I purchased this home studio package over a month ago. Being new at home recording I had to feel my way around a little, but this package made it easy. I am recording songs and making use of the unlimited tracks you get with this product. I have found that I need a midi to make use of the virtual instuments, but thats not an issue. My hat is off to Presonus for making a great product and Musicians Friend for making it affordable. I did have one problem at first downloading the Audio Box Interface but after I downloaded the Studio One program and registered on the Presonus site the download was there and it was a breeze. The microphone in the package has a good clear sound and the monitors are excellent. Everything you need is there and like I said even for a beginner it was easy. Thanks again for great products and great prices.
Overall quality of everything the MXL microphone and the Fostex monitors and the Presonus gear is excellent.
This is a fantastic package for the price.

For a first timer trying to record my voice with karaoke track, I'm lost and a bit confused. There are no directions add fast d how to use the software. It says there are demos but heck if I can find any. When site seams useless. From what I have figured out, not much as far as changing your voice or adding echo and such.
Otherwise its fun and seams like good quality equipment for the price. Very easy set up. Fun to plan around with. But lots on the software to try and figure out if you don't even know where to start.

easy to set up, not hard to learn and for beginner's , was a proffesional musician but didnt get into the recording or mixing end much until now, this system is fun to learn, i compared this to alot of other packages and this is the best value, great sounding speaker's, software program is fun to use..

This little setup definitely improved my homerecordings. It's small and compact, and is easy to use once you get it set up. I had a problem with the drivers. I went to the Presonus website, and for some reason, the website wouldn't let me download their most recent driver. There was an older driver on the website, but the driver made the playback poppy and scratchy. I was eventually able to get the hardware to work with Asio 4 all driver. Now it works great and is smooth. I imagine, if you can download the most recent driver from Presonus, that it works great as well. I gave this 4 stars because their drivers suck. Use Asio 4 All if you're having any issues.

I rated everything a 10 although I haven't yet used the Audiobox usb or the mic; however, the Fostex speakers and Studio One are amazing. Studio One defeats Audacity (which I was using) hands down. It's very simple to use, has a ton of features, and is aesthetically pleasing. The audio engine is crystal clear and as far as I've used it, latency doesn't exist.
As far as the Audiobox and mic are concerned, they both seem very well built and are of professional grade. I did review searches on both products before my purchase and they both faired decently well.
The Fostex speakers have a very nice flat response, so they don't "color" your sound; what you hear is as close to your true sound as you'll get. The bass is a little weak, so if you're mixing drum-n-bass, r&b, hip hop, or anything where you need to hear the accuracy of lower hertz frequencies, you'll need bigger woofers. These little 4" do deliver a pretty tight punch though, making them ideal for "instrument" music (country, jazz, rock, metal, etc.). The highs and mids are exceptionally clear.

If you are new to home recording or a veteran, there are many uses for this package. Some of the other reviewers had some download problems and such - I had no problems - and that included the free upgrade to Studio One 2. Just follw the directions precisely and you will not have any problems - excellent value!
Being new to the home recording world, I had feared that this package would be a bit complicated for me - boy was I wrong. It took less than 2 hours to record drums, bass, rhythm guitar, lead, vocals, and backing vocals. Very simple system to figure out with many drop and drag features, further simplifying the process.
everything is built to the hilt - tough chassis, top quality cables included and the monitors are like little tanks! Built to last!
Musicians Friend has bundled this unit around several different scenerios, one with monitors, others with headphones. The one with the smaller Fostex monitors fit my needs best and has proven to be the right choice for me. I believe that the headphones package would have been a bit limiting for my needs.

Everything you need right out the box. This is by far the best package you can get even if you are not on a budget. The PreSonus Audiobox USB Recording Package is ideal for home studio/ engineers that want to take their music to the next level. The XXL mic is so clear to be such an inexpensive one, it will blow you away. The mic stand is strong and sturdy, the monitor speakers are very powerful to be so small, and the USB Audiobox is perfect to be use with both desktop and laptop computers. I recorded all my music with the bundle on my laptop and everything works well together. Best investment you could ever make.

I just got this package last week and the software that came with it is easy to learn I use to use Flstudio 9 and the vst that come with this are better sounding .And the mic that comes with it is really good to.Everything was easy to hook up The moniters that also came were good on mids and highs but im Going to add a suB.Overall its a great package .

I've been in bands in UK and USA for 15 years and unfortunately never took any notice when it came to recording, I just sang and enjoyed the experience. Recently I decided I wanted to do my own recordings but had a little budget and knowledge. I decided upon this set up and for what i'm doing it's quality and price is perfect (Solo Acoustic and vocals), i'm teaching myself the software and everything which is not easy, but this set up is perfect, the software is easy to figure out but do use the presonus forums, the mic and monitors are top notch and it all looks good in my spare room come studio. I'm loving musiciansfriend.com also adding to my project. All in all if you're a home recording beginner with a low budget this is the kit for you.
