10 years ago, I was just learning to mix until my friend who owned the SL1200's I was mixing on took them away from me :(. At that time and till now I am a beginner. So after mixing on the computer for lack of funds, I started missing the feel of using the turntables and went on a quest for a new DJ setup. After dealer recommendations on the TTX1's, I decided that the TTX's would be the best way to go. After setting up the system, I started mixing. These tables are so easy to mix with, its almost like cheating. The BPM gauge is not the most accurate, but is outstanding to have when you just can't figure out why things are not sounding right. The platter is rock-solid and the blue lights along with the hyper-white pitch platter light make the tables look amazing especially with a fog machine running. Detachable cables are especially handy for when you either need to replace a frayed cable or decide to get something in the lines of monster cable for the best possible connections. Also impressive is the versatile mounting positions for battle or straight mixing, the switchable straight and "S" tone arms, reversible playback button, and who can deny the amazing torque. (Still trying to get used to not "pushing" the record on cue!!) All in all this is an unbeatable turntable for the price and may just give Panasonic-Matsushita (the makers of the legendary Technics SL1200's) a run for their money, even though they do deserve props for making a turntable in slightly varying degrees to remain a king in the turntable market since 1978. Get the TTX1's, you will surely be happy!! :D

I bought two of these tables last year from when they were initially released for full price. It just so happens that the warranty is 1yr limited and so that is parallel with the lifespan of the TTX1. The digital rotating dots (to indicate revolutions) began flashing as a whole circle and the table refused to play. It would randomly stop during sets... very frustrating. Apart from this small problem is the huge feedback I get because of the horrible grounding issue. Now Numark wants my $ for them to fix it plus S&H!! Learn from my mistake, buy the Technics...

Great Product

Comments about Numark TTX Direct-Drive Turntable:

I own these tables and rock them daily. The only problem is how heavy they are. They really are a pain in the ass to lug around compared to technics. Besides that, these things own.

Very Good Decks

By Hiddentalent

from Greenville, SC

Comments about Numark TTX Direct-Drive Turntable:

I have read the previous reviews before purchase. Now, I have owned these decks for about 3 years now. All I have to say is... WAY TO GO NUMARK!!! I have used several decks in the past, Gemini: good for beginners, (or people who do dont know what they are doing! LOL) Technics: also good decks. Vestax: very good decks, (if you are into the kinky style!. once I put the straight tone arm on and cranked the tourque up, the feel and flow of these things is awesome! If your into heavy scratchin', like I am, tears, chirps, and backspinnin' is ease! BUT YOU MUST GET GOOD NEEDLES!!!!. with the features, like: key lock, BPM (which, however I dont see how they configured this thing), and tourque control. I take these babies everywhere I go. perfect for the that hardcore scracthing/mixing dj like me!!!!!BUY THESE DECKS!!!! IT WILL BE WORTH IT.

Good overall, reliability questional.

Comments about Numark TTX Direct-Drive Turntable:

I really liked this table. Its the only table that really came out even with an SL 1200. I really really want to be using it now, but it suffered motor a burn out, and in researching the issue further, it turns out that the TTX is vulnerable to this issue. I am awaiting info from Numark about how and how much to get it fixed, and I like this table enough to justify the repair. I think newer models have been upgrated with a better motor, so you probably wont suffer that fate, and therefor I do reccomend this product.

Comments about Numark TTX Direct-Drive Turntable:

I have gone through 3, yes, 3 TTX1's and only one hasn't gone bad yet, and it is the youngest one. One of them started to make loud motor noises within the first month and the other one started shutting off all the time because of magnet and motor issues. Do not buy, stick to TECHNICS.

Pros vs. Cons

By Unbiased

from Denver, CO

Comments about Numark TTX Direct-Drive Turntable:

I am the only one out of all my friends that own the TTX1's, so I get the opportunity to frequently mix on both the Techs and the Numarks and can honestly say that both are very well made. Since I am unbiased (however LOVE my TTX1's) I figured I would make a Pros/Cons list for people who are considering buying them.Pros:Amazingly fast start/stop speedGreat reverse featureDurable and reliablePitch Adj. locks up better than any other deck I have usedInterchangable tone armsOverall great look and feelCons:I don't like the feel of the platter indentations, (partial to the techs circles)BPM counter is worthlessLook akward in a flight case or coffin due to the rounded cornersWhen are you ever going to have to adjust the pitch +/- 50%?! If so what the hell are you mixing?!I would buy the TTX1's again without hesitation, I am just curious to find out how they stand the test of time...

Numark does it again with the TTX.

By DJ Koolz

from Atlanta, GA

Comments about Numark TTX Direct-Drive Turntable:

I have used many types of turntables and to me getting the TTX was the best move I have made so far. It has lot more features and for the price, it is a bargain. First thing I did was to buy a different slip mat and a pair of good cartridges. The sound is great. Well worth my money. Buy the way, I would consider buying the extended service agreement.

Comments about Numark TTX Direct-Drive Turntable:

These are like Pamela Anderson in the late 90's..Simply the best out there. Sure others came before it, and still are great, but these are the best. It's difficult to say, because the turntable gods are suppose to look down upon anything other than technics, but I heard even they were using TTX1's now.

Comments about Numark TTX Direct-Drive Turntable:

I have been djing for ten years, this is the worst turntable on the market, aside from anything by Gemini. You could not pay me to play on these hunks of junk, I walked out on a gig where they tried to make me play on these. Don't waste your money buy some 1200s and be happy.
