The Surf Trem gets its tremolo circuit from the Carl Martin Tremovibe. With just speed and depth controls (just like an old tube amp), those classic tones are easy to achieve. The Surf Trem features a retro heavy die-cast case with 9V battery compartment, cool color, and heavy-duty bypass switch.

Slow and dramatic (twin peaks)
For the slow song with a lot of drama in the tone, tweak the depth knob up and set the speed to match the tempo of the song.

Subtle vibe
To give the guitar a subtle timbre or vibe, go easy on the depth knob and set the speed fairly high. This gives a light effect that can be used very often, as it will not dominate the song with a heavy character.

Chainsaw
Set both the depth and speed knobs high and use together with a fairly high-gain drive for a very powerful effect.

Got this pedal today and was a little dissapointed the bypass signal. This pedal will color your tone, not a lot, but enough to notice something is missing. I played a baja tele through a NOS BJ and this pedal is very simple to operate but I just can't get past the shift in my tone. Not a true bypass pedal(not that it claims to be) and there are better out there for less or a little bit more and possibly have more features.

This thing is just plain COOL! Nothing hard to figure out about it. I use it every day on my Hot Rod Tele with a P.A.F. Humbucker in the kneck position thru either my Blues Jr., or my original 65 Blackface Deluxe Reverb Amp. I find myself leaving the vibrato alone on my Blackface, and using the Surf Trem instead because it does the same thing and is way quieter.

Besides its retro look and cool colour it is simple to use and gives a few different caracters of tremolo effect. Two knobs are easy to figure out. Not really high quality meterial is used. The paint on the box comes of easly. Boots the signal a little when steped on. After all it is fairly good for its price but I wouldn't replace it if it is broken or lost.

I only play Danelectros thru 5 Watt Class A type Amps...so for me this works just fine. I can put it in front of my Dano Spring Reverb & get a great vintage surfy twangy tone from my amp. However its pretty expensive for such a limited Pedal ie you cant change "the shape of the wave" its jut Meat n Potatoes = Depth & Speed...it works great if your not looking for much more than what you would have found "standard" on an old tube amp.
