OVERVIEW

A smart, entry-level solution that gives you a wealth of possibilities to record and produce music.

The CI1 USB-powered studio is a straight-forward audio interface without frills and fuss. Housing two microphone inputs with balanced XLR/TRS combo connectors, high-quality microphone preamps and onboard phantom power, CI1 allows you to use just about any microphone. And with the dedicated high-impedance switch on the first input channel you can jack your electric guitar or bass directly into the CI1. But it's not all hardware — CI1 comes with a great software bundle. Sequel LE is designed for first-time computer music aficionados looking to record their music with ease while WaveLab LE boasts audio editing, mastering and full internet audio publishing features. All this makes CI1 your very own mobile recording studio!

USB powered
The CI1 is powered by a computer's USB. And by simply connecting the CI1 to a USB port the user gets immediate full control of Cubase. Even the +48 V phantom power of the two microphone inputs doesn't require an additional power supply. With the CI1 being fully USB-powered, it's no problem to record music whenever and wherever without having to find a mains outlet. The user can simply plug the CI1 into a notebook, connect a microphone or guitar and start jamming on the spot.

Two high-quality mic preamps
The CI1 provides two fantastic-sounding microphone inputs comprising balanced XLR/jack combo connectors and high-quality microphone preamps, each equipped with individual gain control and a Peak LED. With the onboard +48V phantom power, the user can record at home or on the move using just about any dynamic or condenser microphone.

Direct connection of guitars
The first input channel comes with a dedicated high-impedance switch, letting the user jack an electric guitar or bass directly into the CI1 via the XLR/jack combo input.

Studio quality standard
With 24-bit resolution and a sampling rate of 48 kHz, the CI1 offers a professional digital audio recording standard that lets the user record the music in studio quality. The CI1 is a high-quality audio hardware built by and designed together with Yamaha to provide a build quality that can only be described as truly professional.

Hardware latency-free monitoring
The Mono button on the CI1 allows analog inputs 1 and 2 to be used either as separate mono channels or as a stereo pair feeding just one side (L/R) of the monitor outs. With the Mix level control, the user can adjust the balance between the input signal and the playback signal from the software application, so that the input signal can be monitored without any latency.

Individual master level and phones level
The Line outputs of the CI1 are equipped with balanced TRS connectors, providing professional output studio connectivity. The Phones output is also equipped with a professional 6.3 mm TRS connector. The signal levels of the Master outputs and the Phones output can be adjusted independently. The headphones signal is not affected by the Master volume control.

Included Software
With WaveLab LE being one of the most popular audio editing and mastering software applications and Sequel LE, Steinberg's intuitive music creation software tool, CI1 provides a software bundle that can only be described as one of a kind.

Optional accessories
The optional mic stand adapter BMS-10A (sold separately) allows the user to attach the CI1 to a microphone stand and adjust it to a position that fits to his/her personal needs.

Comments about Steinberg CI1 Advanced Integration USB Studio:

I needed an inexpensive interface for my computer to take advantage of JamKazam. This device was recommended by them and it is doing the job well. I previously tried the Alesis iO2 which was not as effective for JamKazam. I already have a studio recording setup and did not need this device for that, but if I ever need to use it, it would be very effective.

Comments about Steinberg CI1 Advanced Integration USB Studio:

After some burn in the sound did seem to mellow quite a bit.
I noticed that it can be over driven and as a result will distort very easily. It is not the hard clipping kind of distortion but more of a subtle gritty harshness.
I am having one of the output jacks cutting out but that could be an issue with something else, haven't checked it out yet.
The balanced inputs are good with a very clean recording signal that rival my big Allen&Heath mixer.
My opinion of the product has improved some.
Still not thrilled but am quite happy now.
        It was worth the money.

Comments about Steinberg CI1 Advanced Integration USB Studio:

Easy to install on Windows 7, don't care for the software with it but that is a personal choice.
Good (not great) sound but the highs were a bit off.
Some burn in will probably help mellow this I hope.
Not going to be a big problem for me as I am using strictly for Vocaloid send to main computer/mixer.
There are better and worse out there.
        Not disappointed but not thrilled.

Built a dedicated home recording PC and was looking for an affordable and easy way to record directly from the guitar and also use mics for other instruments and recording from the amp. Using a quadcore processor with plenty of RAM. I have had no lag. Software is great.

          Not a bad little interface

Comments about Steinberg CI1 Advanced Integration USB Studio:

There is absolutely NO NOISE when recording through this thing. I've only recorded clean with my SG and plugged direct with my Taylor but I've had no noise issues whatsoever. It's easy to use and packs alot of useful features with pretty decent pre-amps for the price. My only issue was with the software installation. I had to update the software (which the set-up package allows you to do) before I could use it on Windows 7. If you're running Vista or XP it should be no problem. Sequel is limited but it is easy to use for beginners. If this is your first interface and DAW then this is a steal at the price. Great start-up package for anyone looking to record quick home projects, or if you just want something with more mobility. I definately recommend the CI1!!!
For the price and size, it has everything you need for quick, easy, at home recording.

          Great Product!

Comments about Steinberg CI1 Advanced Integration USB Studio:

The CI1 Steinberg truly surprised me. The amount of ability that the CI1 has was certainly astonishing. The installation and setup was very easy to understand. I was excited about ordering this product but when it actually got to my house and worked as well as it did i was amazed. The software it came with Sequal LE2, was also very good. I suggest this product to any young and aspiring musicians and to professionals alike.

          Impressed

Comments about Steinberg CI1 Advanced Integration USB Studio:

I was a little skeptical about buying since there were no reviews, but I am glad I did. This is a really nice unit, especially for how much it cost. Installing is pretty easy, just make sure to follow the instructions. Only used it a little bit but it is very straight forward. I am using it in Reaper and I love how you can separate the 2 different tracks. One more thing to mention is I am using it on a laptop that fell slightly short of the minimum requirements and it runs fine. I am glad I bought it and I am sure you will to.
