemless loop. and seven other features including scratch. Although the scratch feature has no lag that i've experienced, the jog dial doesn't do it any justice. i've only used the jog dial for spinbacks etc., and to speed up i just used the pitch bend button. The key lock feature is an awesome feature, that is best used when mixing slow love songs for weddings etc. Overall if used right, with the sampling feature, this can be one of the best and most inexpensive piece of equipment that gives you high quality features for half the cost of the bigger name brand models. Just be careful to not toss around the cd player portion of the deck, i have heard stories about the lens on the laser popping off. if you decide to go with the cdn-88's have fun. and happy dj'ing.

The Numark CDN-88 (not the mp3 model) was a fun CD player to use when I first pulled it out, and worked great for a while (almost a year.) The beat mixing and effects on it are work and sound great, but it does have an issue. I always took the CDs out before turning it off, but if you don't and it's playing, the CD's get stuck in it. Once more, it wouldn't recognize the CDs after this. I haven't been able to get it fixed, as Numark hides their support number or puts you on hold for ages. Some companies have too many problems with the gear that they won't even sell it. I would recommend the Gemini CDM-3600, or an equivilant american audio model if you want something in the same price range. Will not buy Numark products in the future.

I have owned one of these machines for about 3 years and with the exception of the small jog wheel, I have nothing bad to say about this machine. I have used it any where from weddings to block parties and it performance is right up there with some of my far more expensive equipment. I love this machine.
I love this machine, it was one of the first machines to scratch. I loved it and have 12 of them, in pristine condition. I use them like my 15 90's, in clubs, on Spring Break Locations and all over the world. I have the red ones, and got them when first came out. No problems so far, and have great time in radio, stage, and gearing it at mobile function. Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you, love everything this baby does...
I have used the CDN88 for 8 years now. I use it every weekend. It's tough and is very easy to work with. The effects are very good although could be a little more in realtime. I have two CDN88's. For the price this is a good system.
I have had my unit for about 6 years with no problems. Scratching is awkward because the wheel is small. But, you can pop in a sample CD, put a sample in CUE, Loop1, & Loop2, then jump back and forth between 3 samples as fast as you can press the Reloop and Stutter/play buttons and scratch 'em. You can't even do that with my CDX (it only does 2 at a time). Cueing is simple and accurate. When used correctly, the Beatkeeper III & Interlock button make mixing so simple that it's almost like cheating. You can also set the pitch to 100% and simulate a turntable brake. FX, you have to use a button to toggle between all the FX which can be confusing in a dark setting as the FX are listed on the side and not lit up. But for the price Sweet unit and one of my favorite pieces of gear.
Numark outdid themselves with this dual unit. All the features, especially the Digital Scratch, are very useful in mixes, while their +/- 6%, 12%, 25%, 100% pitch control and their key Control (speed of vocals) are going to be major reasons to love these even more than you thought (once you learned to used them properly). This deck is seriously loaded for their price.
I have owned this cd player over the past 3 years and and it has worked very well! I would recommend this cd player to anyone!
This is basically the ideal machine if you don't want to spend money on a more expensive Denon or don't want to buy table top cd players. I've owned it four years and have never had a problem. Its very durable if kept in a good case. The features all work great and the loop and start buttons are easy to use, making for excellent mixing possibilities. Best buy for mobile DJs on a budget. Don't buy cheap quality Gemini or American DJ, this is what should be bought at the midrange price.
Understanding how music is counted is key to mixing Music. This product is great for beat counting. This was my first CD player that I bought to DJ with. It was perfect for the jobs that I was booking. I am now using Pioneer CDJ's due to the amount of clubs I have moved in to. This product is perfect for a mobile DJ. Cueing and startup time is great. I will keep this around for a backup.
It's like spinning records, but with more special effectslike looping and cueing at an instant.
I purchased this product about a year ago and have had absolutely no problems with it. I can always rely on it to work perfectly. I like the seamless looping and auto beat matching the best. These are great features and not that hard to use. At first, all of the features take some getting used to and it takes some practice to learn how to use all of the features...but once you learn how to use all of the features, it's a piece of cake. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a great dual CD player with tons of features. The price isn't too bad for everything you get either!!!
