Comments about Yamaha MSR250 Active Powered Speaker:
These speakers are loud and very clear! I use them to DJ parties and they are plenty loud for club houses and other small to medium sized venues. There is pretty good bass response for a 12", but I always use subs. When paired with subs, I take as much low end out to keep the overall wattage down and the clarity of the highs and mids are awesome! Overall, these speakers are great! They are also very durable!! The number and variety of inputs helps make this speaker very easy to set up with different systems, and depending on what you are using it for you may not even need a mixer. Overall great piece of equipment and well worth the price.

Comments about Yamaha MSR250 Active Powered Speaker:
The clarity and strength of these powered speakers really has to be heard to be appreciated. I use a lot of Yamaha audio gear and it's all this way: rock solid, durable, and clear as a bell. These are rated at only 200 Watts, but you'd guess they were twice that from the strength of the sound. In a normal noisy bar-type venue, I use one of them turned to volume of 1 (yes that's 1, not 11) and it's about all the volume the place can handle. Amazing!

Comments about Yamaha MSR250 Active Powered Speaker:
Sounds great paired with the Yamaha mixer board. If you need deep driving bass, add a subwoofer if this is your FOH rig

Comments about Yamaha MSR250 Active Powered Speaker:
Paid the extra money to get this powered speaker for stage monitor use. Was worth every penney! It is so loud, I could barely turn the level up at all. Great sound, great build quality. There were other powered options out there, but I'm glad I went with the Yamaha. You will not regret paying the extra money for this loudspeaker.
Comments about Yamaha MSR250 Active Powered Speaker:
These speakers won't fit everyone's needs but they are really great at several things. A solo performer could play a gig with just one of these if you don't need effects. You could add one as an extension if you're a solo performer with an amp (which I plan to do at smaller venues) and you could use a pair for a band if it's a not hard rock or dance music requiring big low end.
I use a pair of these with a small Mackie board for my solo performances and plan to use them for my band also and possibly a DJ gig now and then. I wish Yamaha would put the on led in the front of the cabinet rather than the back but that's the only change I would make.
The Yamaha MSR250 features include ample power, convenient built in mixer and convenient small size- all in a cost effective speaker cabinet that sounds really nice. The pole mount is good as is the cabinet shape that lets it sit on it's side if you want to use it as a monitor.
I love how these sound in comparison to the many speakers I've heard other solos and duos perform with. I replaced my JBL Eons (which were quite nice and which served me well for over 10 years) with these Yamahas and these sound smoother with more headroom before feedback. They seem to have a very nice even response through the frequency range. I had less trouble dealing with the feedback on my acoustic guitar and Shure 55 vocal mic at close range than with the JBLs. I used 2 of these Yamaha MSR250 last night live for the first time and couldn't be happier with their performance.
I have to give these a 10 because at this price I don't think you could do better. I respect QSC ( I have and love my 1450 power amp) but their similar speakers cost much more. The QSC have more power and have a reputation for road touring toughness but for performers like most of us, the Yamaha MSR models make the most sense. Guys like me, we play local, take care of our equipment and don't have big budgets or roadies. I tried a Harbinger powered speaker hoping that I could get by for much less money but the Harbinger APS12 sounded completly muddy and bad. The JBL Eon510 is prohibitively expensive and doesn't get as high reviews from users as Yamaha does.
