    GREAT recorder for movies

    By Joe-2EoTd

Comments about TASCAM DR-680 Solid State 8 Track Location Recorder:

This is by far one of the best valued multi track recorders available for movie making enthusiasts such as myself. The preamps are very clean and more than acceptable. The fact that you can record 6 inputs at a time is awesome! This enables you to dial in your audio mix AFTER your movie sound has been recorded. It is also easily slung over your shoulder so you are able to easily monitor and control the levels of audio on the fly. To give a 3 star review on the Tascam DR-680 because it does not record at 88.2kHz sample rate is foolish. Any movie or regular music audio will be mixed down to either 44.1 or 48kHz anyway. I would love to meet someone on this planet earth that is able to tell the difference between an 88.2kHz recording and a 44.1kHz recording. This is a high quality recorder at a low price, end of discussion!
