Another Great Yamaha Product!

Features:

Purchased over 2 years ago, and still love them.  I power them with a Crown 402 amp providing a thick, full sound and great highs.  Using an DriveRack (ring out and feed-back suppression) really allows me to boost the volume to a point where the folks on stage tell me to turn them down.  How often does that happen.....

Price, light weight, clean good looks, great sound, what else could you ask for....

Quality:

Great build quality, finish is clean, they just feel real solid when moving them around.

Value:

For the build quality, sound and appearance, I have yet to find a better product for twice the price.

Overall:

Yamaha has been a great company in all the musical equipment they put on the market.  From their drums, to mixers, and now cabinets, they continue to impress.  If you can't A/B these against other wedges, Yamaha is a safe bet to knowing you are getting what you paid for, and as a pleasant suprise, more.

I shopped everything under $300 and there is nothing out there that is even close to the sound/quality of this Yamaha monitor. I share the stage with guitarists using Peavey and Sampson monitors. My Yamaha performs as well or better and was much less expensive. The only caution I would give is that there is no parallel 1/4 jack to daisy chain. I have to be at the end of the signal chain off the board. This is not a big deal to me but if you plan on using several of these on stage you should be aware. I strongly recommend this monitor and suggest you pick one up while the price is still low. You won't get a better monitor for anywhere near this price.

These are great sounding monitors.  Very clean high quality construction.  We were using Mackie and EV and these are much better suited for floor monitoring.  We use 4 for a 5 pc vocal band. These can be hooked up in parallel.  Run a speakon into one speaker from the power amp and connect from the 1/4 jack output to the other speakers 1/4 jack output plug with 1/4" plug speaker cable.

Use it along with a pair of 15" Yamahas for solo/ duo acoustic gigs up to 4 times a week.  Awesome clarity and very rugged.  Am ordering a second one because they are so versitile, can be used as mains for small restraunt/ bar gigs and as monitors for the bigger set ups.  I'd take one of these on a stand and one on the floor over a BOSE any time, especially if you're on a budget but don't want to skimp on quality

I play out as a solo act and this monitor works great for me.  I own a EMX Yamaha PA with 15" Yamaha speakers so I wanted to match what I already had.  You can't go wrong with Yamaha.  The reason I gave it a 4.5 on features is you have to buy a Y-connector if you want to daisy chain them. (as noted by another reviewer)  But I don't daisy chain and Yamaha is my system. (Until I can afford Bose)
