I've had a couple of pairs of these Sony headphones. I got one with my first 4-track cassette player years ago and they lasted forever. I've used them as phones for CD players and have probably heard more music through them than any other single device. I ended up getting a new pair, as my old pair had been beaten up pretty good and finally bit it a couple of years ago. They are fairly accurate and don't seem to blow up the bass like some phones. It might not be totally transparent, but I find them to be more comfortable and less harsh than some closed phones I have used.I've had a more expensive and by the numbers more precise set of Sennheisers that I don't use as much recording. My ears get tired using them a whole lot faster. The build quality is good and they will take a bit more of a pounding than some other phones, as they actually have a bit of metal in the frame. They are good for the money.

I have had two pairs of these headphones in the last 5 months because the keeps breaking. Like physically falling apart! The earphone just somehow crack and separate from the headband. I gave it 3 stars because the sound is great and has an incredible battery life but I don't feel like replacing my headphones every 2-3 months.

Comments about Sony MDR-7502 Headphones:

I got these as a free gift with my D888, and I was blown away. At first I thought the sound was a little harsh, but I had just become used to a pair that was a lot more dull. Now when I switch between the two, I realize how much crispness and clarity these actually have, and how much detail can be heard. Maybe not the best headphones on the market, but definitely as good as any I've ever heard.

    Beats the beats

    By crishi

    from Henrico, VA 23294, USA

    Comments about Sony MDR-7502 Headphones:

These are good pair of comfortable over-ear drivers serves the very purpose of listening to quality music with extra bass, wireless/wired options. I have Sony MDR X-10 for a year now. Those sound great too. Only problem with X-10 to me is on-ear design; cannot use for long hours with pair of glasses on eyes and sticks between headphones, ears, and skull. These new XB-950 solve my problem. I have been using these for over a month now, and also have taken them along on a vacation. I'll put my experience describing these in two different modes: 1. Headset/wireless mode: No strings attached, pair or connect using NFC, stay on using Bluetooth connection. In this mode you can use music controls (play, pause, next, forward, previous, backward, volume up/down). They sound decent. The bass kicks in when you hit the little button to turn orange back-light on - Electronic Bass Boost (EBB)! Sounds really great, way above "Dr. Beats". Connected to smartphone, you can use these as headset with built-in mic, accept/reject calls and control in-call volume. Battery is nice too. They say 10 hrs of music, but I think it's way more. Didn't have to charge them throughout my 7 day trip. 2. Headphones/wired mode: Connect a 3.5 mm audio cable and all the above cool features are turned off. These work as a normal decent sounding headphones - no EBB, music controls, mic, etc. This definitely saves battery and you no more feel the damage to your precious brain being so close to Bluetooth/wireless radiations. The music quality here could be compared to "Dr. Beats". Pros: - Great audio quality with EBB and controls in headset mode - Good Battery life - Option to switch to wired mode when you need to save battery or avoid Bluetooth - Comfortable over-ear design for long hours listening (even with a pair of glasses) Cons: - Headphones modes is not good enough, comparatively - No carry case

    Excellent Quality

    By SmallPotatoto

    Comments about Sony MDR-7502 Headphones:

Being an EE, I was skeptical on the frequency response through Bluetooth. Upon arrival, I tested it on a lossless violin concerto, I was truly amazed by the sound quality. My next attempt was through the bundled 3.5mm cable; Again, I was further amazed. It sounded just as good, if not better, than my car's Mark Levinson system. I have the Xperia Z Ultra, so paring with NFC was super easy. Definitely a great buy!

    Best Headphones Ever!!!

    By Nebulagray

    from 95658

    Comments about Sony MDR-7502 Headphones:

So I was a little hesitant buying them because there were none on display in a store and not many reviews, but I bought them and decided to try them out. When I turned them on, I pressed my phone against the NFC device, and it instantly paired. When the sound played, I was in shock. They were above and beyond of what I expected and I had still not pushed the Bass Boost. When I pressed it, I was blown away. The sound was crisp and clear, and the bass hit well. The top band that goes on your head is made out of metal, so it can bend a lot without breaking. It is also very light considering its power output. Well done engineers of Sony. I gave them to my sister to try them out, and after her song finished, she asked me if I could them for her birthday. TL;DR Amazing, Good Design, Durable, Good Bass, Must Buy

    Gets the important stuff right!

    By dpbm88

    from 64108

    Comments about Sony MDR-7502 Headphones:

I really like these headphones. I am coming from a pair of monster turbine ear buds and the improvement in bass and sound is remarkable as you would expect going from buds (even high quality) to high end over ears. The feel of the set on your head is light and comfortable, while i haven't tried to much activity other than household chores I find it unrealistic to think that these are going to stay on during exercise or anything but every head is different. Sound quality wise, the bass is superb without much distortion. I feel that the other ranges are clear and well represented also. It should be noted also that there is a bass button which can be turned on or off depending on your activity. I love the NFC bluetooth connection which makes connecting to your phone a cinch every time. The onboard buttons are also easy to navigate due to tactile dots put on certain ones so you can tell which button you are on, this saves you digging for your phone or device to change song, pause or answer a call. The fold flat design is nice for packing but they do not fold any more compactly than shown in the picture. The materials feel like quality and the design is clean and crisp and not so loud as other brands are often. I was pointed to Sony headphones in general do to their long positive history of high end headphones and good reviews of models that came before this one. I also was deterred from beats because i have found that, in my opinion, while they do have good sound much of their price is spent on marketing and being a fashion icon rather than sound quality and their actual product. These are at a lower price point also compared to most models so that is also attractive. I was dissapointed because these come with absolutely no case, no bag or anything which is pretty irregular for high end headphones. Also you may be interested to know that the supplied charging cord is USB only and is only about 16 inches long so their probably won't be any listening while charging unless you like your head on the desk, but you can use the included audio cable for passive listening.

    Frequency response specs seem odd

    By Cat

    from Hohenwald Tennessee

    Comments about Sony MDR-7502 Headphones:

The frequency response specs indicate a bottom end at 60 Hz. Bass strings are 31, 41, 55, 73, and 98 Hz. Cello C string is 65 Hz. This is an issue for me.

    Good Bargain, Bluetooth issues

    By FLTOM

    from Sanford FL

    Comments about Sony MDR-7502 Headphones:

I bought this yesterday and could not get it to pair with my Galaxy 6 or my Visual Land tablet using normal Bluetooth pairing procedure. I used NFC on the Galaxy 6 and it paired in like 3 seconds. I have not been able to pair it to the Visual Land tablet, it does not have NFC. other than that it has good features and sound quality for the price. I really wasn't planning to use it on the Visual Land tablet because it's audio quality is pretty poor.

    Excellent Headphones

    By Jaboba

    from London, ON, Canada

    Comments about Sony MDR-7502 Headphones:

First Impression is a very sleek design with a quality feeling to them. Pairing was the easiest process I have ever done thanks to the nfc/bluetooth capabilities. One touch pairing was super simple and even a little fun to do. Sound quality is excellent and the bass is powerful even without bass boost on. Sound is clear over wireless or using the cable provided. High and lows are excellent and nothing sounds drowned out. Comfortable is not the word for these, have already put some long hours on these headphones and can say they are probably the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. No tiring of the neck or ears with long listening sessions. Charging is super easy with a micro usb cable and a male-to-male audio cable is provided if battery dies. Overall these are the best headphones I have purchased and would definitely recommend these headphones.

    Truly Impressive

    By DavidSimmons

    from 91343

    Comments about Sony MDR-7502 Headphones:

I bought these to use for travel. Normally I favor my MDR-XB1000's but this new set does not disappoint. For it's sheer size alone the sound output is impressive. I also like that the added bass can be toned down by turning off the bass boost feature. This is especially important when using the headset to take a phone call. The specs mention that the lowest tones are only achievable through the use of the passive cord option. I haven't noticed anything really lacking through use of bluetooth. I would highly recommend these to anyone who is a fan of any of the Extra Bass line of Sony headphones. Only thing that could make these headphones better is if there was an optional hard case for purchase. This would be helpful as I plan to use these for travel.
