The HPR153F combines QSC power and reliability with high-quality 3-way sound.
If you're ready for the ultimate warmth, clarity, and projection, you're ready for the QSC HPR153F. The 3-way loudspeaker design provides seamless frequency coverage from 37Hz to 20kHz with 15" (LF), 6" (MF), and 1-3/8" (HF) drivers. The 600W power module delivers 400W to the lows, 100W to the mids, and 100W to the highs. It also includes a 100Hz high-pass filter for use in subwoofer-equipped systems as well as gain, low-cut filter, front LED on/off, power, and circuit breaker controls.
Each model in the HPR series features a high-power, reliable QSC power module and equally high-quality speakers. Using sophisticated signal processing each power module is carefully tailored to the speaker system for a matched fit and ultra high-fidelity sound. HPR power modules use the same top-quality components and designs as standard QSC rackmount power amps with thick aluminum heat sinks for quiet, efficient cooling and discrete circuitry for the best performance. All HPR enclosures are constructed using marine-quality 13-ply birch and have a heavy 16-gauge perforated steel grille. A switchable grille-mounted power LED adds a distinctive touch.

I play a variety of music professionally for over 17 years now. These speakers absolutely are beautiful. Sonically, they rock. Plenty of power. The amps never get hot. Great quality. I'm very happy with them and am planning to get the subs now to go with them. QSC has done a great job here. You will be happy you bought them. Every working musician deserves a pair of these! I am a QSC believer .......
I purchased a set of these for my side project and they have gone far beyond anything I expected. Mix a set of the powered QSC subs and you've got a live sound that bands dream about. Every time we play, people always mention how professional the sound is. As a live musician, live sound is what sets you apart from the rest of the bands. Take yourself and your sound seriously. They are extremely heavy, and you will need 2 people to carry them.
We have 4 awesome vocalists in our band, 2 females and 2 male. I have never heard any speaker reproduce vocals with such clarity. I use them with an Allen and Heath Mix Wizard and have never had to push these speakers....even at outside gigs. Please do not buy these speakers....we want to be the only band in town that sounds this good!!!
I have used the Mackie SA1530s as well as the SA1232s and was blown away by the sound of the QSCs. Although it has less power than my SA1232s, it did not seem to have any problem filling the same venues with plenty of throttle left. Vocals jump to the back of the room. I have not used the HPR153 w/o a subwoofer but it will playback recorded material with authority so I assume that unless you are a metallica cover band or have unrealistic expectations, this box could be used quite successfully on it's own. I wish QSC would have put duplicate limiter lights on the fronts of each speaker but it stays off the limiters for the most part anyway. I did not buy the QSC subs but did demo them at the store. They would be great for up to about 200-250 peeps if indoors. I run EV QRX218's on 2600w ea and the 153's could hang right with them. Definately a good value for the money. This is an ideal speaker for the inexperienced soundperson. I've run straight out of the mixer for rehearsals and it sounded great. The RCF active is the closest competitor (better)in my opinion but is a lot more. It really isn't a lot better and most users probably won't realize the differnce. This is not the worlds greatest sounding speaker but it is very ,very good for the money. Cheers
I purchased one of these monsters a couple of weeks ago & I'm very pleased with what it dishes out. We used it for a show in Golden Gate Park this weekend & it was a real champ. We had only one QSC HPR153F as our Front of the house system and we were not lacking for volume. We didn't even push it that hard. We mic'd everything & ran it through there, including drums, bass, vocals, guitars, etc. and the sound was excellent. Everyone was commenting about how professional it sounded. A pair of these things would almost be overkill, but I'm saving my pennies to get a second one. The sound quality was like you're used to at a quality rock concert. Clear, warm, airy, and with gobs of low-end punch. Voices project through with incredible clarity and even volume. It's loud, but it doesn't hurt your ears. It's the good kind of loud. An awesome product! You get what you pay for.
