Quite simply, YAMAHA makes the best products that aren't made in the USA. They are like the BMW of Japan. These headphones are comfortable, form a good seal, and have a nice solid feel to them. I use them for both practice monitoring in the studio, and to plug into my iPod. I can only hear what is mic'd when playing with my group, and that is a great sign of these 'phones sound cancelling capabilities. Their sound reproduction is well rounded, with great bass and wonderful midrange, with my only complaint being they could do highs a hair better. A little frequency adjustment can take care of most of that. Superior to any Koss, or inexpensive Sony. If you want complete sound cancellation, the only thing better is a pair of Shure in-ears'. Verdict: Another great YAMAHA.

The stand out feature on this pair compared to others in the same price category is the cord. Other models in this price range tend to have very thin cords that enter the headphones on both ears and risk breaking and tangling. If you have a pet peave about cheap, flimsy, tangly cords, then this is a good pair for you. As far as sound quality and comfort go, I don' think these are the best for the price. I would not be surprised if they break where the phones connect to the head band, but so far they have not. If you don't care about the cord, then choose a different set. If this type of cord is important to you, than its a good choice for the money. For this price range, its a matter of knowing your preferences, and where you want to make compromise. If you don't want to compromise, then spend more money.

For the price this is a phenominal head set. I have had mine for over three years and they are going strong. Maybe I got lucky (I doubt it), but my set is great!

            Good sound but bad construction

            By

            from Michigan

Comments about Yamaha RH3C Professional Stereo Headphones:

These headphones sound great, but they broke today so I figured I would rate my old headphones. I take good care of my equipment so I never abused this product, but out of nowhere the right side broke off. I admit it has good sounds and feels comfortable but don't expect this product to last more then a year if even that.

Great Pair of Headphones For Recording

            By

            from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about Yamaha RH3C Professional Stereo Headphones:

I use these headphones for making and mixing my own music. Compared to my last uncomfortable Sony headphones, these are great! The sound is not Bose quality, but it's excellent for the price and I really feel like I got what I paid for. They are a sterdy pair of headphones and if you are going to use them for playing guitar or recording, their great, but I will assume if you are a DJ or going to be using these in traveling alot, you might be better off with some good DJ headphones, although these headphones are not cheap and seem to be built well for my needs.

            Awsome

            By

            from Richmond VA

Comments about Yamaha RH3C Professional Stereo Headphones:

Well, I bought these about 4-5 months ago and have been using them ever since. I was a little worried about what i would get with there only bring one pic of them, but i have found nothing wrong with them. They have a coiled cord coming from the left ear side only, with a 1/4 inch adapter that screws on to a normal but that plugs into an ipod or whatever else has the right size headphone jack. I use these with my behringer headphone amp and they work amazingly and they pump out some fat sound. And for the price, its one of the best deals for begginers.

Comments about Yamaha RH3C Professional Stereo Headphones:

I had min headphones about a year. The left side broke about 1 month ago and I was able to JB weld back together. The right side just broke and there is not hope in JB welding it back together. They sounded great, were very comfortable, just were not durable enough.

            Don't be decieved

            By

            from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about Yamaha RH3C Professional Stereo Headphones:

The sound wasn't bad for the price. They are actually pretty accurate when comparing to headphones of a similar price range. The problem is they break very very easily. They are poorly constructed. The left ear piece broke on the two sets I purchased and eventually so did the right. Invest in some better headphones. Forget a warranty, you will be able to replace them during that period, but they'll almost undoubtedly break again once it runs out.
