A computer-based recording system for all musical instruments!

The AUDIOGRAM Series has been carefully designed to make setting up your computer-based recording environment an absolute breeze. Coming as a complete kit, the AUDIOGRAM6 Computer Recording System bundles together a hardware interface that adds audio inputs and outputs to your computer, software for recording and producing music, and a USB cable for connecting the audio interface.

This package will instantly turn your computer into a powerful yet intuitive tool for recording and editing audio from virtually any microphone or audio input device. What's more, setup is as easy as installing the bundled music-production application, CUBASE AI, on your computer and connecting the audio interface using the USB cable provided. You're then ready to connect instruments, microphones, CD players, MP3 players, and even old record or tape players for recording straight into CUBASE AI.

Audio interface also with mixer functionality

With the Yamaha AUDIOGRAM6, you get a powerful mixer-type audio interface with two mono input channels and two stereo input channels. Each of the two mono channels features combo-type connectors for direct connection of a wide range of sound input devices. And because you can change the input sensitivity of each channel for direct connection of electric guitars and basses with a push of the MIC/INST select buttons, there's no need to study up on impedance and other specialist recording topics.

One-touch switching between mono and stereo inputs

Using the PAN button, you can instantly turn the two mono input channels on your AUDIOGRAM6 into a fully panned stereo channel and vice versa. For example, you can use this Stereo Coupling function when recording live performances, outdoor audio material, and many other stereo sources with a pair of dynamic microphones. In fact, Stereo Coupling also allows your interface to function beautifully as a simple mixer with three stereo input channels.

USB bus-powered interface

Powered via USB, the AUDIOGRAM6 requires no external power supply. As long as your computer is powered up and connected via the bundled USB cable, the interface will be fully functional, making it ideal for mobile situations or when few power sockets are available.

Setting compression has never been easier

Unlike normal compressors, which can be very difficult to adjust, the 1-knob compressors on the AUDIOGRAM6 are super simple. As the name suggests, you can adjust compression for smoother and more balanced recordings using just a single knob. Particularly when recording acoustic guitar, electric bass, and vocals, this intuitive feature will make your recordings much more stable and professional sounding.

Easy Balancing Of Audio Inputs And Playback

Using the AUDIOGRAM6 interface's Monitor Mix function, you can conveniently balance the volume of audio input from external sources and the volume of audio recorded on the USB-connected computer. Because the volume of audio playback from the computer can be adjusted using the DAW knob while the overall volume for the headphones or stereo output can be set using the MASTER knob, it is easy to achieve the perfect balance between external audio devices and tracks already recorded.

Comments about Yamaha AUDIOGRAM 6 COMPUTER RECORDING SYSTEM:

This interface is farily cheap. It can serve as a basic input for home recording but also works very well for a basic mobile/DJ setup. I,ve used it at several weddings with PA speakers to save people the money of paying for a DJ and it works great. It's easy to set up and to move around. The best feature is the phantom powering mics that require it. Overall I feel that it was a pretty good price for the features it has and it has held up well over the last three years.

Comments about Yamaha AUDIOGRAM 6 COMPUTER RECORDING SYSTEM:

I am a big fan of Yamaha. I am sure this product was great when they launched it. Having two Hi-Z inputs is a must. However, in 2013, this product has become obsolete. With all these inputs, you can not record multiple tracks into your DAW. It has the old USB 1.1 and runs at 16 bit only. The competitors now have units with USB 2.0 or FireWire at 24 bit. I think it's time for Yamaha to launch a new version and rock the market again. I would definitely purchase a new version that allows me to record multiple tracks at the same time. I will keep my fingers crossed.

    Good Interface

    By Victor Essang

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Yamaha AUDIOGRAM 6 COMPUTER RECORDING SYSTEM:

Excellent piece of kit for the price. Laid out like a mixer and so not have cables coming out from the front. USB powered, which is one cable less, and the ability to control DAW output while listening to live input. The single knob compressor is also a nice accessory on it, good and easy to use and not having to fiddle with a thousand knobs to get good compression that most listeners cannot tell apart. One thing however missing is that one switch that turns off your monitors while you listen on your headphone and sing, and for home studio owners without a dedicated audio enclosure that switch is magic.

This is precisely what I needed

    By J. Carver

    from Houston, TX

Comments about Yamaha AUDIOGRAM 6 COMPUTER RECORDING SYSTEM:

I'll handle the easy stuff first- yes, this thing works perfectly, yes, this thing is quite well priced for all the features, and yes, I would buy it again if something happened to it. Now, as for why I specifically love THIS interface- it's the best in its range, bar none, in my opinion. Sound quality is something that you can't put into your spec sheet, and this thing has it in spades. Other interfaces don't often have the smooth as silk sound that mine does.Another winner for me is the layout and appearance of this device- it simply looks sexy, and it's entirely intuitive to use.But the number one thing that sells me on the Audiogram? I've taken to calling it the "Wizard"- it's that one-knob compression. It is genius. It makes my recordings sound like I spent way more money on equipment than I did. Everytime I use it, I cannot help but wonder why on earth someone think of it before. The software is take it or leave it- I couldn't get it to register online, so I had to stop using it, but I liked it while I had it, it's just simplistic. I highly recommend this product.

    For what it is...

Comments about Yamaha AUDIOGRAM 6 COMPUTER RECORDING SYSTEM:

This product is okay for what it is. The software is useless and hardly intuitive. But the hardware is good. The combo inputs on channels 1 and 2 are great, cause you don't always see features like that on devices in this price range. My only problem really is that there's no way to send individual channels to individual tracks in your DAW. This isn't a problem really, except when I want to record something live (simple stuff like an acoustic guitar and a vocalist) it all goes to one track in your DAW. Not a horrible thing though. The knobs feel a little cheap/flimsy, but I don't abuse my gear, and they'll probably be just fine. Is it worth the money? Probably. The best thing is that other devices in this price range serve only as interfaces and not also mixers. That's a plus here. Bottom line- Do your research first, cause this isn't for everyone. You'll need a good, functional DAW cause AI doesn't cut it.

    Ask me a question

Comments about Yamaha AUDIOGRAM 6 COMPUTER RECORDING SYSTEM:

This may not be pro-level gear, but it works and I love it!Good: Great quality construction, intuitive mixer-like layout, balanced XLR/TSR inputs, phantom power, powerful headphone output, ingenious one-knob compressor on XLR channels, Cubase included, very simple ASIO driver that works flawlessly, 100% USB powered for mobilityBad: Supports only 16-bit/48 KHz (oh well), only ONE channel has phantom powerConclusion: With this thing, you're paying for quality, not a lot of gimmicks. It works perfectly, and that's the most important thing. Perfect for home studio recording or hobbyists.

Comments about Yamaha AUDIOGRAM 6 COMPUTER RECORDING SYSTEM:

After several calls with Yamaha tech support, I was told "it just won't work with your system", even thought I was using a system that met the published specifications. Their solution: use a different PC. I will be returning it.

    Awsome Recording Bundle

    By PADMAN

    from Houston, TX

Comments about Yamaha AUDIOGRAM 6 COMPUTER RECORDING SYSTEM:

What can I say but WOW! For an entry level hardware and software recording bundle this has got to be the best. It is very easy to use as far as an entry level product. We have been recording like crazy with the Audiogram and cannot be more happy. This may not be an expensive recording platform but certainly is close for basic recording. I think it can go to 48 tracks but we have not used more than 8 so far. We are now just getting into the automation features for setting and saving detailed mixdown settings. And for the money...come on...this is just ridiculously cheap for the quality. This is a HARDWARE and SOFTWARE bundle... and not just some garbage software either....CubaseAI. We are having a ball and are nowhere near maxing out the capabilities yet. We also are getting a rebate in addition to the already low price because we purchase other equipment at the same time. If you do not have any recording input devices or software yet, THIS IS IT. If you put it on a laptop then you can go anywhere with this configuration. If you end up not really liking it, you have not lost hundreds of dollars of investment. We also bought the Behringer BCF2000 digital control surface just to have a tactile interface for mixdown. This is really cool to have in addition to the Audiogram but absolutely NOT necessary.
