These have amazing clarity, power and projection for their diminutive size. We installed them in a nightclub where they have been rockin' LOUD 14 hours a day for over a year. Anyone who knows speaker-design understands that laws of physics cannot be broken. These come as close as any speaker design we have tested. Our tests show they perform exactly as stated in the literature. You can check the specs for yourself. We also disassemble new units to see what's under the hood. QSC uses expensive super-high-quality drivers, and every pro knows about QSC amps. Don't forget that when you buy these, you are getting a QSC 1000-watt amp in the bargain. Anyone who tries to compare these to bargain-brands is deaf and ignorant. These are a superb value in every respect, especially if you install hard-working sound-systems for a living and YOUR reputation is on the line. We have NEVER had a call back or a failure with QSC products. QSC has improved OUR bottom line by making reliable great-sounding speakers to go with their bullet-proof amps. These are worth every penny and then some. If you have to carry your own gear, then they are priceless. Dr. Decibel has spoken.

Heard these being used at a local open air venue for acoustic guitars and vocals. Great highs, good lows, no mids. They are very directional and almost have a zone of sound sent from the front. They sound muffled/thin if outside this zone. No, it wasn't the eq settings or the mixer; the mixer was expensive and the eq was set fine. These are small lightweight boxes with small speakers. The main selling point for these is the size and weight; NOT the sound (or price). They are surprisingly loud but the quality of sound is not balanced through the entire freq range of the speakers. Cheap crappy Behringers sound as good, are 1/4 the price, and are only slightly larger and heavier. If you are considering purchasing these, listen to them critically, compare with other speakers, and don't buy because of the name or supposed worth based on price. Just my humble opinion.

Comments about QSC K8 8" Powered PA Speaker:
This is fantastic, it is replacing a Yorkvile NX55p. I have been giging for 25 yrs and have used Peavey keyboards amps, Yorkville active monitors, various amp/speaker combo's and a variety of other odd and ends. Going from a 12" to an 8" LF driver was a bit concerning to me until I turned it up. It easily matches the volume of the 55P (and that is considerable) but with quite a bit more detail in the mids and highs. I did lose some overall bottom end, but honestly I rolled off most of the bottom end as the 5p are a bit boomy. For vocals and keys, this is hardly worth mentioning as a "problem"...it isn't. As a stage monitor I am giving up nothing except the size and weight of a larger active cabinet and gaining a much better vocal monitor. Even heavily ditorted hammind sound great through this. I don't know the physics or technical info that makes this tiny speaker sound much larger than it is, but I am glad it does...well done QSC. (former Yorkville fan)

Comments about QSC K8 8" Powered PA Speaker:
I just switch from my Bose L1 Model 2 to this amazing speaker ( I got tired for carrying to many pieces, I do love Bose sound ) and to be honest, if i compare only one of these speakers to Bose, I dont missed Bose at all. It has a very clean sound, punchy and my voice and guitar just sound espectacular. I just use One speaker with a TC Helicon Voicelive 2 without a mixer for my small to mid size venues, thats it!!!! You just have to try it!!
PS: Sorry for my english

Pro's Excellent Power Crisp Mids and Highs, Deep Low Sub Great price for the money almost mimic the event Opal,
Cons: Woofer should have better throws like Studio monitors , and have trim knobs instead of Switches
I use the speaker as studio monitors and booth monitors when out on a gig. You can adjust the vocal and mid-sub to you liking. You don't have to weary about blowing the woofer, tweeter and buring out the amp.. If you ever use studio monitors. It has and eternal limit peak switch that will stop the overload without losing sound..
I highly recommend this product for the price and sound and craftmanship .
Feautures ok , use switches for adjusting the sound quality you desire instead of trims knobs
Sturdy, Has great clean sound, but the 8"woofer should have better throws.like Studio monitors, fan bearing should have been quite
Great Value, for the money light weight but very powerful.
Comments about QSC K8 8" Powered PA Speaker:
Lightweight, small but packs an incredible punch. I've seen other people wishing it had reverb or some sort of effect but I don't think that's what I'd want. I control my sound through my pedal board and Fishman Soloamp and use the K8 to add power and extra low end to the mix.
I work as a solo act- guitar/vocals. I use a Fishman Solo amp by itself for a lot of my smaller gigs but when I need a little more bottom end or just better coverage I add my QSCK8 via the direct out of the Fishman . The sound is incredibly full. I've found that it's best to use the line input to keep from getting blown away. At especially large venues I've been adding a Mackie TH-15.
Well built.
It's a little more costy than a Mackie TH but so much better sound it's worth it.

I have a hectic performing schedule, where I perform up at up to 12 venues in a week.I do everything from a 20 person kids party, to 1,500 seat theater shows.I wanted do have ONE speaker that would be appropriate to use in all the venues I work.
This speaker is light enough to use at a backyard BBQ,and POWERFUL enough to use in a huge theater.
It is LIGHT at 27 pounds. It is POWERFUL at 1,000 Watts. The sound that it produces is RICH, warm and FULL.
I use an omni directional headset mic,and I can turn this up REALLY REALLY loud without feedback problems.
I could not recommend this more highly.I was looking at speakers for 3 times as much, and I think this is a WAY better fit for my needs.
If you are a professional entertainer, and need a no nonsense speaker that sounds AMAZING, buy this unit. You will love it!
Comments about QSC K8 8" Powered PA Speaker:
I use my K8 as a dedicated keyboard amp,it sounds great it's super light weight and I just love it. I lugged 80 pound keyboard amps around for years and this just blows them all away to the junk pile. The only thing I wish they did was make both channels switchable between mic and line input. For my keys I use the mic input it's hotter, if I use 2 keyboards I use a little 4 channel behringer mixer, and send them both to one input. Great buy!
Comments about QSC K8 8" Powered PA Speaker:
I play mostly accoustic piano sounds from my electric piano, and sing. Piano sounds great, more bass response than you could hope for from a speaker this size, vocals are stellar, you just need to introduce some reverb via a mixer, or effects box, makes a great compact P.A., the only thing that would make this complete, would be some useable onboard reverb on one channel for vocals. At 27 pounds,my back loves it too.

when I got these one, never expected that much, but after being using it for a while, I can tell that this little one is the best purchase I ever made, I'm planing to expand my sound with a few more, after beat two pair of JBL's, 15x2, the qsc got the best shot of all, you wont be dissapionted.
Comments about QSC K8 8" Powered PA Speaker:
I got 2 of these for my acoustic guitar duo act along with a yamaha mixer. Work very well for this application for bars inside and outside. Pleny of bass for what I do so I don't need the QSC sub at this time. I compared to JBL and Mackie and K8 is better in a several area. Less boxy and nasal sounding than those. Don't get me wrong I like JBL and Mackie. Behringer was not even close but they are not horrible. These QSC have a great amplifier section and that may be why they sound so good. Very transparent and balanced. I tried Fishman Solo amp and Bose PAS ( which are awesome for a soloist) as well and these QSC's are more flexible in that I got two speakers instead of one so it works better for different venues and musician combinations.
Comments about QSC K8 8" Powered PA Speaker:
to the guy who said they have no mids...they are flatter than any speaker on the market in this price range. he said they only project narrow in front, also not true...the K8's have the widest dispersion of any speaker QSC makes. and to compare it to a behringer is absolutely ridiculous. for the same money you can go get two behringer 12's that are 400 watts each and sound like crap compared to one QSC K8. the K8 is lighter and smaller than one behringer. so if you want to lug around a bunch of crap and show everyone how much money you saved (zero), then go get the behringer. i mean they are the same thing right?
