If you're looking for high-quality sound at high volume, look the other way. I would recommend this for public speaking engagements and music rehearsals, but that's about it. I have owned mine for 3-years now and have not had any problems with the unit. Road worthiness is lacking, so be gentle! The 740 Plus has served me well and was very much worth the price I paid for it
The features are what you should expect from a powered mixer. The effects are pretty cool and so are the dual EQ's.
As stated earlier, the 1/4-inch jacks on the speakers are mounted on thin plastic and aren't any too strong - be care with them! The speaker cables should be replaced right away with better 14 or 12-gauge cables. I use this strictly for my stereo keyboard rig when playing with our country-swing band at rehearsals - mostly pianos. The sound quality leaves something to be desired, however, especially at higher volumes. While playing out, I use a pair of Ashly 800-watt bridged power amps connected to a Yamaha stereo mixer and 2 Carvin 15-inch 3-way loudspeakers. This set-up rocks the house and well beyond, while the Phonic, well, is best suited for practicing with the band.
For the price, it's a good bet that you'll find this Phonic package useful in several applications.

This PA sounded great and very powerful for the price. I got the extended warranty, to protect it. What a joke. I really want to write a review on the ADH Warranty. So people dont waste their time and money.

We jam once a week and after about six months, the jack input on one of the speakers popped out. I contacted ADH and they were going to send me a return postage for the speaker. In return they were going to give me about half of what it would cost to replace the speaker. The return postage never arrived though, so I ended up soldering the speaker and that worked out ok.

Then around the one year mark the PA started cutting out after 20 minutes of use. So we had to keep turning it off and waiting awile to use it again and then try it again for another 20 minutes or so. After some research seems this is a common problem with the PA. It quickly got to the point where it wasn't worth using at all and another band member got a cheap PA head to use, and we set the Phonic aside.

I decided after awile that since the Phinic sounded better and I did have this ADH warranty to try again to use the warranty. I called, and they were very nice over the phone and they agreed to fix it for me. They were supposed to send me a return shipping label, and in the meantime they gave me a confirmation code and phone number to call the next day to be sure the work order was in with the repair place. Satisfied I agreed to take the phone survey at which point I gave a 5 star review. Called the repair place the next day as instructed and was pleased that the work order was in. They said the whole process would be like a week and I would have my PA head back soon.

But the shipping label never came. I waited a few weeks and called back. Long story short they were nice again and were to resend the shipping label. This time through email as well as regular mail. I told then they were nice but declined the survey this time as I still was only half way there without the shipping label.

Again it never came. I had baby in the meantime so afew weeks went by again before I would call a third time. Same deal they said they would send shipping label both email and snail mail. Neither ever came.

I dont know the situation here but there is definately a problem with this ADH Warranty. I would run away from the ADH Warranty on any purchase, and although this is a great souding PA for the price, I would run away from it as well due to the common issues that many including myself have had.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 740 Plus / S715 PA Package:

These sound great. I needed them for a presentation/performance I was giving at my college. HOWEVER, when I got them fresh out of the box, one of the tweeter drivers was disconnected from the speaker wires and cabinet inside; it was bouncing around! I had to take apart the speaker and connect the tweeter and screw it into place. You can't crank them up too loud, the bass starts to get distorted. Definitely reliable for indoor use though.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 740 Plus / S715 PA Package:

The price was great so I bought it. Its a cool rig in every way except for power. No volume whatsoever. I think they have drastically over rated the wattage on this thing. If you're looking for a gigable PA in this price range buy an old Peavey XR rig and speakers. Yamaha is also very good. You can find the old school stuff selling for roughly the same price. There's no point in lugging 15 inch cabs around if they're not giving you the sound you want from them.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 740 Plus / S715 PA Package:

I have waited for 2 years to write this review so I could evaluate them. The unit has been used at many live music events with live musicians and also for DJ indoors and outdoors. When not using at events they are used at home for practicing. They are used at least 5 times a week. I do not over power them with music to try and destroy them like hard rockers do so they have worked great. I'm sure if you redline them for a long period of time they would blow just like any other brand (you can destroy anything if you try). They sound great and perform excellent. The music style is mostly Country, Bluegrass and older rock. I would strongly recommend these to anyone using them as I do. I recently had a request form a live band to use my unit over their expensive setup do to the quality of sound. They wanted to know where I got them and how much it cost. I will be purchasing another set soon to extend the one I have due to growing bigger and also to have a second set so we can do multiple events at the same time. GREAT PRICE, EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!

I purchased this for a band startup to have something to use, planning on getting something better once the band got going, after a few months the limiter showed it was always peaked and no output from the pa. Phonic is a very hard company to get a hold of for warranty repair, by the time they got back to me it was out of warranty, would not rec. To anyone just save a little extra and buy better quality, I learned from this you get what you pay for.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 740 Plus / S715 PA Package:

I purchased this system for my small cowboy church. I set it up with the two main 15" speakers 40' apart and added 2 10" monitor speakers between them at 8' apart. I placed the Amp at the rear of the room 55' back to a photo platform. The room is wood walls, and corrugated tin overhead. Not the best environment for aquatics', but this system seems to handle it very well. (Maybe a little help from above there too). The sound is clear thru the speakers no matter if we have singers or ministers at the microphones. I am very pleased with the system and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great PA system. Not bad for entry level, but just quit one day after about a years use while using to record a live demo. Powered up, LED were tripping and registering instrument signal, but no output. Emailed Phonic support x3 which is your only communication option and never got a reply. Buyer beware.

Tweeter horn and one TSR input did not work . Rather than send everything back , I opened the speaker up and found a connector for the Horn disconnected, easy fix! Disassembled the mixer head and found bad connection on the TSR plug, second easy fix!
For the money, this is a great system , make sure you test all functions when the unit arrives. Again, for the amount of shipping these units go thru it is amazing that they make it to us customers with such little issues!

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 740 Plus / S715 PA Package:

This package exceeded my expectations.I picked this package up for my home studio. I've been playing heavy rock and roll for over 20 years and have played through several PA systems. The 15's are the right choice for the monitor cabs for sure. Great vocal tone. Nice effect on the PA. Just added a little chorus and reverb and the vocals sound amazing. I have 4 vocal mics running through it on the lowest power save mode and the vocals are ringing through, even with our ridiculous hard hitting Tommy Lee style drummer and loud crunching guitarist. This is great for practice and can surely hang at a small venue. You can add 2 addl monitors up if need be and slave it into a larger PA for large shows and use this for stage monitors (up to 4) and it will surely hang. This PA is worth 4x the $ I spent. Excellent deal, excellent sound, and great service with Musicans Friend. If you want a great vocal PA that can hang and sound great with any band behind you...pick this bad boy up!

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 740 Plus / S715 PA Package:

We have owned this PA system for approximately 3 months. We are a four piece band but do not play out. That does not mean we do not get loud. Upon receiving this PA it took a little bit of work to get used to all controls as I feel the booklet that came along with it should have had more information. The pros this system are as follows. It is loud enough for what we needed for, and once we learned how to use the effects that was also a plus.

          Now for the cons.
The wire that they send for the speakers is inferior. The plug-in for speaker cable at the speakers is also inferior as it is made out of plastic. I was moving a speaker and unfortunately had my foot on the cable and when I went to lift the speaker because my foot was on the cable the Jack on the speaker itself cracked. Normally I've seen these made out of metal and I would not have had this problem had been made out of metal. However this is a small price to pay for system priced at such a reasonable price.
The effects seem to take a little bit of time to catch up to the change from one number to the next. So be patient when checking out the effects. Another con is that I am having a trouble with using the seven band equalizer and not getting feedback. But again I am not in a very very large room but yet one that I would assume is big enough not to have feedback.

All in all I believe that it is adequate for what we needed and intended to do. I do not believe that it could handle a large venue or perhaps even a midsize bar. However so far we are happy and time will tell just what kind of the deal we got.
