This little unit (Alto Alphaverb2 Stereo Digital Effects Processor) is a great meat n' potatoes processor that's ready to go right out of the box! A plethora of variations on your standard non-reverb effects (chorus, flanger, etc.) can be had. However, this doesn't provide you with a choice of "modeled" effects that emulate big name processors. Instead, the non-reverb effects tend to have a somewhat unique character to them which I took a liking to right away. The reverb side was pretty predictable, all variations sounded just fine. I bought this for my porta-studio and so far couldn't be happier. If you need a basic, simple little effects processor that sounds great at a practically give-away price, buy this!!!

Not Bad

Pros: Compact size, easy to set up, works in mono or stereo. Cons: Some the effects on the extreme settings are a bit overbearing. Short delay time between effects when switching from one to another.Overall: Decent reverbs, but all are not good. You will have to experiment to find which you like. The delay+reverb setting is overbearing unless set to minimum delay times. Chorus OK, a little bland. Short learning curve right out of the box. Not a bad unit at all considering the price point.

I like it.

I bought for my small PA application, but have been playing guitar through it. For the money I paid on "Stupid Deal of the Day", I'd say you would have to be stupid not to get it. Fun toy.
