I heart Technics!

By dj_doughy-JMlsX

from E-Town, Kansas

I love it cause because it's built like a tank. I've heard of Tech 12s dropped down whole flights of stairs, fallen off balconies, off moving cars, get hosed on, puked on, bottles broken over, set on fire, even buried under 3 feet of sand--and still work flawlessly. The SL-1200 turntable is more reliable and loyal than the family dog. It never jams, never breaks down, rarely needs maintenance, and its design is so stupidly simple everyone in the industry would know how to use one. It could have an average lifespan of 10 DJ careers. You could drop it in a river of molten lava and it would still work. When other tables might sputter or crumble to pieces if you even touch them, this one can be pushed, back-spinned, stopped, slowed, and manually manipulated to your hearts content, and it will always bounce right back to its regular speed. This durability allows people to practically play it like an instrument. A MUST BUY.

Not So Young Dude Review

By polishprince

from Guilford, CT

I'm not a DJ. Purchased this turntable primararily to enhance my surround sound capabilities. I collect LP's for my own listening pleasure. I expected quality sound from this turntable however I never realized how great it would be. It's been fantastic right from the very first track. A truly great product. The positives are in the product.

grew up around technics

from florida

i grew up hearing about when you r a mix dj, there aint nothin better than a pair of 1200's. now that im 15 and throwing parties, the only turntable i use in technics sl-1200. and to think i used to play on numark tt-1400, when you become good and people want u to play at their parties. Use technics sl-1200's u wont regret it. its the most accurate for mixing. i always buy my turntables technics, but for what, these turntables last for a lifetime, i know sumbody that has his 1200's since 1983. no turntables competes, technics has the industry on lock.

The Best Turntable

By Mr Bang

from NYC

The best turntable out there. No way you can go wrong using it. VERY reliable. The only problem I have ever had is the pilotlight going out - 6 years after I bought it!! I would recommend skipping all other turntables and sticking with this reliable standard :)

I have used the SL1200-MK2 turntable in college and as a guest DJ on a local album oriented rock station back in the 80's. I always thought they were the best turntables on the market. They should be, they were used 24 hours a day at radio stations and lasted forever. I recently purchases one of these SL1200-MK2 and I love it, brings back memories of my college days in radio.

In the time I've been spinning, I've used alot of different kinds of turntables. There is absolutely nothing that compares to a Technic.

These are one of the greatest turntables ever made. If you don't think so, you need to try them out for yourself.

This turntable set the standard on the DJ industry as far as turntables go. I just got my first pair. Before these, I had Numark's and I was a great DJ, but as soon as I switched turntables (and cartridges), my scratching and mixing skills increased dramatically. You can't be without this turntable!

Sickest turntable out there!

from Salt Lake City

The TECHNICS SL1200 turntable is the standard of ANY Clubs DJ set up. It is the most proffesional and on point table out there being made to date. Skratchin with its direct drive torque is totally on point and the pitch adjustment is supreme! If you want to become pro, get this deck, if you wanna stay a bedroom DJ, stay with your DJ starter pack.

Great tables,I recently picked some up. It might not have all the fancy features but I don't need them. They look very professional and are much better then Stanton STR8-100 even though Stanton has keylock feature, +25 pitch feature, reverse, and few other features Techniques beats it. Buy this table and you won't regret it

is a tech, what else can i say?

See all my reviews

well, everyone's heard the stories about how technics are the greatest turntable and will be around for another good amount of years. And it's true, it is an awesome quality product. The reason i gave it a high score (9) for features, was only because of the stuff you can do to it. It has NO reverse, etc. It is a turntable, however, that can easily be tuned on your own, and the brake speed can also be adjusted. The quality of this table will last as long as you maintain your table. This table is one of the most reliable tables i've been on. Before you purchase this, i suggest you look into the ttx turntables. It seems to be rivaling the technic with a new modern spin on it. But if you go technic you can't go wrong.

The best for generations

By Moxlon69

from MI

I have used Technics turntables for a long time, I have a vintage SL-1500 from 1976 that still works flawlessly to this day, and every 1200 (mkII or otherwise) that I have used have been pure pleasures to operate. They can be tweaked, and punished, and will always run flawlessly, even if you pack it up for years on end without touching it, you can be sure that when you plug it back in it will play as well as the day you put it away.

The Industry Standard!

By Studioworkx USA

This turntable has provided years of unsurpassed performance in broadcasting and in the club scene for countless years. We are currently dubbing original LP's and 45's to DAT from this unit and it has proven to hold its own in the field among all other turntables on the market today. It has precise tracking abilities and excellent wow and flutter specs, it is in one word awesome. I have used these units for almost 20 years without any failure in their lifetime!

The 1's and 2's

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

This is the best turntable in the world, you can buy other turntables with the highest torque but none match to the accuracy of the technics. I started with some Stanton STr8-100's and they were good and are still good but the 1200's feel just right. If you are starting out buy something that will last forever and the Technics will definitely last for along time.

Good job Technics

By Djblm-22i8a

These are the best turntables on the market! They lock pitch so well and are great for mixing. Also, the platter does not wobble at all. Gotta say, Technics 1200's are the most reliable, and most durable turntables out there. Don't Dj anywhere without them.

This deck is a tank

By DJ Ron North

from Elkhart, IN

No wonder this is the industry standard turntable. It is so solid and skip-resistant that you can bang on the record and the needle stays in the groove!! The sound quality is off the hook and the only con I see is having non-detachable RCA and ground wires, but you know what - OH WELL!! This is THE best turntable I've ever laid my hands on - I'll never buy another turntable that's not a Technics!

The Best Turntables

By DJ Simon

from Boston, MA

I own 2 1200s, one was purchased in 1986 and I purchased one in 2004. When DJ friends come and play at my house parties, they can't tell the age difference between the two. Incredible turntables, neither of the turntables has ever had any problems and the pitch control works perfectly on both! Average of 15-20 hours of use per week. If you want to spin vinyl, buy technics and you won't be disappointed.
