Shure

Shure sound at an affordable price.

The Shure SM48-LC Microphone offers many of the same qualities as the famous SM58 but at a lower price. This unidirectional dynamic mic is designed for professional sound reinforcement, studio recording, and broadcasting. It maintains a true cardioid pattern throughout its frequency range, ensuring high gain before feedback and rejection of off-axis sound. Frequency response is tailored for vocals with a presence rise in the midrange to brighten performance. A low-frequency roll-off is provided for controlling proximity effect. A shock-mounted cartridge, steel mesh grille, and an integral pop filter make the Shure SM48 tough and resistant to handling noise.

Features

  • Cardioid pickup pattern rejects off-axis sound and provides superior gain before feedback
  • Frequency response tailored for vocals, with brightened midrange and bass rolloff to control proximity effect
  • Shock-mounted cartridge for exceptional ruggedness and reduced handling noise
  • Built-in "pop" filter that reduces explosive breath sounds and wind noise
  • Supplied stand adapter and carrying/storage bag
  • Legendary Shure quality and ruggedness

Features:

On my recent purchase, I only received my guitar cables but had ordered 2-sm48 sure michrophones. When I received my shipment the Michrophones were not included, where they went we could not figure out. Your staff was very helpful and reshipped me my 2 mics that were due, without any hassel .This was the ultimate in custoomer service and I will continue to use Musiciansfriend as my main source for equipment.

Thanks Larry Nix

Excellent Pick

Features:

Love the SM48-LC mic.  Did a studio recording with it and the vocal was rich, full and just what I needed.  Excellent alternative to a condencer mic to get a varity of tone between using either one.  I have another dynamic mic I paid a little over two hundred for and the Shure equals it and for the price of the SM48, it makes for a much better deal.

Quality:

Very well made.

Value:

There cannot be anything else out there for a near the same price resulting in the quality results it gives.

Overall:

Nothing negative.  I've been playing and  recording for over 40 years and I am shocked at this value and quality for the price.

Doesn't quite make the cut .

| Review By: Jerry H | 5 months, 2 weeks ago

2 people out of 6 found this review helpful

Features:

I think it's a OK Mic but that's it . It seems to produce tin like sound when amplifying a Guitar Amp nomatter where I place the mic . For Speaking voice it's great but for serious music , it's lacking tone .

Quality:

Hey , It's a Shure ! That's very good .

Value:

I wanted to use it to mic my Carvin EL84 Tube Amp . It doesn't make the cut . It is deffinatly not a SM57 or SM58 by any standards for any use .

Overall:

For me and my use it's a 4 . Save your money and buy the real thing . You will be much happier . By the way , I use a PreSonus Firestudio Mobile , PreSonus Studio Pro Ver 2 DAW and a Carvin Vintage 16 . Epi Standard LP with Gibson 490 R & T Pups . So ! It is a deficency in the Mic .

Features:

This is an Awesome Mic, for any Cost. Its Warm sound, Sturdy feel and construction.Low Handleing noise, makes it perfect. Its very simular to the sm58and for the Cost It stands alone. I do wish it came with and on/off switch, but If its set right at the Mixer, you never know its there until needed.

Quality:

What can you say, Its Strong and Sturdy, and Does everything required of it, What else can you ask for.

Value:

I Own serveral Mics ,This is the one I go to over all the rest. The Cost of this Mic and The Sound it produces is unmatchedby Many Many Mics, costing much more, Its an Awesome Deal and I would buy it again in a Sec.

Overall:

This is my go to Mic, When you just can't get the settings perfect, I grab this one, and like Magic, The sound is there. Awesome Mic,Its Simple Strong and It does its Job. Cost wise nothing I've found compares with it. But One or Two, I promise You won't be Sorry!
