Not the electric pianos you know, but the one you need to know.
If you're a fan of rare groove you'll be familiar with the work of the Electrifying Eddie Harris. Alongside his set of electrified saxes, trumpets with reed heads and many other delights, Eddie favoured a distinctive electric piano sound which Spitfire have searched high and low for many years to find. They stumbled across a very dusty Vox electric piano in a second hand shop on London's Denmark Street, we whipped out a credit card and brought it straight back to Kings Cross to give it the Spitfire once over. Incredible for groove music, this electric piano adds instant soul, instant funk, instant groove.
It's a remarkably simple sounding, almost toy like instrument, but in the right hands just so very incredibly cool. From simmering jazz funk to something that wouldn't sound out of place on Radiohead's Kid A.This is a must-have if you're looking at building a cool arsenal of sounds. Presented in "Super Mono" via a number of rarefied vintage analog outboard signal paths.
