Comments about Universal Audio UAD-2 Quad:
This is my third UAD card (I have an original UAD-1 as well as UAD-2 duo).
The installation is totally painless and UAD's account management and authorization process meant that the time from opening up the PC to install the card and having it up and running was all of 10 minutes.
Being able to off-load DSP from the PC's CPU to the UAD's SHARC chips is a great side benefit to having and using UAD's plugins. The plugins are really top notch and provide many tools for solving acoustic and production problems that I don't find in my TC Powercore and Waves plugins (though these have some solutions that I like better than UAD).
If you do decide to move into the UAD platform, get the quad, otherwise, you will likely wish you had!
I have been a UAD user for 5 years now and have never had a problem with their software or hardware.
